On the first day God created light, making there day and night. On the fourth day he separated the day and night by creating the stars and two other lights, a greater light and a lesser light. He placed the greater light in the day and the lesser light in the night, so one can only assume that they are the sun and moon. But if that was the sun, then what was the light he created on the first day?

I've been caught in this Scripture for who knows how long, trying so hard to figure this out. I've even brought it up with a ton of friends and family, but still haven't been able to obtain a clear understanding of it all.

So what do you think?

What was the light created by God prior to the sun, moon, and stars?

Also, if the two lights God created on the fourth day actually were the sun and moon... In science we are taught that the moon simply reflects the light of the sun, but the Bible says that God created TWO LIGHTS. The moon is just a lesser light. It could just mean that it is just the source of light in the night because it IS where our light comes from, never mentioning how it produces the light, but the thing that gets me is that the Bible says God created two separate lights and then placed them in the day and night, so to me it seems as they don't have any affect on each other.

I DON'T KNOW!!! The only true way to find out is to simply wait until we get to Heaven and ask Jesus then, but I would still love to hear you all's opinion on these topics!
