Chapter 35: Prepare for Trouble! (Part 1)
Sorry I haven't updated in a little bit. Recent lack of motivation and other personal things happening right now. Not to mention my birthday is next week😖😖
But I read everyone's suggestions and ideas for the 30k chapter and chapter ideas in general and I want to say thank you for all of them, it's really helpful and it makes me both very surprised still, but happy to know that you all are still very interested in this.
Anyways, onward with the story, thank you for being patient 💜

The morning sun was just about over the horizon, creating a small amount of light in the sky. Freddy slowly opened his eyes as they glowed in the remaining darkness. Looking over at Bendy's bed, he noticed that the little demon wasn't in bed, along with his bed sheets and blankets untidy.
The bear sighed, walking off his stand and walked downstairs. He was about to head into the kitchen to make breakfast, when suddenly he heard a- *CRASH!*
Startled and confused, he wondered where that sound came from, till he heard it again. *CRASH!* It sounded like it came from outside. So with a bit of caution, Freddy peeked out the window in the living room and saw something he didn't expect.
Bendy was outside destroying a light post with a giant hammer. With another swing of it, the light post crumbled even more with another loud *CRASH!* More confusion struck Freddy as he wondered why Bendy was doing something like that. Freddy hastily opened the front door and called out to the cartoon.
"Bendy!" The cartoon suddenly stopped himself from taking another swing and noticed Freddy at the front door. "Oh! Good morning Fred!" Bendy smiled cheerfully. "Bendy, what are you doing?!" "Oh..this?" He looked down at the destroyed light post and sighed.
"Fred..Imma be honest with ya. When I woke up this mornin', I really felt the need to cause some destruction. So..here we are!" "But you're destroying property!" "Who's property?" "No Bendy, I mean you can't just go around destroying things! What if you get into trouble for doing that!" "Weeell..there's a good chance that we won't right?"
"We?" "Yeah! Ya wanna destroy things with me?" Freddy stood in place, mouthy agape, not knowing exactly what to say. "Bendy, I think this is a bad idea. You're going to get in trouble if you keep doing this." "Buuut, if we're smart about it, then maybe then we wouldn't get caught." The bear facepalmed, sighing deeply.
"Come on! We can do it while it's still really early and when no one is up yet. Pleeeesse?" Freddy sighed again. It's amazing how Bendy was technically older than him, yet Freddy has to be the "parent" sometimes towards him.
Fred stood in place for a few moments, before walking inside and closing the door. Bendy was left standing there, not really knowing what to do since Freddy didn't give his answer. Suddenly the front door opened again and out came Freddy, who said nothing as he walked out the house. Bendy watched as Freddy walked over to the nearest trash can
and lit it on fire with a lighter.
The can burst into flames and thankfully did not speared anywhere else. Bendy put away his hammer behind his back, making it disappear (You know? Cartoon logic??) and ran towards Freddy. They both stood in silence, watching the flames slowly eat away the trash. A small smirk crept across Freddy's mouth. He forgot how..exciting it was to light something on fire.
The animatronic looked down at Bendy who looked back up at his friend. He looked in disbelief that his robot friend could have the guts to do something like this. "Only for a little bit." The bear proposed. Bendy's face lit up with excitement, smiling from ear to ear. "Hopefully Neighbor can make the breakfast instead." "I'm sure he will, Fred. Come on!"
The two set off to wreak some havoc in the neighborhood. Bendy decided that he would use a chainsaw this time. His mischievous smile grew as the chainsaw sprung to life. He began cutting down lampposts, signs and people's mailboxes, giggling to himself. Meanwhile, Freddy kept burning trash cans.
"That's all ya burnin' Fred?" "I don't want to accidentally burn down someone's house." "I uh..guess ya right." The demon then suddenly got an idea. "Hey! What if I cut down a car?" Freddy immediately wiped his head around towards Bendy. "I thought you said we were going to be smart about this." "We are. And we're also going to be sneaky about it." "But-" It was too late. Bendy was already running off with his chainsaw to find the perfect vehicle to destroy. "Bendy!" Freddy shouted as he ran after him.
