Comatose

I woke up in the morning feeling a bit off. I got out of bed and ran a hand through my hair. That's funny. I could have sworn I got enough sleep, last night. Maybe I should've worn something warm, like a jacket, while I was stargazing. I sleepily fumbled for my watch and looked at the time.

7:45 AM

'Holy shit!' I thought, panicking. 'I'll be late!'

I rushed to the bathroom after getting changed and quickly brushed my teeth. The bus arrives on my block at 7:55 AM sharp, so I hurried to eat some toast, hug Mom goodbye, pet Chief, grab my backpack, and rush out the door. When I got to the bus stop, Jake was already there, waiting for me.

"Took ya long enough, Sam," he muttered. He looked at me suspiciously, and I waved him off. He did have a point, though. I was never this late getting to school, not since third grade.

"Sorry," I apologized breathlessly. "I don't know what's going on with me."

"Did you play any more Undertale?"

"No, I was too tired. And right now, I could use a nap. I feel like I didn't sleep well."

"Maybe I should splash cold water in your face. That'll wake you up, right?"

I gasped and shoved him playfully.
"Don't you dare! I'll look like I ran through a sprinkler!"

Jake laughed and I rolled my eyes. Soon, the bus arrived. Jake went first, and as I ascended the first step after him, I slipped. I fell and hit my head on the top step.

"Sam! Are you ok?" Jake rushed to help me up, and I held a hand to my injury.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. I think."

We took our seats and Jake turned to look at my head.
"Jeez, Sam. You should be more careful."

"Damn, thanks for the sympathy."

He winced at my sarcastic, biting tone. The ride to school was quiet, too quiet. It was if I was slowly being cut off from my surroundings. My head was pounding, and I felt nauseous. What the hell was wrong with me?!

We got off the bus without a problem, thankfully. Jake gave me a worried look, noticing how pale I looked.
"Sam, we should go to the nurse's office. You look horrible."

"O-ok...." I kept my hand to my head, and we headed down a hallway to the nurse's office. Since it was usually packed this early in the morning, we took a different route, one with almost no people present in the hallway. On the way there, my vision began to blur. I tried shaking my head, but I couldn't dispell the dizziness. And oh my god, it just got a lot worse. I stopped in the middle of the hallway, letting go of Jake's hand.

"S-Sam? What's wrong?"

My vision suddenly went completely black, though I was sure I still had my eyes open. I doubled over, groaning in pain, and sunk to the floor. The last thing I heard was Jake's alarmed voice calling for help, before everything went silent.

... ... ...

I heard crying. Where am I? Why can't I open my eyes? Why can't I move?!

"There is nothing more we can do, Mr. and Mrs. Jacobsen. Your daughter is comatose."

Comatose? How? None of my family members have ever had brain diseases. Do they cause comas? No, I think I read somewhere they're caused by....

Head injuries.

That's it! I must've hit my head just right to trigger a coma. But, shouldn't I have been knocked out right away? What is going on?!

"Sam?" A raspy, tired voice called from my... right? Left? Gah, now I'm getting my directions mixed up!
"I-if you can hear me, it's Jake. I hope you get better, and I hope w-we can go back to playing that game. Y-you said you wanted to do a violin cover of Toriel's theme, remember? And you promised to knit me an ugly Christmas sweater for the fun of it after you took that home ec class last year. A-and what about your music college you always dreamed of attending? You've got your whole life ahead of you still, Sam. You've got to wake up. So, like in that game, stay determined."

I heard shuffling, then footsteps. No! No, Jake, I'm here! Fucking body, move! Do something, anything! Tell him I'm here! Please, I don't want to be alone! Please!

B U T  N O B O D Y  C A M E .

No, no, no, this can't be the end! I-I don't wanna die! I want to live! I can't die! Jake said stay determined. Ok. I'll do that, Yeah, I will not give... up...

Beep, beep, beep, beep.

.........

Uh, is it just me, or is that beeping getting slower?

Beep... beep... beep... beep....

Wait, no! It is getting slower!

Beep.... beep.... beep....

No, no, no, no, no, no, no!

Beep........ beep........... beep............

No, stay determined. Stay determined!

Beep.......... beep...............

*Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep*

The World of the Deities....

"Hah hah! Excellent work, Destiny!" Fate trilled as he held the human soul in his grasp. It was a mix of teal, yellow, and a sliver of green. Hmm, would that be a problem later? Maybe not. A benevolent Destroyer, even in their insanity, will see their work as an act of Mercy, as well as preventing the total destruction of the multiverse. Yes. This is good. Such a perfect soul for the role. One half Patience, the other half Justice, and just a dash of Kindness.

A truly balanced soul.

Now to add the final touches.

Fate flipped the soul upside down, using some magic to give it the appearance of a monster soul. He injected it with intense amounts of DETERMINATION, then began work on the new body. He decided it would look like an average Sans, but with glitches to make him stand out from a crowd.

"Anything you'd like to add, Destiny? This project wouldn't be ours if you didn't contribute."

Destiny thought a moment.
"Well, there is one thing."
He took the soul in one hand, and formed blue strings with the other. They wrapped themselves around the soul, giving it a lovely pattern reminiscent of a spider's web.

"Is that all, brother? You know once he leaves this place, we cannot change him."

"I know."
Destiny studied the new body. It looked like a normal Sans. White bones, blue jacket, pink slippers. The only major differences were the glitches randomly appearing on his body. Destiny's strings created neon blue streaks down his face, and the eyelights were the same as every other Sans; white and blank. Destiny decided this was a terrible look, since the soul he will have deserved to be special.
"I think we should change his appearance."

"How?"

"We shouldn't make him look so much like a Sans. For one thing, he never was a Sans, and for another, didn't you want him to stand out?"

"Yes," Fate mused, looking his creation over. "I'm leaving the glitches, but... hmm... what do you suggest I change?"

"Make his bones black. That's sure to set him apart. Change the color of his clothing, too. His eyes shouldn't be the same, either. Now, you have a perfect glitch."

Fate did as Destiny suggested. He waved his hand over the soul and body, forcing them to fuse. The body gasped as it breathed for the first time, but didn't move. Fate looked over his creation once more. It still resembled a Sans somewhat, but the bones had turned black, the color of the darkest onyx, the jacket was black with yellow trim, the shorts were black with two blue stripes down each leg, and the slippers were a blood red. As extra touches, some bones were turned red and yellow, giving him an even more mismatched appearance.

"There," Fate stated confidently. "He is ready."

Destiny looked down into the skeleton's cream and blue-rimmed eyelights. They were glazed over and unfocused, but the spark of life burned in them like small stars. The deity smiled softly. His brother truly is talented, isn't he?

"Now, to put him in the Anti-Void."
Fate opened a portal to the blank world, and sent the skeleton in. The portal closed, and Destiny sighed.
"Something wrong, brother?"

"I hope you have enough time to go through with your plan, Fate. Ink may not know it, but he and his creations are counting on you."

"I know, Destiny," Fate replied. "I do, too."

"Are their memories gone?"

"Most of them, yes. But, the most important things still remain, such as their love for the stars, as well as essential skills. Don't worry, brother. The coma has done our job for us."

Hai. The font isn't staying consistent lol. Anyway, we are finally getting to the fun part! Fate and Destiny are working together to bring a destroyer into existence. Yay!

Hope you enjoy, cya!
