Hey! I'm back with another long chapter! I apologize for it being long again! SO MUCH has happened this month that I can't even put it into words! But, I did finally graduated from high school, which was really crazy and scary, but also reliving! Thank you so much being patient with me! I most definitely haven't given up on this story, but with everything that's happened this month, it was really hard for me to update really anything!
But now I'm back with a long chapter and ready to finish this part of the story, so we can move onto more indies! (I'm so excited omg!) Thank you so much again!
Btw, I had absolutely no idea what to do for these next three drawings for the chapters, so I'm sorry!
Art by me!

A few hours earlier..
Susie began walking towards the home of the Dreemmurs, bundled up warmly with her winter coat and packed bag over her shoulder. She still couldn't believe what the hell these past few days had her in for. After hearing the news about what happened to Kris recently, it still bugged her.
When Toriel called to tell her about the news, her heart shank in her chest. She couldn't believe it and after spending all that time with Kris, she didn't even see the signs. No one did and that just made things get worse for the boy.
But Toriel didn't hang up the phone just yet. She had composed a plan along with everyone else at the house to have Susie come over for the week of Christmas. However, it was going to be a surprise.
All Flowey had to do was distracted Kris for a day, so Susie could surprise him once the two got home. Anyone else would have volunteered for this position instead, but they decided Flowey was the best option, despite his disagreements. With Flowey, it was easier for Kris to say yes and being with him would mean he would definitely have no trouble being distracted.
A bundled up deer girl approached Susie suddenly, making her stop in her tracks.
"Uhh hey S-Susie.." The girl nervously greeted.
"Hey Noelle."
"So uh...You're going to visit Kris for the week right? That's.. what you told me anyways.."
"Yeah you're right. I'm going to see him for a week." Susie replied, looking down at Noelle's hands and seeing that she had two gifts. They were wrapped in Rudolph wrapping paper.
"What's that?" Susie gestured the gifts with a shift of her head.
"Oh! These are for you and Kris. Here." She handed the nicely wrapped presents to Susie. She thanked the deer in return.
"I would come along too, but my family is having a get together this Christmas. B-But anyways, tell Kris that I miss him, to take it easy and have a nice Christmas." Noelle smiled.
"I will...thanks.." Susie grinned.
Noelle's face turned red, she thought her heart would explode out of her chest.
"Uh y-you're welcome Susie!"
"I gotta get going. Toriel's waiting for me." Susie said as she started walking past Noelle.
"Later deer girl." Susie waved from behind.
Noelle stood there, watching Susie walk off.
"I-I didn't die..." She said. Her face turning as red as Rudolph's nose. She thought she might faint.
....
A few minutes later and Susie had ended up at Kris' home. She was about to go knock on the door, when the sound of Toriel's car horn caught Susie's sudden attention, along with a wave from the goat mother for Susie to join her in the car.
Susie followed her requests and sat in the front seat, next to Toriel. Her luggage and the two gifts were on her lap.
"I just wanted the car to be warm as soon as you came, so there wouldn't be any trouble getting warming up." Toriel smiled.
"No that's fine."
Toriel put the car in reverse, pulling out of the driveway and onto the road. They left their small town, driving onto the big road and soon finding themselves driving across the big red bridge that connected their area from the highway.
Silence filled the car. Susie didn't know what to say or if she should say anything. She felt like the totally awkward one here.
"You know.." Toriel started to speak calmly, not taking her eyes off the road.
"I'm very happy Kris has a new friend." Susie stayed silent.
"He hasn't talked to anyone for so long, especially after the incident a few years ago. He wasn't himself anymore. And that's why I was so excited when he had told he made a new friend.
He hasn't smiled in so long either, but when he's around you, I see him smile and laugh, even if it's just for a little bit. He started talking to me more and to everyone else in town. He even started getting out of his room a little more as well.
So I just wanted to say thank you, for being there for him." Toriel turned for a short moment and smiled warmly at Susie.
Susie however, still didn't know what to say. What do you even say in situations like this? Thank them back? Tell them how you feel too? Susie didn't know the answer. She looked away and just stared at her bag. Everything just felt so sudden to her, she figured she needed a moment to take in the information she was just given.
