INTERVIEW WITH: @whaletree :)

Me: What's behind your username?

whaletree: Ah. It actually came from a drawing I came across in the internet. Hehe. there was this whale with a tree sprouting from its blow hole. I actually showed it to my friends but they got frightened. Oh well, it sounds unique to me so I changed my username to it. ((:

Me: What country are you from?

whaletree: Ooh, I came from the tropical country, Philippines! Hehe. It's so hot here, really.

Me: Why did you join Wattpad?

whaletree: Ah, I just recalled. Woohoo. So, Wattpad has been a common thing my friends or even acquaintances recommend me to join. They said it was fun and I'll get to read stories other people write. Since I'm a curious little gull, I actually created an account and they were right, I never regretted joining Wattpad! It's great.

Oh and, at that time, I was just really new to kpop and my friends said it could help me know and be more engrossed in to kpop by reading fanfictions and I really enjoyed reading them too. c:

Me: What was it like when you first started writing?

whaletree: I can still recall my first ever draft than I never published anymore. It was pressuring since you have to check the spelling and grammar always. God, it was a bit stressful but fun and amazing at the same time. I was also afraid that it will get ignored. Huhu. I asked for my favorite author's techniques and tips and what I remembered from then up 'til now, just write what you desire— don't think of what people will think of your work, just write. Yeah, and then I started writing stories of my own. (:

Me: *nods head* Where do you get your ideas from?

whaletree: Ideas? Hmm, to be very honest, everywhere. I know this sounds so weird but I really do adapt the plots from daily things that happen to my mind. Sometimes, ideas blast through my head during class and I'd be getting a piece of paper to write the idea so i won't forget about it. Trust me, I have a pad of story ideas and sometimes I'd think 'why not create a story ideas book?' but I decided against it for an unknown reason, I just did. Hehe. So, I tend to space out a lot, especially in the bus going home, I try to get ideas from the daily stuff happening in my life and some of my friends even tell me that maybe I think too much. I'd also ponder about the ideas I  like most before going to sleep because there's tendency that I might dream about it and sometimes, I really do dream about it. When I wake up, I quickly grab a pen and a piece of paper to write the stuff I just dreamt.

Me: How do you deal with Writer's Block?

whaletree: Wah, yes, Writer's Block! — one of the common author problems. For me, I really have a lot of writer's blocks from time to time. Sometimes, I'll just lay back, rest and think but if I really want to update, I'd find inspiration and make rough drafts in my notebook until I finally feel like writing again. I feel really hopeless during a writer's block since some of my classmates with Wattpad don't really write so they can't understand the feeling of a writer's block. when I'm really tired I'd just let it be and wait 'til it's gone. Meheheh.

Me: [I know how you feel. We've all been there xD ] Who are your favorite author's here on Wattpad?

whaletree: Ah, authors. Quite a lot actually. It would be  @HahuYeah, @nightseouls, @blueseom, @saintseokjin, @pilosopotasya, @jakseun, @hexmione, and @yesternights.

Me: What was your most embarrassing moment ever?

whaletree: Hah, most embarrassing? A lot. As in a lot. I tend to be clumsy and shy when I was really young so I get embarrassed easily. Since my mind isn't working properly right now, I'll just recall two. When I was a kid — in kindergarten I think — there was this guy I detested so much, I actually told my friend about it and turns out the guy was able to hear it so he was angered — I don't know why. unfortunately, he brought a soda bottle in school — with soda inside of course. He came up to me and offered it to me. Being me, I tried opening it but the soda overflowed and stained my face and uniform. He actually shook it really hard before giving it to me. Huhu. I cried in school.

Second, when I was older (I think? But still in kindergarten), there was this playground at my school. It was dismissal already but my mother isn't fetching me yet so I decided to sit on the see-saw. Since it was only me, the see-saw's other side lifted when I sat on the other end. I was actually waiting for someone to sit on the other side so it would be fun. And someone really did, this guy (he's different from the first one) that had a crush on me (the feelings aren't mutual because I was still a kid, okayyy? ) sat on the other edge. He was quite heavy, I thought since the see-saw swiftly changed position and he was down and I was up. Since it was really quick, I managed to fall from the see-saw. It hurt a lot but what was embarrassing is the fact that our uniform was a skirt and it lifted when I fell. of course, the guy saw it. Not mentioning he had a crush on me. Huhu. Omg, I was wearing hello kitty undies at that time.

Me: Oh, my gosh. I can't believe he did that to you!

whaletree: Yes, I can't believe too. Huhu. Considering the fact that he actually had looks— joke joke c: . But that's one of the reasons why I'm not a fan of soft drinks.

Me: Are there any stories you're working on that aren't yet published? If so, can you please tell us a little about it?

whaletree: Yes, actually. It's entitled 'Paper Planes' and it would be a semi-angst story. It's my first time writing a little angst but I think I can do this. cc: It would probably be a Jimin or Taehyung fanfiction, depends. Woot woot.

Me: Is there anything you would like to add? Any advice or other things you would like to share for our fellow Wattpaders here?

whaletree: Hmm, I just want to say that 'you shouldn't think of what others would say about your work, just write and write. Also remember to take inspiration and tips from others, be open-minded and accept what others pinpointed in your work, take this as an opportunity to be better, don't let yourself down'. c:
