Creeping up from behind,

Your arms pull me close,

Snuggling against the chill.

We gaze at the stars

Your warm breath on my cheek,

Time appears to be standing still.

A whispered word

And you did it again,

My inner self begins to purr.

Our kiss lights a fire

That burns deep inside,

A need for something more.

There's a look in your eyes,

It's mirrored in mine,

My poor heart skips a beat.

This feeling you stir

Is foreign to me,

I'm afraid and my heart retreats.

Hiding from something

more,

Protection against what will follow.

But you feel the shiver
