"It's smaller on the outside," Clara stated breathlessly. She remembered the inside of the TARDIS from her dreams of course. But it was more breathtaking in real life. She had also wanted to see how the Doctor would react, as in her dream he had been surprised by her choice of words. It seemed the Doctor didn't hear her as he continued on his route around the console.
"It's called the TARDIS," he waved his hands around the room, "this thing. T.A.R.D.I.S. Time and relative dimension in space."
Clara looked around at the lights, the console, the doors leading off into other rooms and then at the Doctor. He was looking at her, a hopeful expression on his face. She felt like she should be teasing him, they should be acting like friends, but she didn't know how the Doctor would act. They had only just met.
The Doctor saved her from saying something stupid by asking,"Where do you want to go? All of time and space. Everywhere and anywhere. Every star that ever was. Where do you want to start?"
The Doctor smiled at Clara, rubbing his hands together. He was proud of his little speech. Although, he had the feeling that he had said it before somewhere. Waiting for her choice he started pulling levers at random, not being able to stand still for very long.
"Well, where do you want to go?" Clara asked. The Doctor paused. No one had ever really asked him before. Usually he just left it up to the TARDIS when he didn't know where to go.
"Don't know. Anything and everything." Was all he could come up with. Where did he want to go? He never really thought about what he wanted.
"Do dragons exist?"
The Doctor smiled cheekily,"Do you want to find out?"
Clara gave him a small smile and watched as he ran around the console like a mad man. Well, I suppose he is a mad man, she thought. Suddenly the TRADIS rocked into motion. Wheezing and twirling through the stars. Clara, not ready for the movement, was rocketed off her feet, hands trying to get hold of something as she fell to the floor. As quickly as it had started the TRADIS lurched to a halt.
"Ooouuuuuccchhhh," Clara moaned. She heard the Doctor laughing from the other side of the console as he turned on the monitor.
"What's so funny?" She snapped.
"Oh nothing. It's just that, that's exactly what happened to me when the TARDIS landed in front of your house. My head still hurts."
Clara started laughing too as she imagined the Doctor telling the TARDIS off for messing up his hair."
The Doctor walked over to her and helped her up. She dusted herself off and asked,
"Where are we?"
"Draconateliarta,"
"What?"
"Dracon-natel-iarta. The dragon planet. Well, hopefully the dragon planet. I mean dragons don't really exist."
"Doctor,"
"Well, not those creatures you humans think they are. But the closest thing that's not in parallel universe."
"Doctor,"
"If you wanted to see one of them we would of had to do some more fancy flying. But I suppose this is the closest thing. And I mean they are pretty fascinating, although I have never really held a proper conversation with one, but who knows? Maybe this time they'll..."
"DOCTOR!"
"What?"
"Just stop talking and show me instead of, well going on and on and on and on and on and on..."
"Okay!" Okay, let's go."
Clara smiled and lead the way out of the TARDIS. The Doctor followed with a big grin plastered in his face, hands running through his hair and fiddling with his bow tie. She's going to love this, he thought.
Clara stepped out onto a large expanse of grass. She looked around and tried to take in everything she could. It was beautiful. The grass went on for miles, blending in to the mountains. On the other side was the largest city she had ever seen. It wasn't just large as in the area it took up. But the buildings where at least ten times the size of regular buildings. They where covered in intriguing designs that glittered every colour at once, swirling and soaring along the outer walls. She looked up and let out a small wow. The sky was the colour of violets, with smudges of blue blending into the vibrant depths. Stars were splattered across the sky. Brighter than she had ever seen them. She could see the colour of each star, red and blue and white. Shining down, reflecting in her eyes. The sun was next to the moon. It wasn't as bright as her sun, but was spreading its warmth just the same. The moon was a brilliant flash of white, blinding her.
She looked beside her to find the Doctor gazing at her intently. When he noticed that she was looking at him he quickly took a step in front of her and twirled. Gesturing to the mountains, the grass the city and the sky, he asked,
"What do you think?"
"It's beautiful," she whispered. The Doctor grinned and walked around to the other side of the TARDIS.
"Oh no. Here comes trouble." Clara quickly followed, looking for whatever had caused him to speak.
There. Walking toward them, was the most brilliant thing she had ever seen
