11 - Swallow for me

There was nothing but silence in the restaurant.

'Were they closed?' I wondered.

It seemed that my fiances frequented this space often, owing to the special treatement we all received from the staff.

Seokjin clearly was the one who most frequented this restaurant of all my new fiances.
It was easy to see by the ease at which he sauntered in and by the way with which he conversed with the staff. They seemed to know him on a first name basis too!

According to Jimin, who was standing beside me, contemplating if he should hold my hand or not, the restaurant was currently closed, but allowed us to dine owing to the fact that they were special friends of Seokjin's.

The chef had left the kitchen to speak with Seokjin personally at the reception desk; while the rest of us were shown to a large table by a friendly waiter who was sent to greet the rest of us at the door.

"Haneul, please sit with me?" Yoongi asked politely, taking me by the hand to guide me into the booth seat he had selected for us.

The table was comfortably large enough for the eight of us to eat and converse in privacy. There was a partition that Taehyung had pulled closed when we had all settled down.
Red lanterns hanging around the booth lit the space, suspended from the ceiling and from brackets on either end of the corner that Yoongi and I shared.

"I wanted to talk to you a little more." Yoongi whispered as he handed me a menu.
The two of us looked at the menu together, Yoongi clearly observing my tastes as he worked up a chat.

When the other five men had worked up a conversation that had absorbed their attention, I glanced at Yoongi again, hoping to have that conversation he wanted to have.

"Hi" I said shyly to him.
"Hi" He grinned back handsomely. "How are you?" He asked, genuinely.
"I'm okay... I guess." I shrugged at him making a face. "And how are you?" I returned the question.

"I'm good... And I haven't been for a while. Until..." He trailed off, his eye contact conveying the rest of his sentence.

Then he asked: "How do you feel about this whole husband situation? Are you comfortable with us being your husbands? And a plural at that?"

"Ne (yes)" I responded emphatically. "It's just... I know that I knew all of you in school and I know we weren't very close.... I mean... I was close with Jimin..."

Yoongi looked at me encouragingly when I paused.

"... but I feel so guilty for not really investing any effort into getting to know all of you properly. I know you're all a lot older than me, but I feel like you looked for me and I didn't see you all for who you are... it's as if I woke up one day and I just didn't know you... As if I'd forgotten you... And I can't understand what happened, but it hurts. It hurts so much and no one has an answer for me. Not even Dr. Min."

I stopped talking and Yoongi looked at me with keen interest. He'd been listening intently the entire time.

Now, however, he put an arm around me, and and whispered:
"It's okay Haneul. We can help you. But I won't stress you out now. We can talk more when I get to have my date with you. I promise you there is more to it than just waking up one morning and feeling like you have forgotten something or someone - or lots of someones in our case." He chuckled and I smiled at his beautiful gummy grin.

My heart felt a lot lighter after he spoke to me

Yoongi took hold of my hand as he continued, playing with my fingers and inspecting my palms as if ancient truths were hidden there while he continued talking to me about all the things he wants to do together on our date.

"Haneul, do you know what my last name is?" He asked suddenly.

"Min?" I asked, scrunching my nose up in thought.
Yoongi chuckled at the face I made.

My eyes widened with understanding.

"Oh... You're related... Well that makes sense I suppose." I trailed off. I didn't want to dive into that topic just yet, lest my headache returned.

Yoongi nodded in understanding as I spoke. His words were comforting and I felt more sane after talking to him.
He patiently listened and answered every question of mine.
I told him everything. About the day I woke up in a hospital room feeling more alone than the day my parents had died.

Watching Yoongi as he spoke to me made me slowly want to reach out and hold him. I liked when he held me earlier.

I have never felt this safe before in my entire life. His lips looked soft and his eyes sparkled as he spoke about his work and his favourite foods.

I felt my heartbeat increase and swore the whole restaurant could hear me.

"So you see, princess, we're all in this together."
He lowered his menu and I did the same; Yoongi ceasing the opportunity to hold my hand under the table. Butterflies fluttered in my tummy when his fingers interlocked with mine.

I looked at him in surprise, and he flashed me a small smile with a wink that sent my heart flipping in it's own little cartwheels. I think but now, I was probably the exact shade as the bottle of ketchup sitting between Jimin and me.

The others were still in deep conversation, probably about work, sport or current affairs.

Yoongi took hold of my hand, again, under the table as he called the waiter over to order.
Seokjin, who had finally joined us, noticed Yoongi calling the waiter over and called out to him across the table for eight.

"Yoongi, I've already ordered the food." Seokjin said, smiling.
"What about the drinks?" Yoongi chuckled, he definitely knew his hyung's forgetful habits.

"Ommo... I forgot about that..." Seokjin exclaimed, smacking his hand against his forehead but he smiled at me apologetically. I shook my head smiling at him, a silent understanding passed between us.

"I got the drinks Jin hyung, I even got Haneul her favourite flavour of soda." Jimin piped up.