As time went on, she too found herself caring and feeling more comfortable around Kris. He was a nice guy, but with so much hate for himself. Susie couldn't stand that thought, it seemed so unreal, it still shocks her. And that fact that Susie was an a-hole to him at one point obviously didn't help with his condition. She felt more terrible thinking about it. Hopefully, with her being there with him though, even for just a week, it can make the boy feel a bit more happier again. She did miss him too.
^^^^^^^^^^
And we're back to the present! (get it? Cuz it's almost Christmas in the story!...I'm so sorry):
When the door opened, Kris looked up and froze as he saw a familiar face that he hasn't seen in a while.
A familiar face of a certain purple monster named Susie.
She smirked down at Kris, who's jaw was now agape. He looked over at everyone on the couch. They had that same smirk on their faces. Then Kris slowly turned to Flowey.
He had that same damn smirk on his face as well.
"...I-I'm j-just gonna walk....this w-way..." Kris stuttered as he slowly walked past Susie to the kitchen, stunned by everything that was happening.
"Woooowwwww alright." Susie exclaimed as everyone else laughed.
Kris took Flowey out of his backpack and placed him on the kitchen counter. He heard big footsteps, presumably Susie's, as he placed his head on the wall, not facing anyone.
He heard Susie lean her body against the doorway to the kitchen, crossing her arms and putting one foot against the the wall. She waited for a response from the boy, who tried to take in everything that just happened. He slowly peeked his head from the wall to see Susie still there, looking at him. Kris quickly turned away.
"Hey." Susie greeted.
Kris hesitated before answering back. "Hi..." He said quietly.
"So...been a while huh? Susie said. Kris just nodded slowly as Susie sighed.
Kris bit his lip.
"I..." He started to say, not looking up. Susie looked over at him.
"I-I'm sorry I d-didn't call you o-or text you or even just k-kept i-in contact, I-I-"
"Dude." Susie put a hand on the boy's shoulder, making him look up with tears in his eyes.
"We got other things to worry about...
LIKE HOW YOU ACTUALLY WENT AHEAD AND TRIED TO HURT YOURSELF SO MUCH!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!" Susie yelled as she shock Kris violently.
"I-I-I'm sorry! I-" He was cut off by the sudden arms that wrapped around him, pulling him into a hug.
Kris was...completely taken aback by this. Susie..never hugs anyone, nor does she show really like them. At least to his knowledge anyways.
"I'm just..really glad you're ok.." She said softly.
Kris' eyes widen and yet..he couldn't hold back anymore of his tears. He cried and sobbed in Susie's shoulder, hugged back tightly and letting all his emotions out.
Everyone in the other room had gotten up from the couch and was listening in to everything that was happening. The boy's depressed cries made some felt sorry, some sadden, some..think.
And Flowey just watched the two embrace each other from the kitchen counter. He lowered his head slightly, waiting for Kris to let all his emotions he's been hiding.
He definitely needed this.
^^^^^^^^^
"So y-you're staying for a week?" Kris asked his purple friend as everyone sat around the dinner table.
"Yeah. For Christmas too. Surprise." Susie said half grinning.
Kris smiled back.
"I-I still can't believe y-you guys did this for me..t-thank you."
"It was Flowey's idea." Maddy said, gesturing to the flower.
"YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT!!" Flowey yelled at the girl. She remembered that and immediately covered her non-existent mouth.
"Oh! Sorry!" She apologized.
Everyone laughed. Kris looked over at the flower next to him. Flowey didn't want to turn around.
"Flowey.." Kris spoke calmly.
Flowey really didn't want to turn around, but he found himself slowly doing it either way. He looked up and saw Kris smiling warmly.
"Thank you."
Flowey blinked before turning back around, feeling his face grow red again.
"Speaking of which, Flowey, it looks like you got a makeover." Cuphead chuckled, mentioning the stickers on Flowey's flowerpot.
"Shut up.." The flower responded, his head remaining low.
"S-so anyways, w-when did you get here?" Kris asked his purple friend.
"Like..an hour ago. And I just talked with everyone while waiting for you."
"And she showed us some videos of you on Halloween." Fran said.
Kris froze.
"W-What..?"