He soon found the demon in front of a car, which by the look of its location he found it in...it belonged to the RPG house. Freddy finally caught up with Bendy as stood beside him. "This is perfect.." Bendy smiled widely. The animatronic looked down at the cartoon with VERY questionable eyes. "Are you sure?" "Yes.." "Are you completely and absolutely sure with your-" "Yes.." With a couple pulls on the chainsaw's pull cord, it came to life again as Bendy readied himself to begin cutting. He suddenly stopped when he and Freddy heard running footsteps behind them. They sounded like they we're coming towards them. The fast footsteps stopped as both friends looked behind them to see who it was.
"Mae?" Freddy asked confused on why she was even here. The cat tried to speak through her heavy breathing. "Crimes*huff* I smell crimes*huff huff* Where are the crimes?*huff*" Bendy turned off the chainsaw for the time being and looked just as baffled as Freddy did. "Mae, what ya doin' here?"
"You guys are going crimes right?" "Yup! Correct-o-moondo!" "How did you know?" Freddy asked. "I scented it! So I came running as fast as I could! And I brought my bat!" "That's great! Ya can help us destroy this car then!" "But doesn't that belong to.." Mae looks up at the house they were nearby, realizing who this car belongs to, before smirking. "I've been waiting for this day."
Mae readys her bat as Bendy smirks, starting up his chainsaw again. "Ok. You two. I don't think we should be messing-" *CRASH!* *BRRRRRRRRRRR* .....and it was too late.
Mae already did massive damage to the front window and side door of the car and Bendy was already slicing the front of the car in half. And Freddy stood there, completely unsure of what to do. The car is just getting more and more wreaked in front of him. And at this point, with all of this noise nearby, it's only a matter of time before-
"HEY!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY CAR?!!" A black and white guy wearing a baseball outfit shouted out the window.
"RUN!!" Bendy hid his chainsaw (behind his back I guess) as all three of them ran as fast as their legs could carry them. "In the bushes quick!!" Bendy exclaimed as they ducked under the greenery. They remained still and silent as they heard the same guy approach. "Where did they go...?" The man's voice sounded low, but bitter and angry, for good reasons. "Could have sworn I saw them go this way..." The man pasted around the area a couple of times, holding his bat firmly in his hand.
When he finally gave up, he scoffed and walked away, his footsteps getting further and further away. The three of them sighed in relief. "Ok. I think we're done with plan. We should go back now." The bear suggested, though it was more like he was certain of his suggestion. "No Fred! I ain't done causin' some destruction." "We are not causing more trouble for these people Bendy." "But I have an idea where we could break more things!" "Where?" Mae asked, sounding interested. "Follow me." The three crawled out of the bushes and followed Bendy to wherever they were going.
^^^^^^^^^
"The bus stop?" Freddy questioned Bendy. "No, we gotta wait for the bus." And they did just that. They sat down on the beach and waited. 5 minutes later and the bus finally showed.
"Not this one." Bendy stopped the two from getting on. "I thought you said wait for the bus. And it's here!" Mae was just as confused as Fred, but Bendy just smirked. "Right..Not THIS bus...the next bus. That's the bus we're gettin on." The other two didn't question it any further and waited. Maybe it was a different bus to get to this certain place that Bendy was trying to go. They didn't even know where Bendy wanted to go yet.
Nevertheless, 10 more minutes went by and another bus arrived. "The bus is here! Let's go!" Bendy cheerfully lead the way into the vehicle. Yet, nothing was out of the ordinary. The bus looked the same, inside and out. So why did they need to take a specific bus? Where are they going?
"Uh Bendy..where are we going?" Freddy asked as he and Mae took a seat. "Just wait and see..get comfy.." The other two sat in their seats confused and a little nervous to where this bus was taking them.
They sat in silence, noticing that Bendy looked more and more excited as the bus drove on. He practically was jumping with excitement when the bus took a turn and headed down to this odd and very dark tunnel.
"Uhh..Bendy??" "Just close ya eyes till we're out, even though the tunnel's really dark." "But..why?" Mae asked. "Just trust me!" Reluctantly, they agreed and closed their eyes, right before they reached the tunnel and darkness surrounded them all.
