In Hoseok's car

Hoseok watched intently as I gently opened the gift. As I lifted the silvery tissue paper out of the small silver box, I saw a beautiful pair of silver studded earrings.

The earrings were shaped like roses in full bloom while the edges were lined with shimmery pink stones. I covered my mouth in awe at how beautiful these looked, blushing at the thought of how expensive they must have been!

I looked over at Hoseok to thank him and I realised that he was already waiting for me to say something.

"So, do you like it Princess?" Hoseok asked me with baited breath.

"Yes! They're beautiful Hoseok oppa. I love it! Thank you very much!" I blushed a bright red.

I placed a kiss on his right cheek as a way of thanking him.

But as I moved away from his face, I noticed a blush of brilliant red fanning out immediately from the spot my lipstick had left a mark. It was adorable.

Hoseok sat quietly in the driver's seat, blushing crimson, which was a stark contrast to the flirty behaviour he had displayed after the reading of the Will.

I was hoping he wouldn't be so quiet, since I wanted to get to know him more.

He seemed so full of energy on the first day that I met him. Even from the little that I remember of him at school, I recall him being the one that was always fidgeting or jumping around the school hallways or grounds.

Hoseok always had enough energy for at least five other people and naturally had excelled at sports at school.

So it wasn't a total surprise when I finally found out where he was taking me today. Hoseok had booked the two of us a day out at an extremely popular theme park. I absolutely loved theme parks and was excited from the moment he had let on where we were going.

"Oppa! Omg! Are we there yet? I can't wait!" I bounced excitedly in my seat. We'd been driving for the last twenty minutes or so.

But I had to give the man credit. He certainly had a lot of patience with me.

I think this quality would make him a brilliant father too!

I can actually imagine having children with him!

(I need to ask them how that would work... We need to decide how many children we'll be having. Because I doubt I can do more than seven...)

Yikes... Halmoni set me up here!

I'm going to have their babies?!!!

"We are almost there Haneul." He chuckled, his smile was beautiful and the way his eyes lit up had captivated me.
Hoseok took my hand in his as he stopped at the last traffic light.

"You know sweetheart... It's been so long since we actually did anything together. Namjoon and the others used to see you more when you were still at school." He glanced up at me, stroking my hand gently.

"I actually remember that Hoseok. I always wondered why you avoided me." I answered honestly.

I remembered that Hoseok was always busy and then he went into the military to serve earlier than he was scheduled to.

Flashes of memories poured into my head, bringing with them a dull thumping headaches. I blinked away the headache, used to the sensation whenever I remembered something.

"I'm sorry Haneul, I was always busy trying to be a good son to my family. It's hard to be the third eldest in the family when your two older cousins are always doing things first. I guess I just tried to do something that would make my parents proud of me." He shrugged apologetically.

"But you know sweetheart, you should never sit back and wait for me. You're at perfect liberty to drag me by my ear if you need to get my attention. You're my fiance after all." Hoseok grinned at me, letting go of my hand to take hold of the wheel again.

"I'll do that Hosoek oppa. I feel like we have more ground to cover. There's a lot we need to talk about before our wedding day." I admitted, blushing as the topic of our wedding arose.

"Yes Jagiya, we have a lot to talk about." He winked at me as he took off again when the traffic light turned green.
"By the way Jagiya... Please call be Hobi. You don't have to address me by my full name and it's okay if you don't want to call me oppa. I'd prefer if you picked a name you feel more comfortable with for me." Hobi explained as we drove on past Lotte World.

"Okay Hobi." I smiled warmly at him.

Hobi looked at me lovingly then reached over and placed a kiss on my cheek.

5 minutes later...

We had finally reached out destination. It was the biggest themed park in Seoul. Hobi slowed down outside the parking lot. It took him two seconds to find a suitable parking spot...

... because the entire park was empty!

He quickly got off and opened the door for me to jump out as well.

The sun had begun to set, tinting the entire park in a beautiful orangey hue.

"Surprise Haneul! We have the park all to ourselves!" Hobi exclaimed enthusiastically, grabbing me by my waist and spinning me around happily.

I held on to his shoulders, our eyes locking. We laughed as a mutual understanding passed between us. Hoseok put me down and held me for a few minutes. We stood there in an embrace, no words needed.