"Susie showed us you and her hanging out and she was a box and you in this pink outfit." Fran continued.
"Were you..Pink Diamond?" Sal asked to see if he was right.
Kris sat there. His face becoming redder than a tomato. He wanted nothing more than to go in a hole, curl up into a ball, and never EVER come out. He buried his head in his arms on the table.
"But dude! You looked so pretty!" Mae said confidentiality.
"You did looked really good!" Monika complemented.
Sal: "Same. You looked nice!"
Bendy: "I'd give it a 10 out of 10!" He gave a cheery thumbs up.
Mugman: "You do look nice in girly clothes. You should wear them more often."
Spooky: "Now I'm even more disappointed you didn't come with us on Halloween!"
Madotsuki: "I wish I could rock makeup like you."
Ayano: "You really did look more like a girl in that."
The neighbor: "I'm glad you had fun, especially with the outfit."
Cuphead: "Yeah it looked like you had A LOT of fun in that outfit."
Freddy: "I'm also glad you had fun."
Hat kid and the follower nodded, smiling warmly as Tattletail giggled. Six of course just sat there.
Oh no.
The powerful and positive comments have returned.
Kris still couldn't handle this much love from everyone and he knew they weren't going to stop. He buried his face more into his arms, feeling more and more flustered.
"W-why did y-you show them that?" Kris muffled under his arms to Susie.
"Cuz why not? I mean it's not like you looked bad at all to be honest." Everyone nodded.
"I didn't see what he looks like." Flowey said abruptly.
Susie smirked even more.
"Ohhhhhh I'll show you." She pulled out her phone and searched for the video again.
"S-Susie p-please don't...."
"Too late already show it to everyone here, so might as well." She said facing the phone to the flower with everyone joining in to see it again.
Kris couldn't move an inch as he heard the video start to play.
'I want to die.' He thought dramatically.
^^^^^^^^
Flashback to late October!:
Kris rustled under his blankets, covering his face more and blocking out the morning sun. He wished he had better sleep like 'normal' people, maybe than he wouldn't have to wake up so tired all the time. He felt his eyes slowly open on their own. That annoyed him, he wanted to sleep longer, but his body wouldn't agree with that. But then he remembered..today was his birthday and that means someone left him a present, just like every year.
Kris slowly sat up from his warm blankets, yawned and wiped his eyes from under his long bangs. He examed his bare and empty room, with nothing but a desk, a chair, his bed, a small dresser, a little red wagon, and a bird cage. Though, he remembers, when was younger the room being filled with many gifts and items from his....friends over the years.
Kris finally caught sight of his small dresser next to him and noticed a wrapped present on top. He unraveled his blankets off of him and sat over the bed, letting his feet dangle and reaching for the gift. He still has no idea who would send him gifts every year. A secret admirer maybe? Someone he knows? Kris couldn't think of anyone who would do this. When he asked Toriel every year, she wasn't the one who would give it to him and he knew that no one else would do this for him especially after....the incident a few years ago. No one really talked to him anymore nor did they....see eye to eye with him, making him feel like...a complete outsider. Even to both humans and monsters.
Though, it felt kind of nice knowing that despite what he did, this someone is still looking out for him all these years.
Kris slowly began to unwrap the blue and pink wrapping paper, his two favorite colors and gasped. He..he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His eyes sparked to life as he took the full costume package out of the paper. It was full costume of Pink Diamond, with the shoes, the outfit, gloves, and even the leggings. Kris has always wanted this outfit, ever since he was younger and ever since he saw Steven wear it on tv.
The boy wasted no time getting up and dressing himself with it, throwing his pajamas on his bed. Once he was done, he stood there admiring himself and all the beautiful pink he has on. Kris never felt so...happy with wearing something before. It felt almost....right to him. He sat on his bed, admiring his costume. The leggings, the gloves, the shoes, big puffy sleeves, the puffy shorts, everything just felt so nice. It felt so him. He never wanted to take it off.
Kris continued to sit there for a couple of minutes before he felt himself singing a familiar song that began to play in his head.
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
(Another beautiful and amazing song from the wonderful and awesome Rebecca Sugar that is also one of my favorites as well!)