....
"Ok..ya can open ya eyes!"
"Surprise!" Bendy giggle excitedly. "Look out the window guys!" The little demon continued to jumping in his seat like a little kid as he looked out the window. The other two looked too and-
Oh my god..
A village-no..A town..FULL OF BLACK AND WHITE CARTOONS!! It's like they've traveled back in time..to the 1920s! Neither Freddy or Mae could believe their eyes, they couldn't even take their eyes away from the window. Bendy giggled some more as the bus finally came to a stop. He hopped off his seat and tapped his friends on the shoulder. "Hey ya, we're here." Finally getting their attention and snapping them out of the trance, they left the bus together.
As they were getting off the bus, the bus itself waved goodbye to them with its left tire (yeah you read that right). Stunned and shocked all at the same time, Bendy was the only one waved back, giving a friendly smile. The bus returned the smile, driving off soon after. The demon stood proudly, letting Freddy and Mae get a feel for the place.
The place was nothing like they've ever seen before. Everything was different. The buildings. The streets. The vibe. Even the color. There was no color. Only monochrome. And nothing but old cartoon characters.
"Bendy...is this..?" The bear spoke up. Bendy smiled widely. "Yup!" He raised his arms in the air. "Welcome to Toontown! As known as my hometown!"
"This is cool! We're gonna cause trouble here!?" Mae excitedly asked, continuing to take in the new world around her. "Oh no. Not "here". I know an actually place to continue mischief. Follow me." They followed Bendy as they walked a few blocks downtown.
"Did Cuphead and Mugman live here too?" Freddy asked Bendy. "I think they lived in the more colored part of town. Ya keep going uptown and pass under another bridge to find yaself there. But we ain't goin' there, the place where we're goin' should be around here.."
They continued to follow the little demon till they stopped at a big old run-down abandoned building. Bendy smirked to himself and walked to the side of the building. There, they found a bordered up window. "Mae, would ya like to do the honors?" "We're going to do some crimes here?" Mae asked looking at the bordered up window. "Yeah! No one's here either way." "Bendy, we're trust passing on something's property." Freddy spoke, thinking this also wasn't a good idea. "Fred, it's fiiiiiiine. Mae, ya still wanna break this?"
The cat shrugged. "Sure thing." With one foul swing of her bat, the wooden boards broke. "Ladies first!" Bendy let Mae hop in through the window first, before he went inside as well. Freddy sighed and followed the other two through the window.
^^^^^^^
Their feet landed on hard wooden floor. Mae and Freddy examined the dusty and abandoned room, which looked like it hasn't been used in years. "Alright! We can take down this WHOLE place, from head to toe! Don't let the mess around here bug ya, just destroy everything ya see!" Bendy seemed excited about his words. "Even the walls?" Mae asked for clarification. "Yes! Even the walls! Just make sure ya don't cause this place to collapse while we're in it." Mae did a little victory cheer, but Freddy still wasn't completely sure about this. Bendy seemed pretty confident about this place, which concerned Freddy. A question ran through his mind, almost like it was a hunch.
"Do you..know about this place Bendy?" Freddy asked. "Ehh...it's a stupid run down building, so I wouldn't know anythin' about this place. Besides! Who cares if we destroy it? No one's been here for years anyways.."
Bendy went his separate way and Mae was excitedly going to as well. "Hold on." Freddy stopped her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Dude, what's wrong?" Mae asked clearly confused. "Don't you think..this is a bit weird?" "What? How?" "Well..for one, I think Bendy does know about this place." "How do you know that?" "If you think about it, he knew exactly where to go to find this place and he even wants us to destroy things here.." "I mean..who's gonna stop us from destroying things here? He did say this was abandoned, so what's the problem?" "I know but..something...just isn't right.."
"..So what do you want to do?" "I kind of want to explore for now..maybe we should see what this place actually is first, before we do anything." Mae sighed, putting her bat on her shoulder. "You might be being a bit too cautious, but if you think we should..then I'll believe you."
