Chapter 20

Among the three of them, Brody, Anton, and Lena brought back over 200 of the weapons from the storage room they had found, sinking Vanessa's spirits. While that trio unloaded their weapons and stored them in one of the cargo pods, Vanessa, Pepper, and Miles unloaded their assorted items from the bunk room for everyone to examine before packing them away.

"We'll have to see if we can find an alien Rosetta stone so we can decipher some of this writing," Brody murmured as he examined the fibrous sheets. "It could help us later, as we saw some writing that looked to be on signs near hatches too."

"Yes, that is something to be on the lookout for!" agreed Anton jovially. His mood was jubilant after the first day of exploration in the ship gave him what he would consider a rousing success. "I must say, it is a relief to be able to bring back all of this. I was worried that we might find nothing in the ship. The weapons alone could fund another trip!"

"That isn't a relief," countered Lena. "I'll tell you relief. I was seventeen, a senior in high school and I was late, if you know what I mean. So, I take a pregnancy test, and it comes back positive, I was freaking out, I couldn't handle having a kid that young! I head to the OB/GYN to get a blood test, and there are two other girls there with me in the waiting room."

"Friends of yours?" Brody interrupted.

"Shut up, no. Anyway, one of the girls was a redhead, and she was all excited. She claimed she was having a girl for sure because she was on top when they conceived. The other girl was a little less excited, evidently her boyfriend was on top, so she was convinced that she was going to have a boy and she doesn't like boys. Well, unless they're fucking her of course."

"Of course!" snickered Vanessa.

"Well, at that point I put my thinking cap on," Lena smirked, pointing to her blonde hair. "And I felt such a relief, because I knew that if I was pregnant, I was having puppies!"

"Oh my god!" Pepper chortled, holding on to a handle while she shoved Lena's shoulder and causing the blonde to roll into Miles.

"You can't have puppies!" Brody complained.

Lena looked at him, shocked. "Don't worry Brody, it is a delayed action joke. You'll get it later. Us blondes are allowed to make fun of themselves."

"Well, I don't care. But these clothes are going to be perfect for puppies," Brody commented, holding up one of the aliens' children's outfits. "People would pay a mint to outfit their dogs in these little alien outfits!" he added with a chuckle.

His comment was met with silence.

"This is where you tell us you're kidding, right?" Vanessa was disgusted with what he'd said, as were the rest of them. Anton just looked down with a frown.

"Oh, come on, we don't have to turn them all over. I bet there are a ton of outfits in there that we could sell." He continued.

"So, is this mission now all about making money? Should we just accept that now, or are we interested in more than that?" Vanessa snarled, looking between Brody and her father.

"Of course, it isn't about money!" Her father replied sternly. "But we do have to recoup the investment made for this journey."

"Then can we at least stop glorifying the profits? We found a lot of items today that could help unlock an entire alien culture and help us identify where they're from and how to go meet them. I would think that is at least as exciting as how much we can make on guns and selling puppy suits."

"That is a lot of money!"

"Brody, shut up," Pepper said. "You're acting like we just went shopping at the mall instead of exploring the inside of a fucking alien space craft. We didn't bring all this back to act like kids."

"Everyone, stop!" Bellowed Anton, his face flushed. "It has been an exciting day, and I'm sure we all have our own view on it. We have a lot more to explore, and I'm sure there will be many other wonders to take in. There is no need to be at one another's throats on the first day!"

"We did find a lot of interesting things in those drawers," Miles pointed out, bringing some from his pack. "These tablets, and these laser pointers seemed to be the most common. I didn't do a complete inventory, but I think there was at least one of each in almost every drawer."

"None of them work?" Anton asked, picking up the tablet and pressing some of the small buttons.

"Nope. If they used batteries like ours, then they've obviously been used up. They might also have cordless chargers that we missed, or some other way to charge them. There were no cords, that we could find," Miles explained the deductions he had made during his inspection.

"Are we sure the laser pointer isn't a weapon?" Brody asked, staring into the end, and pressing the other end in case it was a button.

"Dude, you'd be dead if it was," Lena laughed at him, causing him to blush in embarrassment.

"Why would I be dead? It might just be out of a charge," he complained.

"Not likely. All of their other weapons worked, they were very rugged," Miles stated. "If that was a weapon, it would work."

"And there wouldn't be so many in a berthing space, too much potential for accidents around kids," Pepper commented.

"Kids?" Anton asked, surprised.

"Yes, we've learned a lot about the aliens aboard that ship," Pepper smiled. "They're probably from a planet similar to ours, since they appear to be mammals, and carbon based, though perhaps a little colder since they retained their fur. They're a much more advanced species than us, so perhaps they evolved faster. There must be a system near them with enemies, as they have advanced weapons. Their home world may not be safe since they apparently sent this colony ship and escorts to our system. They may have been coming to earth to live now that I think about it. But their enemy caught up to them first."

"What enemy might that be?" Anton asked quietly.

"The larger ship, the ruined one. Every ship we've seen other than that one is the exact same design, same manufacturing style, just in different sizes. That is completely unique and most likely from a different species, and they appear to have had a battle here. It looks like everyone lost," Pepper explained.

"That is an interesting theory," Anton nodded. "It might even be true. But we can't prove it."

"No, not yet," countered Vanessa. "But we haven't had much time to explore, we may find a lot more evidence of that."

"Well, we'll certainly be on the lookout for signs of what might have happened between the ships. But in the meantime, let's get some rest people!" Anton commanded.

A short time later, Pepper lay tangled in Nessa's arms under the weighted blanket, her lips sucking lightly on her neck as Vanessa hummed in appreciation. The discussion about the items found on the ship had worn them out mentally, and the stress of the trip was getting to them. Maybe the chemistry that they had hoped for when picking out the crew wasn't working so well?

Luckily, they had a perfect stress relief plan.

Vanessa felt Pepper's hands slowly slide down her spine, leaving a trail goosebumps behind like the wake of a boat. Hands gripped her ass, pulling her closer so that Pepper's thigh was pressed between her own, letting them build friction between each other as they slowly moved, trying not to float away this time.

Vanessa couldn't help but smile at Pepper, though it turned to a gasp as she felt her questing fingers slide between her cheeks and tease her from behind. Pepper smirked at her, knowing she has Nessa under her control, just where she liked her. She had never been a sexual person, but Nessa had awakened a beast within her that was unable to be satisfied.

She had just slipped her head under the blanket, lazily circling Nessa's nipple with her tongue when the hatch to their bunk room was opened. Anton took a few steps in, his magnetic boots clomping along, and Pepper immediately scooched away from Vanessa on the bunk.

"Father, we're trying to rest, was this really necessary?" Vanessa growled. Pepper glanced between the two, unsure of whether she should speak up.

"I just wanted to talk to you about the theories you proposed between the ships," he smiled thinly.

"We can discuss that tomorrow, we're resting now," Vanessa sniped back.

"Fine, tomorrow it is," Anton concluded, slipping back out of the cabin.

"Well, that was a mood killer!" Vanessa complained. "Sometimes he drives me insane!"

"Nessa, it isn't like we have to make love every day," Pepper smiled, slowly moving her hands back to where they had been. "But we both know that I can get him off your mind real fast if you like."

"Yes please!" Nessa sighed happily. "I need the entire day off my mind!"

"Trust me, when I'm done your mind won't be able to remember your own name!" Pepper's hands slid down Vanessa's body once more as her head dipped under the blanket. Soon, the cabin was filled with nothing but gasps and moans of ecstasy.