"Familiar, why is this so familiar?
Familiar, like something I used to know
Familiar, staring up at the ceiling
Familiar, I swear that I know this feeling."
Kris stood from his bed and started to dance ballet, something he learned not to long ago from a certain microwave looking robot.
"Where everybody wants me to be mom
And everything I do, I do it wrong
I sway them with a joke, or with a song
And maybe that'll help us get along."
Kris continued to dance throughout his big empty room.
"Familiar, why is this so familiar?
Familiar, like something I used to do
Familiar, like she used to throw a tantrum
Insisting that, "Hey, I'm a Diamond too"
I bet she drove them crazy all the time
They love her but they're leaving her behind.."
Kris had a sudden realization to the lyrics he had just sang. They reminded him of..
"With more important places they should be
Than hanging out with someone just like me."
Himself.
"Familiar, that's why it's so familiar
Familiar, like someone I used to be
Familiar, but this time I've had some practice
At helping a struggling family."
Kris smiled to himself as he excitedly dance and sang the last of the lyrics.
"Oh, I'll get them all together in one place
And once we're all together face to face
I'll show them all the error of their ways.."
Kris did a graceful spin.
"And stop their spread of terror across-SUSIE!!!"
Kris immediately stopped dancing when he saw his friend in the doorway, holding a phone that was currently recording.
She smirked. "Hey dude."
"SUSIE DELETE THAT!!!" Kris yelled as he ran after Susie throughout the house. She laughed as she ran down the stairs with Kris close behind.
"Happy Birthday Kr—M-my child!" Toriel startled by her adoptive son's appearance.
Susie ran behind Toriel. She put her phone in her pocket yet still continued to laugh. Kris stopped in front of his mother.
"H-hi mom.." Kris greeted neverously.
"My child, I thought you couldn't find that costume in the store you and Susie went a few days ago."
"Um...w-well I..found it i-in another store.." He lied.
"Oh well that's great! But you might want to change, you're going to be late for school."
"Oh..o-oh yeah! O-ok!" Kris responded rushing back up the stairs to change.
Minutes later and he came running back down the stairs, in his usual attire and his backpack over his shoulders. He ran out the front door to find Susie and his mom getting in the car.
"Kris come on, you're going to be late!" Toriel said as Kris raced to the front passenger seat of the car, next to Toriel. Susie sat behind the two, still chuckling to herself as she reviewed the photos and videos from earlier. Kris just wanted to forget all that didn't happen, whatsoever.
They drove through town and arrived at school. The three walked out of the car and went through the school doors. Toriel gave one last hug to Kris before walking to the right for her class.
"Have fun!" She said, waving goodbye for the day.
Kris just nodded and watched her disappear through the door.
"Come on!" Kris said grabbing Susie's sleeve. She let out a yelp as she was pulled to their classroom. Kris opened the door and luckily, they weren't late. Everyone was already in their respective seats, chatting amongst one another. They stopped once they caught sight of Kris and Susie. Kris let go of Susie as the two walked to their seats. Kris held his head down and Susie had her hands in her pocket. Kris could feel everyone's eyes on him, he gripped his backpack strap tighter.
They sat down, Kris was in front of Susie in the back of the classroom. He placed his backpack next to him and started to take out his materials. Susie didn't really have anything with her, everything was mostly already in her desk.
Just then, Ms. Alphys walked into the room.
"G-good morning c-class!" She stuttered like always.
"Oh S-Susie. Y-you're here early." She spoke from her desk as she spotted Susie from the back of the room.
"Yeah." Susie shrugged.
They started class like every normal day. Things were a little better for Kris, though not entirely. He didn't get picked on or beaten as much anymore, now that he hangs out with Susie. Yet Kris just kept to himself like usual, holding his arms on his desk and not making eye contact with anyone. Especially his teacher. He was trying to listen of course, but every since that incident a few years ago it's...it's been really hard to look or even interact with his immediate adoptive family, like Alphys.
Truth be told, he didn't really want to talk to them, unless if he really has to. And besides his mom sometimes.
'They all still hate you, you know? You don't belong here. You never did.' A voice echoed in Kris' head.
