We're going back into the past with this one!

After a few months of being bullied, binge eating, and suicidal ideation, Rue was finally going to try to do it. She was gonna do a Dazai.

"Where are you going?" Suzu asked her sister as she got up from the couch.

Rue glanced back at the TV for a moment, they were watching a movie together. "I just need to go to the bathroom." She sped upstairs, opening the bathroom door with urgency. Once she closed it, she began to cry. Even breathing felt painful...

As this happened, the Melodies rejoiced! Rue was finally going to be helpful to them for once in her life.

"Yes... go on. Don't be scared." Mary whispered, appearing in the mirror. She reached her hand out, and climbed off the sink. "I'll help ya, so you can rest." She smiled warmly at Rue, her ears wiggling.

Rue nodded. "Alright... yes..." She filled the bathtub up with water as Mary stood over her. When it was finally done, she got in. "I'm afraid." She said shakily, her black hair falling over her face.

Mary chuckled, seemingly amused. "That's fine. I told you I'd help you, didn't I?"

"Mhm..." Rue thought for a moment, and then remembered her first word was a greeting. She knew what she wanted her last word to be. "Goodbye."

Mary nodded, and pushed Rue's head into the water.

Her heart was pounding as she inhaled water, she tried to pull her head up to breathe, but Mary pushed it down.

"No, stay down." Mary had a hateful grin on her face as she forcefully drowned her.

Rue squirmed around, and eventually accepted her fate. This was what she wanted, wasn't it? "Goodbye Father, goodbye Suzu... goodbye. I love you, I really do." She thought, before going unconscious.

Suzu barged in, and pulled her out. "Rue!!" She exclaimed worriedly. "DADDY!!!!" She called, despair in her voice.

Mary could not be seen by Suzu. She stood in the room, cackling at the scene.

Rue was rushed to the ER, and was actually dead until she was revived.

Meanwhile, the Melodies and the twins were confused as to why the perfect world hadn't been created.

Wakumi pouted. "This sucks! You promised that there would be a happy world for us all to hang out in, Mary."

Mary grumbled, clearly angry. "Yes, I know that, *****." Her tail whipped back and forth, as she wondered what to do. "Well, Rue is unconscious but alive right now. We can pull her soul here, and make an artificial world for her to be stuck in with us. How's that sound? Is that good enough?" She groaned, rolling her eyes.

The Melodies agreed, and Melody Bee got to work speaking that artificial world into being.

-

Rue woke up in a colorful world, one that was almost overstimulating. "Where am I...? Is this heaven? Where's Mother?" She sat up, looking around.

Yasuka ran to welcome her. "Hey!! You're finally here!!! I guess you could call this place heaven, but I'm sorry to say your mother isn't here." She said, grinning. She reached her hand out, helping Rue stand up.

"This is your resting place." Aerlinniel explained.

Setsuko was seen watching videos on a phone, her scrolling seemed endless. She was falling back into her internet addiction.

Antionette, on the other hand was surrounded by boys. "Ah! So handsome..." She gushed, a look of pure joy on her face.

Wakumi, Faith, and Suki were all playing with Garff.

Rue thought this place was pretty fun, besides the fact that Mary and Melanie were fighting. There was something that confused her though... she couldn't see Erity anywhere. "I see. Where's the last one of you all... Erity." She asked quietly.

"Oh, her?" Aerlinniel scoffed. "We put her in the box." The elf woman pointed to a box with some holes for air poked through it.

The sky was a beautiful pink, and littered with thousands of stars! It was night nor day. In the distance, you could see a huge treehouse. Melody Bee was waving from the balcony.

Aerlinniel laughed. "Come, sisters. Let's all go to the treehouse and have a party!"

All of the Melodies cheered and raced up to the treehouse, except Erity... she stayed in the box.

Inside of the house, it was much bigger than it looked on the outside. There was a lovely dining room, a cozy bedroom with a bunch of bunkbeds, a nice living room, and then finally a library. Of course, there was a bathroom. Don't worry.

They all partied for hours! Much laughter filled the air as they got up to many shenanigans.

"Wait a minute, guys. I need to go take a piss." Melody announced at one point, a silly smirk on her face.

Everyone giggled at her joke, and continued to converse about random things.

Rue had secretly followed Melody, sensing that she wasn't being truthful. She walked to the bathroom, and opened the door. She was met with Melody glaring at her reflection in the mirror. "Melody...? Why is going to the bathroom always the excuse?!!"

Melody turned to Rue, tears in her eyes. "Because it's easy!!" Her voice was strained, and she dropped to her knees. "It's not enough, it's not happy enough. I don't feel it... why are dreams so far away? I don't feel the happiness I spoke of. I miss my Fandaniel..." The cat girl covered her face with her hands.

Suddenly, a voice began to speak. "I understand the feeling of dreams not being enough. It's okay..."

"The Unseen One?!" Melody screeched in shock.

"Yes." The Unseen One replied. "That's me. Anyway, Rue. You need to kill all of these people, that's the only way you'll get out."

Rue frantically shook her head no. "What?! That's a crime!! I don't want to hurt anyone... I don't want to kill anyone..."

The Unseen One let out an exasperated sigh. "You won't actually be hurting them, they're already dead. You need to get back to your life, for the story to continue."

Everyone came running to the bathroom, and gasped. "THE UNSEEN ONE!! GOD HERSELF!!!"

"No, I am not God. I have a God of my own... some of you serve him. Don't ever refer to me as a god again, because I'm simply your creator." She explained.

Faith pretended to be happy about The Unseen One's presence. "Oh! I love you sooo much!! I'm so happy you made my story the way it was."

The Unseen One began to get frustrated. "You don't have to lie to me!! I know you hate my guts, Faith."

As this happened, Rue was contemplating whether or not she should free herself. She wasn't exactly interested in living...

"Rue! KILL THEM." The voice of her creator commanded forcefully.

The happy appearance of the world began to glitch.

"NO!! You have to stay!!!" Mary yelled furiously, trying to beat Rue.

If it weren't for Melanie holding Mary back, Rue would have been dead meat. "She must go back to her world! She cannot remain in this delusion!!"

Somehow, Rue killed them all. She didn't even know how she did it... everything blurred together whilst they screamed. When she was all alone, she looked down at her bloody hands. "I-I-I-- I'm a murderer." Heat seemed to wash over her body, and her heart thumped as it ached.

"Court adjourned..." Mary muttered bitterly as she lay limp on the ground.

-

Rue slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry. Nurses stood over her. "I'm alive..." The girl thought.

"She's awake." One said.
