Shin and Ji Yeon kill time before the movie by playing the toy claw machine in the arcade. Shin proudly says there is nothing I can't do and offers to win her anything she wants and she points at the lighter, he repeatedly tries and tries only to fail miserably every time, and she snarks that it's useless that he can summon gold when he can't even get a toy out of a machine.

(GOBLIN 도깨비 Soundtrack 06 Various Artists - The Glittering Wind 반짝이는 바람 as Shin tries to get the lighter at from the claw machine and Ji Yeon criticizing him.)

Then they go to a restaurant to eat and Ji Yeon gulps to plates of smoked beef and some veggies while Shin just ate one piece of steak.

They settle in for the scary movie and Shin tells her not to be embarrassing and shout too much and too just tell him if she is scared , and Ji Yeon asks how scary it could be compared to her 19 years of a horror show life.

Ji Yeon says "This should be a piece of cake"

She clamps a hand over his mouth and has to apologize to all their neighbors, and complains later that she didn't get to pay attention to the movie at all because of him. She says she isn't very hungry, so Shin gets petty and orders a single sandwich and doesn't share.

Ji Yeon scoffs at him and narrows her eyes.

(GOBLIN 도깨비 Soundtrack 16 Various Artists - God's Supper 신들의 만찬 starts playing in the background as Shin starts to mock Ji Yeon and tease her with the Sandwich.)

Shin purposely opens his mouth wide and takes large bites and yummy sounds Infront of Ji Yeon to make her mouth watery, which definitely seem to be working as she can't stop gulping and thinking about the sandwich.

(Omg Shin is bullying a 19 year old 😭😭😭.)

She tries to distract herself by talking about her math paper but mixes food with that also saying "For question number seven, I applied the equation and used lettuce as X......I mean I almost got confused with that question. Is it tasty???"

Shin nods and says yes with a proud face.

She tries to make him split it by saying "Their large sized sandwiches are really huge. It's not healthy for you to eat so much."

Shin defends himself by saying even she had a large sized mango juice before too and sarcastically mentions that she even ate countless cows before that in the restaurant before the movie.

Ji Yeon asks why he's still holding a grudge and why he bothered giving her all those gifts if he was going to take them back.

Ji Yeon goes on saying sadly"They were like goodbye gifts"

She thinks it's weird that he gave them to her like as if he wasn't going to be around anymore, and then she realizes that all the gifts were exactly what each person wanted. Shin just kept quiet and stared at her stopping himself from telling her truth.

(GOBLIN 도깨비 Soundtrack 08 Various Artists - When The Time Stops 시간이 멈출 때 starts playing in the background of this whole scene till Shin and Ji Yeon sit in the subway looking at each other expressing their emotions.)

Shin as a voiceover says to himself in his mind "You cannot know the truth , Park Ji Yeon."

"farewell gift. That's right, isn't it-farewell gifts? You were going to leave us once that sword was out, weren't you?" she asks. Shin reminds her that he said he'd prepare to go far away once he found the bride, and Ji Yeon gets choked up as she asks where he's going, and if he still wants to leave.

But he answers, "No, I don't want to go. But if the bride really does appear, that choice will no longer be mine."

She hangs her head at that, thinking that he means to leave with another woman someday, and he asks if she'll let him go then. "No, I won't," she says, tamping down her tears. She tells him to just abandon her, and adds that she'll leave first so that she doesn't have to watch him go.

Deok-hwa drives Ji Yoen to school the next day and hears that she's still Cinderella (or Kongji, the Korean folk version) in the house, while she dubs Shin as the evil stepmother.

Deok-hwa thinks it's odd that his uncle, whose thousand-year wrath can be squelched with one glimpse at an idol girl group on TV, is nothing but a big grouch ever since Ji Yeon came along.

(Lol that girl idol group in Chapter 3 Part 2 😂😂😂😂.)

He figures that she must really not be his type, and Ji Yeon grumbles at the mention of girl groups and says that everyone says you're supposed to get prettier once you go to college.

"Just wait till I get into college! I will make him regret it" she grinds out, cracking her knuckles. Deok-hwa widens his eyes seeing at her anger and he gulps and looks straight on the road avoiding her.
