You don't have to do it if you don't want to.

Okay, yesterday for me was quite stressful. Let me get you caught up, if you didn't see my post.

I woke up around 9:25 yesterday morning in EXCRUCIATING pain. At first I thought it was just cramps because that's normal for girls (duh), but it quickly got so bad that I physically could not get out of bed my stomach hurt so bad, so I was scared it was something else and more serious.

I cried so hard and tried to yell for somebody to come (yes, I cried for my Mommy a lot) and help and get me some Tylenol, but everybody was already up cooking breakfast or playing around and our house is fairly big, so it was around an hour before anybody heard me! I tried to reach my phone to call my step dad or someone, but I couldn't reach it without being put into even worse stabbing pains. It was my step brother who found me and his first thought was that the reason I was crying was boyfriend problems. So silly!

He got my step dad on the case and he got me some pain medicine and a piece of toast (it was good!), but even after the medicine had had time to kick in, I was still in a lot of pain, though it had dimmed down a bit. I began to feel around on my stomach and I noticed it felt a little swollen and big in the lower right area, where it hurt the most. That place, turned out, is where your appendix is, so our first thought was that I had appendicitis.

The pain still there, my mom (who was actually three hours away at the time) called a friend of ours from church who is a nurse to come and see if she could tell what's up. No joke, thirty seconds later she was pulling up in our driveway (Thank God for His people!). She felt around on my stomach and she was sure it was my appendix that was irritated. So as soon as my mom got back home, we took off to Urgent Care.

After peeing in a cup, having them feel around on my stomach, having my blood drawn, and several other check up stuffs done, the doctor determined that because the area that was hurting and bloated is the area where my appendix and an ovary are both located, it could either be appendicitis or an ovarian cyst and we wouldn't be able to know for sure without having a CAT scan done.

So we made our way to the hospital. My mom had to fill out more paperwork, and I had to drink this stuff that kind of tasted like lemonade except not as sweet because it had radiation and other stuff in it, for the scan to be done. It burned my throat a lot. Then, I had to wait an hour for the mysterious liquid to settle. Finally that hour was over and I was ready for the scan!

Physically, but not mentally.

I was honestly terrified. What if it was my appendix and I had to have surgery to get it removed, right before Christmas!? Yesterday was also me and my amazing boyfriend's two year anniversary, and I was really hoping to get to see him, but I guess God had different plans in mind. I kept my boyfriend's hoodie with me all day and not once let go of it unless I had to. I was scared.

For the scan I had to get an IV put in my arm, and that hurt like crap!!! It was the only thing I cried over yesterday (other than the stomach pain), but what hurt even worse was seeing my mom cry when she saw me cry. I hate to see her like that, but I know her tears meant she cares about me and loves me and hates to see me in so much pain. Through the IV they gave me some weird stuff that made me feel all warm inside and also made me feel like I was peeing my pants. But I wasn't really! Isn't the technology and medicine of today so cool!

Anyway, so the scan went well and we had to wait 45 minutes for the results. I was so scared for the results, but 45 minutes later they called us into a room and a doctor talked to my mom over the phone. "OK. OK. OK. OK." was literally all my mom said the entire time.

Turns out it was a cyst on my ovary and it had bursted that morning, explaining all of the pain. They said it should just heal on its own and the pain should go away within a few days. We just have to watch it very carefully because ovarian cysts can cause permanent infertility (meaning to lose the ability to have children). I want so bad to be a mommy so I can raise and show love to my children like my mom does for me. We just have to watch because if I continue to get the cysts (usually every couple of months), then I will have to be put on birth control pills to even out my estrogen and hormone level until my body can do that on it's own, which will stop the cysts. Thing is, I remember having something very similar to this happening a couple months ago, so let's just hope no more cysts appear and that everything will be okay with that.

Ovarian cysts are very common in teenage girls, They are the #1 reason that girls not on birth control have to be put on birth control, which really isn't the best thing for us to do as teenagers and young adults since our bodies are still developing. So please, you girls, be watchful and know your body.

Thank you for taking the time to read this! And also thank you to those of you who sent out prayers! I sincerely appreciate it! I could still use some until the pain goes away. I'm just grateful that it wasn't appendicitis and that I didn't need surgery. Praise be to GOD! He is my ROCK!

THANK YOU ALL!

God bless you have! Please be safe and make GOOD choices!!!