"Just because you've spent the most time with Haneul, doesn't mean you get to show off about it Jimin-ni." Hoseok teased him.

Hoseok it seemed, loved to tease the others. He dressed so sexily, which contributed to my perpetual blush deepening as his eyes met mine.
I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through a date with him. Just looking at him now made made me so shy!

Of course I'm ignoring the unholy thoughts that are running through my mind now that I have all seven fiances in front of me.

"I agree with Hobi hyung, Jimin hyung... you should wait a couple of days more before you spend more time with Haneul. That will let the rest of us catch up on time spent with her." Taehyung sulked comically. We knew he was only acting, Taehyung loved to act dramatically for things like this.

Seokjin, Yoongi and Hoseok chuckled at this, but Jimin, who was sitting with Taehyung, kicked him comically under the table in response.

"You do realise Jungkook was there too, right? He dropped Haneul off at her flat because I had to rush off to meet with a client after lunch. Ask Haneul since you don't want to believe me! Besides... I only know this since she spat her drink at me in surprise yesterday when she found out about the marriage!" Jimin pouted.

All seven of my fiances looked at me, waiting for my answer.

" Hey! You don't need to fight. And that was an accident! Besides... Jimin's right you know. But he lost a game of gawi-bawi-po (rock, paper, scissors) to Jungkook, so Jimin had to let him take me home instead." I laughed as I recalled the memory, unconsciously resting my head on Yoongi's shoulder. He looked at me, his lips centimeters away from mine.

Hoseok cleared his throat, there was a mischievous gleam in his eyes and a sexy smirk pasted across his gorgeous lips.

"I do hope you two don't plan on kissing right here in front of me." Seokjin teased Yoongi and me.

He was going to be taking me out on a date first. 'So, I guess I'll be having my first kiss with him.'

"No, hyung. Of course not." Yoongi looked away from me, his cheeks turning a rosy colour.

"I er... Wouldn't just kiss one of you in front of the others." I explained, hoping that would ease matters.

Just then, as if on cue, the food arrived.

Everyone, including me, reached out and dug in to the spread of delicious traditional food.
I sampled the gimbap, sighing at how delicious it was.
But before I could grab my own bowl, all my fiances began to feed me.

Namjoon, who was sitting on my left, insisted on feeding me all the bulgogi gimbap laid before him.

When I didn't want to eat any more, he coaxed me to have something sweet instead.
But I refused, 'like a stubborn little girl' - according to him. I don't think he understands that if he keeps feeding me at this rate, I was going to gain weight!

"Swallow for me baby girl." Namjoon crooned in my ear.

I tried very hard not to react to his choice of words. However, the close proximity of his body to mine and the feel of his lips pressed to my ear had sent shivers down my spine.

To my dismay, the others had caught me blushing and Hoseok, who has the dirtiest mind from the seven of them, called me out!

"Looks like our Haneul's getting a little flustered there Joonie. Try not to tease her on the first day."

Tuning them out, I chewed on my food, focusing on how delicious the gimbap was. Namjoon seemed to enjoy teasing me, the nerdy tease like him.

"Eat up Haneul. I know that Seokjin hyung and Yoongi hyung are going to love feeding you when we marry you. They cook the best food among the seven of us." He grinned as he fed me yet another slice of the gimbap before him.

'Well fuck me sideways... Good looking and they can cook?'

And here I thought I'd be doing all the cooking!

'I wonder what else they can do in the kitchen... Ahem...' I cleared my throat, hoping to wash away the dirty thoughts I had of all seven of them in the kitchen with me while I baked or cooked.

Lord please help me!

Seven husbands!? I'm definitely going to be a busy wife, and very soon.

I blinked away the thoughts. But Namjoon had opened the floodgates.

Damn...

"Yeah, just don't let Taehyung and Namjoon in the kitchen at the same time." Jin advised me with another one of his nerve-melting winks. Everyone around us laughed hard at that.

I wonder what they get up to if their older brother is advising me to never have them both in the same kitchen.

Taehyung poured me more cooldrink, since I didn't drink alcohol much. He also insisted on swapping places with Namjoon, and took over the "duty" of feeding me gimbap.

Jungkook then swapped with Taehyung and fed me some of his ramen. While Jimin decided that he'd feed me dessert.

I really liked how much faith they had in my stomach. After all the food they had fed me, I still had space for the mochi they ordered. Jimin swapped with Jungkook and fed me mochi.

But he also pinched my cheeks as if to suggest that they were like mochi too.

"Hey! You're the snack not me!" I said to him, pinching his cheek while we all laughed.
The others had lots of stories to share, which I drank in, wanting to learn as much as possible about my future husbands.

Jin, Yoongi and Hoseok sat back and tried to maintain the chaos, while watching the maknae feed me, with huge smiles on their faces.

It was settled, after our chaotic family lunch that the eldest, Seokjin oppa, will get to spend time with me before the others...
And Jimin and Jungkook weren't happy about being the last to take me out on a date before our wedding.