Apart from the thrill of my fiance swinging me happily in the air, I felt myself falling for Jung Hoseok. It was his bright and bubbly personality, his upfront mannerisms and his loving nature.

I just couldn't help myself.

"Ommo! I can't believe it Hobi!" I grinned brimming with excitement still a little euphoric from our moment.

Hobi rocked me in from side to side, still holding on tight.
I silently thanking the heavens that decided to go with high top sneakers, denim jeans and baseball jacket as well as a white print t-shirt. Hobi matched my style, wearing full black instead of the black and white that I opted for.

He was still holding on to me as he took me through the special tour he had planned.

"I'm so glad you're with me Haneul. I hope you don't mind the empty park. I wanted to make it up to you for all those times we barely spent time together in the past." Hobi kissed my cheek again.
"It's okay Hobi. I'm just glad that we can finally spend time together now." I blushed at the touch of his lips against my skin and I was conscious that he had an arm wrapped possessively around my waist.

It made me feel both safe and loved. And if I'm really honest, it did something else as well...

I felt myself relax in his arms, only realising how nervous I was until I had relaxed against him. I'm glad I have Hobi in my life...

I didn't know I needed someone like him. Observant and caring.

He noticed things and tried to help before it became a big deal.

Once I relaxed, Hobi took me by the hand, leading me to the front desk where the activities were on display, an arm was still wrapped around my waist, protectively.

Noticing the bottles of spring water lined up on the reception desk, I decided to take one for later, knowing that I will definitely need it.

I noticed the weird receptionist eyeing us out of the corner of my eye and I also noticed the cameras zoom in on Hobi and me as we walked through the admin area, clearing our passes.

I just need more intel before I raised the alarm with my handsome fiance. I didn't want to put him on edge just yet. Besides, it's the first time I'm spending any quality time alone with him.

"Jagiya? What's the matter?" Hobi asked me, noticing how distracted I was.
"It's nothing oppa." I assured him, not wanting to stir suspicion.

"Hmmm, so... What does my precious fianceé want to do first?" He asked, his infectious smile focused entirely on me.

"Well... looking at the flyer, I see they have so many interesting rides for us to try out. But I really want to try out the Rollercoaster! Let's go on the roller coaster please, Hobi??" I batted my eyelashes at him, hoping he'd agree.

"Okay, baby. Let's try it out." He smiled, taking hold of my hand and walked forwards towards the ride.

"Two tickets for the rollercoaster please." Hobi asked the teller at the entrance to the ride.
"Here you go sir. Enjoy the ride miss." The man wished us.

Within minutes, we were admitted into the area and the operator lowered the cars for us to choose one to our liking.

There were a total of twenty-five cars to choose from, each painted a bright colour, visible in the night lights that shone throughout the park. In the short while it had taken us to walk through reception and pick a ride, the sky had darkened quite significantly.

It was clear that Hobi really wanted some privacy with me, because he had gone all out to book the entire park for us alone. In addition, he'd picked late in the evening, so that we would have some privacy as we spoke and shared more intimate moments as a couple.

Because, he is my fiance.

"I think the blue is the best option oppa. It's the cleanest from the other cars and it's closer to the middle of the chain of cars." I decided, finally picking a car.
"Whatever you say, my angel." Hobi said to me, kissing my cheek again.
I felt the operator staring at us, but I chose to ignore it.

He's probably just surprised to see such a happy couple. I said to myself, brushing it off.

We boarded our chosen car, and Hobi helped me in before following me into the car. An attendant helped us buckle in and left us to settle down while they checked the other cars in tow.

The operator called out to us and my fiance signalled with a thumbs up that we were good to go.

Within a few minutes, we were hurtling towards the peak of the ride, while Hobi and I screamed at the top of our lungs. Both of us were terrified of heights but had chosen to do something new.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh.... Haneul......" Hobi gripped my hand tightly, screaming as the car dipped, nose first from the zenith of the ride, slowly inching towards the ground, a hundred and fifty metres below.

Building enough momentum, our weight adding to the effect, we plummeted earthward, screaming out at the top of our lungs with a mixture of glee and terror.

Wwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh..... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Hobi and I had clung onto each other, my face buried in the crook of his neck, as we felt the weightlessness of our fall.

But then suddenly, with a creak and a clank, the car was caught on a stray bar jutting off the track.

We were now dangling from the edge of the bar at least fifty metres above the ground. It was still a dangerous fall should something happen and we lost our grip.

Stay positive Haneul!

Happy thoughts!

Happy thoughts!

"I've got you Haneul. We'll be okay." Hobi assured me, his arm protectively around me.

"L- let's see how we can get off the ride oppa." I suggested as we looked around for the operator and his assistant.

But the two staff members were no where to be seen!

The sky had darkened completely now, and the stars were out twinkling away happily in the inky black heavens above us.

I silently prayed to all the Gods that were listening.

Please save us.
Please save us.
Please save us.

Suspended this high up in the night air wasn't a good idea. The temperature began to drop, Hobi my only source of body heat as my body shivered violently against his.

"Are you alright Jagiya?" Hoseok asked me running his hands across my arms vigorously, attempting to warm me up.
But the motion had caused the car to creak a little more and we gripped each other in terror.

Panic began to build up inside me, but Hosoek had noticed.

"Yes Hobi. Let's try to call for help first." I said, not wanting to add to his growing stress.

Hobi fished out his cellphone from is Jean's pocket and tapped the screen. It blinked and died out.

"I- uh... Ssi-bal... My phone's battery just died." He swore, then grimaced at me apologetically.
"I'm sorry. I forgot to charge my phone Jagiya. It's a bad habit of mine."
"Gwaenchanah - it's fine, really!" I assured him.

We tried to find our footing, giving up on falling anyone as I didn't know who to call. I only had my boss's number, my Appa's number and my seven fiances' numbers.

"Jagiya, I'm really sorry this has turned into a date from hell." He turned to face me.

We were peaking over the edge of the car, trying not to swing it off balance.
Hobi gently bent forwards, seeing as he was taller and gazed down, assessing the situation.

"I'll make it up to you, I promise." He whispered, gently touching his forehead to mine.

He smelled like spice and leather. I wanted to bury my nose in his chest.

Not now Haneul! You're dangling from a pole in mid air, fifty metres above the ground.

"Don't stress oppa. It'll be something worth telling our children." I joked.
"Children? Hmmm.... So you're confirming that you want a lot of children with me?" He cocked an eyebrow at me sexily, as his voice deepened.

"I- uh... I meant all the children I have with the seven of you..." I blushed.

"Awww is my Haneul blushing now?" He teased me.

The distraction seemed to be working as we managed to climb out the car without much excitement and found our footing down a ladder built into the support structure of the rollercoaster's track.

Hoseok insisted that he go first, in case there was another threat.

He fished out a tiny flashlight, which surprised me, and held it between his lips as he climbed down. Some of his military training on display.

I followed suit, carefully balancing my cellphone's flashlight in one hand, slinking the ring attached to the cover through my middle finger, while trying to climb and maintain my own balance.

It was a little risky, but I also couldn't risk missing a foothold or I'd go plummeting down to my death before my wedding day.

Hobi wasn't too far below, silent as he held the tiny flashlight in his mouth. He stopped for a second, looking up at me, checking to see if I was alright. I know if there was any imminent danger, he would have alerted me by now.

We were making good progress.

Until...

About more than halfway down, however, our date from hell had taken a turn for the worst.

⚠️

Hobi had slipped on a rung and cut himself as he lost balance, on an open ended bar as he fell to the ground below.

I desperately called out for help, unable to help him myself as I was still climbing my way down the metal bars. I reached the last few rungs, hopping off, not caring about myself. My ankle might have been sprained in the process, but I didn't care.

My fiance was injured.

"Hoseok! Hoseok-ah... t-talk to me Yeobo." I pleaded, checking for consciousness.

Thankfully it was only a few metres away from the ground. He might have broken the fall with his arm, but... he still didn't look so good, he could have worsened the injury with the impact of his fall. And there was no way of determining if a piece of the metal was still in him or how bad the bleeding was without me assessing his wound head on.

He was bleeding on the tarmac.
I needed to act now.

My heart jumped into my throat, and I was frozen to the spot by terror.

What am I going to do?
