Recap:Stefan brought Ana to his house.He introduces his father who turns out to be Mr Gordon.She receives a call from her sister Sam who informs Ana about their father's critical condition and the need for money.

Ana:

I stood frozen at the spot.
I was grateful that Mr Gordon did not immediately question me.
I was shedding tears at a faster rate.
But I think it would have been few minutes,when he finally asked,"Is there a problem?"

Stefan too was looking at me.I knew the look he was giving,it meant that are-you-ok?look.
I nodded.
I bent down on my knees.
Mr Gordon looked surprised.It would be an understatement if I said he was surprised.He was more shocked.
After all,it's not everyday a girl whose eyes are puffy with runny nose who insulted you gets down on her knees.
It's ok Ana.Sometimes you have to let your desperation win and let your ego go down.
There were two scenarios going on in my head:
1.I pressed my hands together like I was taught to do whenever I wanted to request.
It's ok I Am doing this for dad!
I took a deep breath and finally spoke in a meek voice,"Please hire me!Please!I am begging you!"

2.Do nothing.Stare blankly at the floor to avoid his eyes.And maybe,uhh,ask him for loan.

As much I would have done the first scenario,I simply did the second one.
I meekly whispered,"Can you please pay for my dad's operation?"
I did not meet his gaze.I was staring blankly at the floor.
He asked softly,"Your dad?Mr Samuel?"
I nodded.
I looked at him and said,"I will repay!I swear!"
The desperation in my voice was hard to miss.
He seemed to be thinking for a while before asking,"Can you do something for me in return?"
I nodded,"Of course.I will do any work."
He said,"Fine.Consider it done."
I stayed silent as he dialled and said to the other person,"Yep.Mr Samuel.Right!"

He cut his call and turned towards me.
Giving me a serious look,he spoke,"Done.Your dad will be saved.I have sent the best doctor and the treatment payment is done."
I nodded and wiped my tears.
Even though he was still jerk in my dictionary,now he is a good jerk.
I looked down at my sneakers and said,"Thank you so much!I will repay you back all the money.I swear."

I heard him walking close to me and I looked up.
Mr Gordon nodded and spoke,"We need to talk in private."
I frowned and nodded and we started walking in his mansion.
Everything looked so delicate and pricey that I thought it was better not to touch those artefacts and just awe at them From distance.
I started to wonder why would Mr Gordon want to talk with me in private.
Suddenly,the alarm in my brain worked and I started a buzzing with fear on realisation of the deal I Just made.
I will do any work.
Hell no!
As we walked into the office,I spoke,"Look Mr Gordon,When I told I will do any work,I mean work.You know work?Yes work!I will not do any work of yours that falls below my dignity...."
Mr Gordon looked at me and said,"You got it wrong,Ms Samuel.I don't know what works in your pretty brain but what I meant was About being Stefan's nanny."
He just called my brain pretty!
Jerk!

I shrugged and glanced at him.
He seemed to nod and spoke,"Would you be okay babysitting Stefan?"
My eyes crinkled with excitement.
I love that kid even though he gets on my nerve.
If that's what he was talking about the deal,I am so in!!
I nod excitingly and say,"Okay?I would love to!"
He again nods like a foolish fellow and keeps looking at his wooden desk.
He seems to quiet for few moments and I try to see if there is something unique about desk.
Other than being pricey and useful,I see nothing really worth that might make him awestruck.
He then says,"Look what I am going to speak,thing properly before you do any actions.Okay?"
I nod and wait for him to continue.
He takes a deep breath and speaks,"Look Ms Samuel,I want you to act like his mother."
His blue eyes look at me to see my reaction at his statement.
I stare back and say,"Aren't babysitter's role like that?"
He shakes his head and speaks,"Ms Samuel,I am willing to pay you double the promotion you were getting at your office.Stefan and you will be residing in other part of town,acting as son and mother.School,homework,coaching,you have to look over all those stuff as regular mom does.You can even pursue your writing dream or do whatever you want except any illegal work."
I almost snort at his choice of word 'illegal work.'
He continues,"Also,refrain from drinking and smoking until you are with Stefan.Is it clear?Oh and please forget any romantic relationship you want to pursue.Is it clear?"

I ponder over his offer and finally speak after few minutes,"That's what you want me to do in exchange for my dad's surgery?"
He nods but says,"But if you are unwilling,kindly refuse."
I don't know what to reply when I see From reflection of the window,Stefan.
The kid is eavesdropping!
I feel like saying to Stefan,"Caught ya dude!"
But I don't.
I continue looking at his reflection as I see hope in his eyes.
I again ponder over pros and cons.

Cons:
I cannot pursue any relationship!
But my other part snorts at the thought.As if I have any!

I cannot do illegal work!
Again I snort at my thought.

I cannot drink and smoke!
Bah!Last time I drank,I had epic hangover and lost job,so no thank you.
And smoking?No thanks.

You have nil experience of mother.
Err..True but I think I will develop it?

Pros:Double income!
Yay?
Um okay.

I can't really find any problem so I speak,"Fine.I am ready!"

Mr Gordon looks at me with surprised expression while I see Stefan grinning and running off to play.
Mr Gordon still surprised says,"Pack your bags by tomorrow.We will pick you up."
I nod and walk out of the long mansion with only one thought.

I hope I don't really regret this offer!
