RAKSHAN'S POV

When we were dancing the current went off. I saw something shining which is nearing Anni (SIL). I pushed her. The person who held knife came near me and someone closed my mouth from behind. He continuously stabbed me thrice or four times. I don't know after that what happened everything went dark.

Then suddenly I felt a light which is hitting my face. I saw a gate which has been opened and some people were entering inside. I thought to go inside and check what is in there. But when I almost neared the gate, someone pulled me. A woman of almost my mother's age was standing there. I couldn't see her face clearly but her touch made me feel something.

"You cannot go inside now. Your time didn't come yet. You are the one who should protect your both the brothers and also your SIL. They need you, son. You know why your mother kept your name as Rakshan because you are going to be the protector of this family. As they thought, so you become. You are one of the best in martial arts in the world", she said. How did she know all these things? Except Anna(elder brother) and Dhruv nobody knows that I am world champion in martial arts. Even my parents don't know about it. They just know that I am trained in martial arts. But this lady, she is saying as if she saw everything.

"How do you know all this?", I asked her. "I know everything about you. Your mother fainted after getting to know about your condition. Moreover a girl is waiting for you with whom you are going to spend the rest of your life. Go in the opposite direction of this gate.", she patted my shoulders.

"My mother fainted? Omg! How is she now?", I asked her. "She is good now. You should leave son, immediately", this time she pushed me away after saying this. When I started to leave, she stopped me.

"Remember, a SIL is equal to a mother. Elder brother is equal to a father. Younger brother is equal to a son. Wife is a better half. Younger brother's wife should be treated as a daughter. Friends are the family we choose. You should protect all these people, Rakshan. They all need you. You are the only one who can save them from all miseries. And what you did for your Anni(SIL) is something no son would have done for his mother too. I am sure Parvathi will be proud to have you as her son. ", she said. I just gave her a nod. But where did younger brother's wife came from? Maybe when Dhruv get someone as crazy as him. How she knows my mother's name?

But I wanted to ask her one question. "Do I know you?", I turned and asked her. "You will know me when time comes.", saying this she vanished. I left from that place.

I took a long breath and I saw that I was in hospital. A man in the white coat turned towards me. He is a doctor.

"Medical miracle", he said. Then I saw Anna(elder brother), Anni(SIL), Dhruv, Pradhu, Chiko, Mukilan and Aathu standing with their eyes sockets popping out. Everyone's eyes had dark circles. I think they didn't sleep last night. I felt a pain in my abdomen. The doctor rushed towards me and came to check me.

AITRI'S POV

"I am sorry...", when the doctor started to say we all already guessed what he was about to say.

But suddenly Rakshan took a long breathe. God! He is alive. Not only us even the doctor himself was in shock.

"Medical miracle", this is the first thing which came from his mouth. Rakshan looked at all of us. Then I think he suddenly felt pain where he was stabbed. Doctor asked us to go out so that he can do his tests.

We came out. At the same time all the elders of our family came. Even Parvathi aunty was standing with them.

"What happened to Rakshan?", grandmother asked us.

"He woke up. Our Aathu is really a Savitri who fought with Yamraj and bought Rakshan back", Dhruv said and lightened everyone's mind. I noticed that Parvathi aunty going near Aathu.

"You Aathika, I never thought that you can think of leaving my son. Everyone said that you were blaming yourself for his condition. How could you child? You are one of the purest souls in the world like Aitri and Pradhi. Never ever blame yourself. Am I clear?", Parvathi aunty said strictly. Aathu just hugged her and cried with her whole heart.

After sometime, Doctor came out of the ward.

"In my 15 years of service I never saw such a case. Really a medical miracle. I think all your prayers bought him alive", the doctor said. We all thanked him. "You may all go and see him. He is alright now. Yea the wound will take 4-5 days to heal. If you want you can discharge him tomorrow and get him back after 5 days to take the stitches out. And make sure he takes plenty of rest. The poison is out of his body", he said and left.

We all rushed inside. I don't know even how to thank him. He saved me by making his life as a pawn. I am so lucky to get him as my BIL.

Parvathi aunty rushed and hugged him tightly. "Ouch", Rakshan winced in pain. "Mom, you will crush him in your hug", Dhruv teased her. "Shut up you idiot", she showed her fake anger.

Then Sarang uncle went and hugged him. "I am so proud of you son.", he said. "Yo bro! Just in one day you became the hero of the whole family leaving Anna(elder brother) behind", Dhruv went and gave him a hug.

"I am no where compare to Rakshan. He is the best always", Viku went and hugged him.

Aathu just went and hugged him tightly. And everyone gave her space.

"I.. I ... thought ... that ... I lost you", Aathu sobbed for every word and completed her sentence.

"How can I leave my cry baby alone? Then who will save you from this drunken monkey", he pointed out Dhruv.

"Not fair Rakshan, you too started with this Chimpanzee", Dhruv fake cried looking at Rakshan.

"He always supports the good. And dude, you gave us a heart attack. Next time don't do like this ok. I can't take care of two cry babies at a time", Pradhu said looking at him.

"Two?", Raku questioned her. "Yea your cry baby Aathu and your drunken monkey brother", she said.

"You cried for me!", Raku looked shocked. "Don't think too much brother. Dust just fell on my eyes that time this chimpanzee saw me. Now, she is just saying story that I cried", Dhruv gave fake explanation. Such a liar!

We all gave a stare to him.

"Man, get up soon. I missed your teasing", Chiko said. "You missed me? I never supported you. I thought that you hate me because I was always against you.", Raku said looking at her.

"I know but still I always felt that you are a nice guy. There is no doubt now. But I miss that you are not my BIL", Chiko fake cried. "You can still be his SIL. Marry Dhruv", Viku said.

"No way, I don't want a love sick puppy in my life", Dhruv shouted.

"You don't want Pradhu, not Chiko then I hope you will bring me a DIL at least not a Son-in-law", Parvathi said

"Mom, I am not a gay", Dhruv whined. Everyone laughed.

"Hey pal! Get well soon", Mukilan patted on his shoulder.

"Thanks man", Raku said.

I am the only one who is left now. What should I say to him! What he did to me is something which I don't think even my own brother would have done that for me.

Raku looked at me. I just went near and sat next to him.

"I won't thank you for what you did. You are such a stupid that you saved me by sacrificing your life. You didn't even think about Parvathi aunty, Sarang uncle, Aathu, Viku, Dhruv or grandmother once before taking that decision. You didn't even think about any of these people. Who am I to you?", I asked him.

"You are my second mother given by God", Raku said. I never expected such answer from him. I don't know what came over me I just hugged him.

AUTHOR'S POV

"You are such a stupid that you did this thing. Do you even know the consequences that we will face", that person shouted.

"I just did what I had to do. You only asked me to do that right.", another person spoke.

"Just shut up ok. If anyone get to know that you were the one who did this then you will be dead", the first person spoke.

"I didn't do anything to be honest. I just cut the power off but I didn't stab him", the second person spoke.

"Then who will be that person stabbed him?", the first person asked...

"I think the curse really exists.", the second person finished.