Kris just remained quiet. He knew the day would be over soon. All he had to do was wait and not ruin anything. Like he always did.
^^^^^^^
School finally ended for the day and everyone packed, leaving the classroom one by one. Kris was the last one to pack up and leave. He stopped in the doorway when he heard Alphys say:
"H-happy Birthday K-Kris."
He froze, not daring to turn around and face his teacher. He gripped the straps of his backpack again and bit his lip, trying to hold in his tears. Kris didn't respond, instead he ran out into the hallway.
He quickly wiped his tears as he stopped in his tracks. A sudden hand made him jump.
"Dude are you ok?" Susie asked.
'Don't make her worry about you!'
"Y-yes.." Kris said as calmly as he could, walking out of the school with Susie.
"You're mom is staying in the school a little longer today right?"
"Y-yeah..so w-we have to walk home.."
"Okay..Oh yeah! And happy birthday!"
Kris took a second to reply.
"T-thank yo-"
"Wait! Guys!" A voice called the two from behind. They both turned around and saw Noelle catching up to them.
"H-hi Noelle..w-what's up?" Kris asked timidly.
"One: happy birthday! And two: Are you two going to the dance tonight?" She asked with a smile.
"Yeah no. Those aren't my type of things." Susie said.
"M-me neither s-sorry." Kris added.
"Are you sure? You're mom told me you haven't been doing anything fun for your birthday these past years. Is that true?"
Kris sighed mentally. "Y-yeah...you're right.."
"So maybe you should come! Do you have a costume?"
Susie covered her mouth as she held in a laugh, remembering this morning. Kris felt himself tense up from embarrassment from what happened this morning too.
"N-no I don't-"
"Yes he does!!" Susie intervened, putting an arm around Kris' shoulder.
"N-no I..I don't Susie.." Kris looked at his bigger friend. His face turning red.
"Yes! Yes you do!! He will be there! And you know what, I'm coming too!!" Susie smiled wide.
"Great! That's awesome!" Noelle said excitedly.
"Right! We'll see you later!" Susie said picking up Kris with one arm and heading back to the house.
"It's at 7 tonight! At the school!" Noelle yelled for the two in the distance.
"Alright!" Susie yelled back.
^^^^^^^^
"Susie I-I...I don't think I can g-go to the d-dance..." Kris said, sitting on the couch with his friend right next to him.
"Why not? Is it because of this morning?"
"It's...it's j-just that.."
"Then what?"
Kris hesitated.
"It's just that...I-it's not normal for a guy t-to be wearing those kinds of things a-and everyone..w-wouldn't like that-"
"Dude. Who cares?! It's freaking Halloween! No one is going to give a shit on what you wear! It's just a stupid costume and clothes are clothes!"
Kris looked away from Susie.
"Still I-I.."
"And besides, you do looked good in it and if no one else agrees, I'll beat them up for you."
"N-no please don't." Kris turning back to her.
"Either way, are you still wearing it or not?"
Kris sighed. He thought long and hard on this one. He remembered the last time he wore something like that was when he was much younger and everyone...loved him. But now, things have changed and he was incredibly scared on how everyone was going to react. With Susie by his side, it wouldn't be as big of a problem anymore, since she could easily scare them off, but he still was very worried, for him and for Susie.
Kris stole a glance at his purple friend next to him, who stared right back at him. He sighed deeply.
"....ok....I-I'll do it.."
Susie smiled.
"Good. Because if you said no, I was going to force you to wear it anyways."
Kris sighed mentally this time. 'Only Susie..' He thought.
"W-what are you g-going to be?"
"A box."
Kris was baffled. "Just a-a box??"
"Yeah. I mean it's not like I could be a god-damn monster."
"Well y-you don't have to be t-that, you could be-" Kris sighed again. "N-never mind.."
^^^^^^^^^^
Later that evening, Susie was back at the house. Dressed as a box. And Toriel was waiting in her chair, so she could also bring the children to dance. A few minutes went by and Kris finally came down the stairs. He had his Pink Diamond costume on from earlier, including the pink tinker bell like shoes, white leggings and gloves.
"My child you look great!" His mother complemented. Susie just gave a thumbs up as Kris walked shyly to his mom and whispered in her ear.
