Today marks the awarding of the Genre Runner-ups of all eleven Genres judged from June 1 to 12 of the Imperial Scribe Awards. Among all the participants in the said awards, these books and writers have risen to be the top one book of their genre.

Here ye! Here ye! The Northern Scribe Award for Genre Champion of the Imperial Scribe Awards 2020 is henceforth to be awarded to:

THE HOODIE GIRL by XX_FLYING_PANDAS_XX of the ROMANCE GENRE!

The start of the book itself is amazing. Every end of the chapter makes you curious. I couldn't stop myself from reading the other chapters. There was no hint of boredom. This story was like a rollercoaster filled with different emotions. The main character Aria , can make you fall in love. The character description is wow. Grammar mistakes are nowhere to be found. This book was a bag of excitement. How Aria deals with her ups and downs . How her own people hurt her whom she had trusted. The author has got amazing writing skills. I can read this book again and again. It's surely worthy for first place in every awards.

UNWANTED by RAMAYANAROXAS of the SCIENCE FICTION GENRE!

Political intricacies and the burdens of a crown are in full display in Unwanted. A deep look into MC Lizaveta state of mind gives this dystopian story a refreshing twist. Unafraid to wield her power when necessary, yet still fearful of what that crown represents, Lizaveta treads a fine line between duty and desire. Vulnerable and flawed, ambitious but grounded, Lizaveta's character development is skillfully done and always leaves us wanting more.

The romance element of the book is also quite compelling. Her relationship with the other MC, Ly, is a central part of the story. Both characters have a deep connection by the time the plot starts, which is evident in every exchange they have. Already close and possibly in love with each other, the story takes us through their dynamic, building the foundations for their eventual relationship.

The world building is captivating. The author lets us know all the intricacies of this world while painting a brilliant picture. The characters are quite complex, neither black nor white, making Unwanted an exciting, enthralling read.

XAVIER by BOOKLORED of the THRILLER GENRE!

This book is sexy. Sexy enough that I felt my cheeks warm even as a rainstorm raged outside my window. Going into it I didn't realize that the book was a sequel of sorts. It was only when I scrolled down to the relatable comments that I saw how much I was missing.

Written in perfect detail, in steamy deliciousness, Xavier can seriously make you feel alive. Mysterious, thrilling, seductive and action-packed, this book will surely keep you on your toes. 

A TIMELY KNIGHT by DAVENITE27 of the ACTION GENRE!

Have I died and went to steampunk heaven? No? Because it feels like it. A Timely Knight by DaveNite27 is perfectly written under the pen of a talented writer. The plot is amazing, the world building is on point, the characters are realistic and relatable.

It is a rare gem amongst a sea of fanfiction and wrong grammar. This book deserves to be discovered by Hyperion or Scholastic, published in hardbound with deckle edges. DaveNite27 has talent. Not just any kind of talent, but a talent that should be put on paper and shared with the world.

Would I read this book again? Yes. Do I want it on the NY Times Bestselling List? Only if it's number one. Would I pay twenty dollars for this to be in book form and on my shelf? Make that a hundred.

You are missing out if you don't read it.

THE CASE PUZZLE by BOWDOWNPEASANTZ of the MYSTERY GENRE!

Oh my God!!! I was speechless when I finished reading this book. I could imagine every scene, and this shows that this is an amazing book as the reader is able to imagine the scenario. The main character description was so good. This story was filled with mystery, horror and somewhere humorous also. I fell in love with this book. I was honored that I got to judge this book. The author is amazing. Talking about the story. The plot gives you a complete satisfaction at the end. And the feel to continue reading the book... The harder she tries to solve the mystery, more things put her life into danger. And moreover this book is female centered. Girl power. 

VICTOR by KYVELO of the SHORT STORY GENRE

Never has a book been so melodiously painful as Kyvelo's Victor. It follows a boy in denial of grief, rendered numb to all emotion, and by circumstance, pain, due to the death of his mother. I say melodious because Kyvelo writes in a way that each word sounds in my head like a beat to a song.

The book is morbid, graphic, and painful, like an inner look at a depressed mind. I truly believe that maybe Kyvelo is the reincarnation of the great Edgar Allan Poe. It's scary but in a good way. It's good in a scary way. I have not read anything like it, and maybe that's a good thing, for anything that comes after this will obviously pale in comparison. 

THE PAINTERS DEATH WISH by PARANORMAL_PRINCESS of the PARANORMAL GENRE!

I have read stories with psychological dilemmas however, B.C. Lawrence's Painter's Death Wish shoved my curiosity. The story was written in an emotionally gruesome way. The story revolves of a boy who is in deep aesthetic madness caused by his confusions of real art. "Is blood not thicker than the paint?" Literally, the painting's medium is the painter's blood and flesh. The author's ideology on psychologically troubled individuals is an eye opener for everyone that the horrors they face are not just a typical fears but tormenting nightmares. Every book is not worth comparing to any other stories because it has its own uniqueness and standout at its genre. And this one, the author just nailed it.

SILVER ROSE by MYSTCIBEAUTYTALES26 of the FANFICTION GENRE!

The title of the book is unique which attracts you. The book is about a girl who loves Park Jimin, a popular guy in the school but the guy does not love her because she is a nerd. This story may be like you have heard of it many times but what makes it different is that the girl does not accept her defeat and make the guy feel her love. One thing that she does not know is that her best friend loves her. The book is a different one especially the love triangle that is going to be present. The plot is very nice. I have read a lot of story about love triangle or you fell in love with your bully but is one is not deja vu. It's emotional and a little depressive but in a good way

HOUSE OF CARDS by ICYMONKEY2004 of the FANTASY GENRE

The story was written beyond an ordinary imagination. I've been reading lots of fantasy books and this one, I have never read anything like this that it bedazzles me while reading the chapters.. The concept is new to me and the characters are so unique. The creativity on how the author portrays the adventure of Annalise is overwhelming. It is a worth reflecting story, it talks about loyalty, how to be wise and use what you have to regain what's lost. Icemonkey2004's House of Cards is my new definition of an awesome adventure. Heck, it's one of the best.

THE VOID BETWEEN HEARTS by TAMUNOSAKIOGAREE  of the GENERAL FICTION GENRE!

If The Fault in Our Stars was Nigerian, it would be The Void Between Hearts.

The book is entrenched in the euphoric newness of first love, and yet is only dampened by the idea that love, although powerful, is never enough to conquer the looming threat of death. Every day is both a blessing and a curse, each day might be our best or our last.

The story captures emotions in such perfect detail that you feel every high and low as if it were your own. So if you're looking for a good coming-of-age book, make sure to pick this one up. 

SERENDIPITY by _SUNFLOWERGAL of the POETRY GENRE!

This book captures the beauty of nature and emotion in a few pages. I anything is wrong with it then it's because it was way too short. I wish more books would delve into the celestial elements like Serendipity does with its description of the sun, the moon, and the sky. When I read it , it felt like I was floating in time with the writer, as if she was whispering to me as we looked up, felt the rain, and let go of the pain together. It's an immersive experience, and one I hope you would enjoy as well.