And so, they started exploring. The place was covered with dust and cobwebs, making it true that no one was here for quite a while. They found old drawing desks that looked to be rusted and old paper scattered the place. Some areas were even hard to get to because of the wooden boards blocking the way. Though, with Mae, it was no problem, using her bat she smashed her way through, opening up more areas. Throughout their search, the two found something black on the floor. Out of curiosity, Mae careful exclaimed the black-like substance, before hesitantly taking a bit in her hand, cringing for a second. She then sniffed it and realized- "It's..ink.."
"What?.." "This is ink." Mae repeated. "..that's weird." That was really weird. Mae continued to look at the ink on her hand, until she realized something. "Isn't Bendy made of ink?" She looked up at Freddy who had just realized it too. A sudden strange and unnatural sensation crept through bodies, making them uneasy, knowing this thought.
Mae quickly wiped the ink off her hand as they continued onward. As they walked on, they've noticed that the same ink was EVERYWHERE. It was even dripping from the walls and ceiling. Thick rusty old pipes also hanged from the ceiling, leading to...somewhere. Why would something like those be doing in this place....what even IS this place?
Turning a right corner, posters were noticed on walls. Old faded out posters, but just clear enough to read. Freddy walked up close to read it better. "The dancing..demon.." The poster had a cartoon character that resembled the body..of Bendy-with a little tutu and the face being the title of the poster. The second poster read: "Little Devil Darling" A hand that resembled Bendy's was shown on the poster as well.
Freddy became more and more curious and skeptical about all of this. Could this be-
"Heeeeeeeyy Fred!!" Mae called from another room nearby. "What?" "Come check this out!!" Mae sounded eager, only making Freddy more nervous to what she could have found. He walked into the next room and froze. Down in the middle of the hallway, was a Bendy cutout.
The two looked at each other in disbelief, before approaching the cutout for a better look. "I knew it.." Freddy mumbled. "He does know about this place.."
Mae exclaimed the smiling life size cutout from head to toe. "I mean..this is kind of cool...but kind of creepy...Where are we?" "I don't know..let's keep looking.." It was also strange too. Bendy kind of just..disappeared. And they haven't come across him yet..Maybe this place was bigger than they thought.
More rooms and places were discovered one by one. Drawing desks, more scattered papers and Bendy cutouts, tall drawers, wooden chairs in random places, more posters, boarded up large holes in walls and even sign-in stations. The more they looked around, the more they can come to another conclusion.
Soon, they entered a larger room with a table, another Bendy cutout in the corner next to a projector and large fancy but old sign that read: "J o e y D r e w S t u d i o s"
"This is an animation studio." Freddy concluded. "Holy crap...You don't think..like..Bendy was made here?" That was probably an obviously assumption, judging by all of the "Bendy things" in this place. But...if that's that case....then why is the studio in this condition in the first place? And...what the hell is up with all of that...ink everywhere..?
Freddy thought for a moment, taking a step back, but when he did, he bumped into an old table, knocking over a small box to the floor with dozens of pictures coming out. Within the pictures, the first thing they saw...was Bendy. The two looked at each other before picking up the photographs one by one.
The first one was with Bendy. He was smiling with two other males as they stood side by side next to Bendy, holding his hands. The second, Bendy watched happily as one of the workers drew on their drawing desk some...wolf cartoon character? The third, Bendy was smiling even brighter with the same wolf from the previous picture. A few pictures showed the two doing various things around the more tidier studio. There was even some where Bendy looked like he was causing some trouble and the wolf tried to stop him . Nevertheless, they both looked really happy together.
That was until they saw the next picture. There were three characters this time, including Bendy and that wolf. But this time, there was an angel cartoon character, smiling along with the wolf. Bendy however, wasn't smiling. He looked rather...upset, unlike all the other pictures so far. In every picture with the angel, Bendy looked upset and hateful towards the lady cartoon. And believe it or not...Bendy just looked more and more miserable as the pictures went on. The last three cartoons that were introduced was of this trio of cartoon characters that looked like they could cause more trouble than Bendy.
