Madelyn's P.O.V

Today is the day I get erased from this world. The headpiece is still on me, to prevent the monster within me from taking over.

I'm not a monster Madelyn, how many times must I say? I am you, I am the voice that belongs to you until you die.

That's not right, a voice in my head should listen to me...ME! I should be able to control myself, you shouldn't be able to do anything. Every second I'm talking to you, you make me go insane. The reason I can't think is because of you.

You're just upset that Gabrielle was hurt.

What else am I supposed to do? Not get upset to the fact that I hurt my only friend? The only person that cared about me, the only person that was okay with you around me?

Your friend is NOTHING but a fool. She will betray you one way or another.

And how do you know? You're nothing but a monster trying to kill everything I love.

Something grabbed my hand and dragged me outside...I could feel it...fresh air.

I started running with the unknown being that was dragging me somewhere, all I knew was that I was outside, running, with someone holding my hand...

After minutes passed, we stopped and this person sat me down and stripped the headband off. This mysterious person was...Gabrielle?

"Maddie!" She hugged while breathing heavily, it looks like she was hurt.

"Gabbie...?  What are you doing?!" I pushed her away from me

"I'm helping you..." She said with concern

"I DON'T WANT YOU TO HELP ME, CAN'T YOU SEE? I WANT TO DIE, I DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD, A WORLD WHERE PEOPLE GET HURT BECAUSE OF ME."

I looked up, there was more people staring at me...strangers...

Don't trust them!

Why not?  They seem like nice people, like you would understand though.

W-where am I?

I sat up in the bed I woke up in.  Everything was broken down, ruined.  It was dark, I looked around the room, no one was here.  It's my fault again, I probably killed all those innocent people, I'm alone again...with no one.  Suddenly, the door opened, I acted quickly and pretended to sleep

The footsteps came closer and it sounded like they sat next to the bed.  My heart was racing and my head was spinning, what was this person going to do?  What am I going to do?  Then, the person spoke:

"Hey, you seem to be doing well...I missed you..."

I didn't speak.

"Remember those good memories we had together as kids?"

It sounded like Gabrielle...her voice was soothing to be around.

Bitch.

Why are you so mean?  She dealt with us for as long as I can remember, at least shut up so I can be with the one person who can give two damns about me.

You have no right to say that to me, I am the being that allows you to think, without me, you're nothing.

Without you, I can be someone who doesn't have to hurt others.  Now, let me hear her out.

"It was so long ago, the times when you actually cared about people, the times when you cared about me...now look at you..."  She sniffled

What was she talking about?  I do care, I do care about people, you should know this...Gabbie...

"I know you're awake, I can feel it."

I stood up, knowing that she knows that I'm awake...

"Maddie!" She hugged me, I hugged her back

"How are you doing now?"  

"I'm good...I guess"

"Great!  There are some people I want you to meet" She said excitedly "Come on!"

She grabbed my hand once again and brought me outside, where 4 people were, 2 females and 2 male.

"Madelyn, this is Korine Zrifa, Nyaline Harleen, Legonine Brickson, and Jerome Greenwood."

"I think Jerome is the only normal name here" I chuckled, and so did everyone else

Then Korine whispered to Gabbie, and she nodded.  She turned to me and said

"Maddie, I'm sorry to have to keep you from this, I have lied to you, and it was wrong of me."  She said looking downward.

What is she talking about?  She lied to me?  About what?