"Oh of course you can Kris! I think it would really help with your costume!" She said leading the boy into the bathroom.
'What the hell are they doing?' Susie thought as she waited for the two to get out.
Minutes later and they both came out, only Kris had...pink lipstick and blush on and his hair looked like Toriel put some fancy products into it, making it look nicer.
"Oh shit dude." Susie said, taken aback by Kris' sudden change in his look.
Kris rubbed his arm, feeling more embarrassed, even though he was the one who wanted this.
"Oh hold on! I want a picture! I want a picture!" Toriel exclaimed excitedly as looked for her phone on the chair.
"M-mom please no.."
"You too Susie!"
"Me too?!" Toriel nodded in response.
Susie groaned dramatically, but still went along with the photo taking.
And even though Kris didn't really want to admit at the time, he felt happy about how he looked.
^^^^^^^^^^
Fast forward to the party. It had already become pitch black out (because it's fall and stuff) Toriel had dropped the two off and headed inside. Noelle was one of the first people to notice them through all the 'spooky' decorations and lighting. She wore a red and green Santa Elf costume. Not surprising as Kris' family friend tends wear everything relating to Christmas.
"You two came! And Kris you look so amazing!" She lit up with amazement.
Kris, still feeling very timid and embarrassed at the moment, kept his head down and his hands together.
"T-thank you.." He said quietly.
"You're someone from Steven Universe right?"
He nodded.
"Didn't that show end-"
"D-don't remind me N-Noelle!" Kris said abruptly.
"Oh sorry." She laughed a little. "I know how much you love that show."
"I have no idea what you guys are talking about." Susie said, breaking their conversation.
"I-It's the best show I-I ever seen. Y-you need to watch it Susie."
"Nah I'm good."
"I remember Kris and I used to watch it together when we were younger. It is a really fun show. Also do you have makeup on?" Noelle asked Kris.
He immediately became flustered again. "Y-yes..." He said hesitantly.
"It looks so good on you!! It's been a while since you've worn girly things. I'm happy you're wearing these kinds of things again."
Kris looked down at his shorter friend. He was very surprised by her react. But then he remembered, they've known each other ever since they were young kids, so of course Noelle would be one of the very few people to accept and appreciate how he would look. Nevertheless, Kris smiled at her and thanked her again.
She smiled back, grabbed Kris' hand and pulled him further into the school with Susie following behind.
^^^^^^^^
Ok back to the present again:
"Ok now we need to mix in the blended butter and sugar with 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract into a large bowl." Susie reading the recipe off of her phone.
"Got it." Kris replied, already gathering what he needs and adding it to the mixer.
It had been a couple hours since the group talk and the embarrassing video showing of Kris' Halloween costume. Right now however, it was only Kris and Susie, making homemade sugar cookies for everyone since they had the ingredients for them already.
Kris was about to grab an egg from its carton, when Susie stopped him.
"Wait I'll do it." She grabbed the egg with one hand and cracked it with one crack on the counter, opening it and dropping its contents into the bowl, throwing the remains in the trash.
"And that's how you do it." She said.
Kris chuckled a bit. The way Susie did it looked easy enough, but that was because she was really strong. "T-thanks for that."
They mixed in the vanilla, then moved to the next step which was mixing in the dry ingredients as well. Susie helped mixed everything together faster, making it turn into thick dough. After that, she read the next step.
"Roll the dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets."
Susie looked up from her phone to see Kris trying to hold in a laugh. She was confused for a moment before realizing what was so funny. She started to laugh too.
"Shut up." Susie said, shoving Kris who was still laughing at the stupid joke.
They did what the recipe asked and placed the pan into the oven for 10 minutes. The two lend on the contour and waited. Silence fill the room.
"So..y-you met them?"
"What?" Susie asked Kris.
"E-everyone here. Y-you met them all r-right?" Kris asked looking up at his friend.
"Yeah, I did."
"W-what do you t-think of them?"
Susie thought for a moment, crossing her arms.
"They're..interesting I guess. They all seem to care about you a lot."
Kris looked down, folding his hands together.
"Yeah t-they did a lot for me a-and they understand me. I-I'm glad I got to meet them." He said. "It's b-better here. T-they're more w-welcoming than everyone...i-in town.."