What did this mean? These were definitely old photos of Bendy, with people he knew before, but why..did Bendy REALLY bring them here to begin with?-
"CLING! CLING! CLING!" A loud sound was heard nearby, alerting Freddy and Mae. They decided to follow the sound, heading into another long hallway. Something stopped the two on the wall they were about to pass. Drenched in old thick ink, a sentence was written: "The creator lied to us"
What..the heck? It looked like someone had written it with their finger as well. But who? And what did it even mean-"CLING! CLING! CLING!" That same loud sound was heard again. The two continued to follow the sound down the end of the hall. Walking over an unusual large pipe into the next room, Freddy and Mae saw something they didn't expect nor believe.
There was a giant hole in the middle of the room, with these chains out, holding up this giant machine. The same machine Bendy was currently trying to break. In a fit of hot anger, he held his axe up and swung it down hard, making a loud "CLING!"
"Bendy!" Freddy called out to the cartoon on top of the strange machine. The small demon stopped what he was doing and turned to see his friends. His happy smile suddenly replacing his anger. "Hey! How's the destruction comin' along?" "Bendy, what's that machine?" The demon stared at him for a moment, before shrugging innocently. "Don't know." He said as he smiled. Freddy knew he was lying.
"Bendy, could you come down, I want to talk." Bendy's smile faded. "What for?" "Uh..um well.." Mae opened her mouth, yet was unable to properly find the words.
"Is it because of everything ya two saw here?"
Freddy and Mae were stunned by the fact that he read their minds so quickly. Bendy lowered his head, before getting off the machine and walking towards his friends. "Ya didn't do any destruction, did ya?" The demon asked, though he already knew the answer just by the look on their faces. He chuckled a little. "Well..don't hesitate because of what you saw, just...destroy it all.." "But Bendy, isn't this your studio?" Freddy asked. Bendy looked away from the two. "It was my studio.." There was silence for a moment.
"Ya see that machine?" He point to the giant strange machine he was on, not bothering to look up. "Ever wondered how I was made?" Their eyes suddenly widened. "Heh...yeah...all us cartoons were made from somewhere ya know....from Betty Boop, to The Loony Toons, to the Animatronics, to Felix the Cat... they all were made from that machine..The Ink Machine..ever studio had one for those cartoon characters.."
"....wow.." Freddy commented to himself, blacked by this fact. "But then, why would want to get rid of all of this?" Mae asked.
Bendy stayed silent. "Bendy..please.." Freddy pleaded. More silence..
"...why don't I show ya?"
Once again, the bear and cat were stunned. Bendy chuckled again, though the chuckle seemed more empty than cheerful. "I can show ya both.." "Bendy, what are you-"
The small demon stood away from the two and without warning....his mouth grew wider...and wider...and wider...until it was big enough for them to go through. "C o m e o n i n g u y s.." Bendy's voice echoed as his wide-opened mouth showed an inky dark void. At the end of the tunnel, they could see a bright light.
Freddy and Mae were hesitant and in a state of "What the hell is that??!! And what the hell just happened?!!".
"...Ladies first." Freddy immediately stepped aside for Mae to go in. "Wait! Why am I going first?!" "Because...because you're the most aggressive out of the three of us??" "What? What is that supposed to mean?!" "J u s t c o m e o n g u y s..." Bendy's voice echoed once again. Mae sighed deeply and hesitantly walked in Bendy's mouth with Freddy close behind.
They walked towards the light at the end of the tunnel, being both weirded out and somewhat fascinated. Voices could also be heard. Many voices. Different voices. It was almost like..hearing different memories playing all at once. And Bendy's voice was among them. He sounded..upset about something they couldn't quite make out.
As they walked further and further into the tunnel, the bright light became brighter, illuminating the darkness around them until...everything turned white.
...
Freddy and Mae opened their eyes to find...they were back at the black and white studio. Except, everything was cleaner, newer looking, not a single cobweb or dust to be seen.
"What the-" "Hey..Ya guys made it.." Bendy suddenly appeared, cutting Mae off. "Bendy? Where..where are we?" Freddy asked. "I told ya, I was gonna show ya the past; my past..Inside this studio.."
To be continued..