Susie sighed. "I guess you're right about that.."
"I-I was also able to g-get therapy now a-and medication."
Susie hummed.
"H-how have you been?" Kris looked up at Susie.
"Meh, same as ever." She shrugged.
"I-I see.."
More silence filled the room.
"I-I'm sorry Susie.." Kris spoke up.
"I-I'm sorry I-I left you alone. I know y-you're mad at me still a-and-"
A hand was smacked at Kris' back, making him jolt forward slightly.
"Dude no need to get depressing. We went over this and I said I forgive you." Susie said.
Kris didn't speak right away. He stood there contemplating his next words...but..he didn't really have any. In the end, he was just felt lucky to have a friend like Susie. He smiled to himself, knowing this factor, then to Susie, who smiled back.
"W-we should probably c-clean up a bit before t-the cookies are done." Kris suggested.
Susie agreed as they began to put their plan into action. The remaining eggs and butter go in the fridge. The baking soda, baking powder, vanilla extract, and sugar in the cabinets. And finally, so does the flour. Kris was about to hand it to Susie, who had put the remaining ingredients away, but when she turned around, they had both accidentally bumped into each other, making the flour go all over Susie, covering her white.
"O-oh my god Susie! I-I'm so sorry. T-that was m-my fault! I-I didn't-"
Before Kris could finish, Susie grabbed a handful of flour from the bag and threw it at Kris' face, covering him powder white as well. He was speechless for a moment, his mouth agape.
"H-how dare you.."
"What are you going to do about it?" Susie asked as she smirked smugly.
Kris smirked back.
The battle began.
Kris held the plate like a shield, protecting his face as a handful of flour came in his direction. He began to laugh.
Susie did too. A handful of flour from Kris' own pile came in her direction this time. But Susie didn't bother to have anything to protect her with.
Yet the two friends kept throwing flour and laughing, forgetting how much of a mess they've made. Not to mention how many spots of flour were now in the kitchen.
They stopped mid-battle when they heard a 'DING'! The cookies were done.
They put their "weapons" down and opened the stove. The sweet smell was almost too much to bare. Kris grabbed the Christmas oven mitts and took out the pan of sugar cookies, closing the oven door. And that's when they both realized...the mess they've made. They both frowned.
"W-we should p-probably clean that up too.."
"Yeahhhhh.."
Susie started doing that, while Kris took the cookies off the pan and onto the cooling rack, so they don't keep cooking due to the pan still being so hot. He then washed the pan, then helped Susie with the rest. Good. Now everything was clean. Except for themselves...They'll have to worry about that later. Right now it's about the cookies.
Now it was on to decorating. They grabbed the frosting from the fridge and started. They used piping bags, and thank god they had some, things were more easier that way.
They were just about done, when Susie spotted Kris decorating a sugar cookie that caught her eye.
Kris was frosting a Christmas tree shaped sugar cookie, but it had a mixer of pink, green, and blacks colors. Susie raised an eyebrow under her long bangs.
"Are you making Ralsei?" She asked over a mere hunch.
Kris' face heated up. "N-n-no I-I'm not! I-I'm just frosting y-ya know?" He laughed nervously.
Susie rolled her eyes. She already knew that wasn't true, but didn't push him.
A few minutes later and finally! They were finished.
"I'm going to try one." Kris said, grabbing the Christmas tree one from earlier.
"Me too." Susie said following along and grabbing a cookie.
They both took a bite out of theirs and immediately feel in love with the taste. Guess they did pretty good on the cookies.
"I bet Ralsei will be as good as that cookie you just ate." Susie teased, eating the rest of her cookie.
"S-SUSIE!!" His face became even more hotter this time as Susie laughed.
"Anyways, we should probably call them since the cookies are done."
"Oh..y-yeah you're right."
Susie called them and in no time, everyone came flooding into the kitchen.
"Oh my god! What happened to you two?!" Mae exclaimed.
Kris and Susie looked at each other, realizing that they were still covered in flour.
"W-we kinda m-made a mess earlier..s-sorry.." Kris said.
Flowey looked at the freshly-made cookies.
"Huh..so I guess the Barney can bake after all." Flowey said, smirking slightly.
Everyone was became speechless, realizing what he had just said. Some covered their mouths, others tried not to laugh, some had their mouths agape. Susie looked full on ready to destroy the flower as she took a couple steps forward, but was quickly held back by Kris.
"S-Susie please! H-he didn't mean it!!"
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Hours later, once everything AND everyone has died down (not literally, thanks to Kris) it was bedtime for everyone. Susie was laying on couch in the living room with tons of blankets and pillows that the neighbor couldn't kindly resist giving. The whole living room was completely dark, with the only lights being from the beautiful Christmas that glowed with different color lights as it sat in the corner of the room.
Susie had cleaned up from earlier and was now in her long cozy pjs, blankly scrolling through her phone in the dark, not feeling that sleepy yet.
"M-may I join you?"
Susie looked up from her phone and saw Kris holding his blanket and pillow close to him. He had also cleaned up from earlier. His hair was still a bit wet from the shower and he wore his usual pjs.
"Sure." Susie said plainly.
Kris walked over and sat on the floor in front of the couch. He covered himself with his blankets, not saying a word. Susie looked over at him and decided to copy him. They sat in silence for a few moments.
"I-I just felt bad, I-I didn't want you to b-be alone..A-also I asked Mae a-and she said that I-I could stay w-with you tonight.."
"Who's that one again?" Susie asked.
"T-the small cat with t-the attitude of a-awesomeness."
"Oh, right."
More silence. No one said anything.
Kris began to quietly take his left arm out of his blankets. He looked under the sleeve and saw dozens and dozens of his cuts and scars. Susie managed to take a peck at them and frowned.
"Susie...."
"Yeah?"
Kris pulled up his sleeve again and hesitated.
"R..remember w-when you smashed me into the lockers a-and threaten to b-bite my face off..?"
How could Susie forget that? That was the day they had fallen into their crazy adventure and became friends in the end. But it was also the day that Susie herself didn't know what the consequences of her actions had done to Kris leading up to today. And she felt terrible for doing that.
"..yeah..." She responded reluctantly.
"Y-you can still do it..."
Susie froze.
"What?"
"Y-you can still f-finish the job i-if you want..." Kris said quietly.
Susie was...just completely baffled right now.
"I-I don't mind if you do it.."
"Kris..."
"Y-you don't have to t-tell anymore either..."
"Kris."
"M-maybe..i-it would be better i-if you did-"
"KRIS STOP!"
The boy jumped from the sudden yell of his friend. He bit his lip, quickly turning his head away, and covering himself more with his blankets. Susie mentally sighed, looked at her phone, then back at Kris. She then had an idea to cheer him up.
"Hey.." She spoke softly, nudging him. He turned his head slowly to see Susie holding up her phone up.
"Wanna watch try not to laugh videos?" She smiled.
Kris sniffed, wiped his eyes as he nodded.
(Oh boy here we go...)

(Let me know if you succeed in not laughing. I most definitely failed with all three of these.)

The joyous laughter that came from the living room, could heard all the way to the room of Monika and Flowey, which wasn't far from where the living room was. Flowey stared at the door, continuing to hear the seemingly endless laughter of Kris and Susie.
"You seem focused." Monika said to the flower as she sat on her bed, brushing her long light brown hair in her button up pjs, with the only light being from Monika's little lamp.
Flowey jumped back to reality and turned away.
"You know, if you want to hang out with Kris tomorrow you can, just ask. I'm sure he'll allow that even with his friend here. And with how much fun you two seem to being having with each other lately too, I bet he wouldn't mind at all." Monika smiled.
Flowey didn't say anything back. He knew that was about Kris right now and not him. He needed some time with his friend from town.
So why did he feel...
Or..
Actually...
He didn't know what was going on with him. There was just this one question that was constantly in his head:
Why was he so focused on Kris all of a sudden?
Real quick, I drew um...drew something..or a few things..:
So um...I might have a slight obsession with Kris in Pink Diamond's outfit...👉👈
Also guess who ALSO dressed up in Pink Diamond's outfit last year for Halloween:
So uhhh......yeah.....anyways....
See you in the next chapter!!
