Alton was walking to the office of the count to give him the report of the day. "I'd appreciate it if you would try and persuade him to give me freedom and in writing. Of course I'll be helping when I get there too." Alton spoke up.

"Yes sir. I'll try my best!" Clayton said while walking behind him.

When they got there Alton took a deep breath and walked in and looked at the count when he was right Infront of the desk. "I'm here to give my report, father." Alton said.

The count looked at his son as he listened to him give his report. He told him how he finally finished the room and even said how much he spent and on what. Because of the fact he didn't spend much but managed to get the things to make it look like a grand room. He was happy and impressed with what his son have done.

"Father could I possibly have permission to do as I like around the estate?" Alton asked. When the count looked at him once again he started to continue. "I think I should have at least that much since I have been doing a great job around the places you said. So I was justing wondering if I could have sort of full authority around the estate?"

". . . . I see, I'll think about it. . You may leave." The count spoke up.

Alton bowed some and then left, unknowingly to the count he shared a with Clayton before he left. Clayton stayed and looked at the count. He could tell the count was thinking about it Clayton smiled and walked closer. "Sir as you told me I stayed with the young lord. He have been working very hard around the estate, and if you give him some freedom he might be able to run this estate when he takes over." Clayton said to the count.

The count looked at him and started to write something down. "I suppose your right." Count Cornelius spoke back while writing.

Clayton knew that the count was writing something for Alton. He gave a small smile to this and looked at the count. Young lord we did it.

A few minutes later when the count was done writing something he stamped it and looked at Clayton. "I want you to stay with Alton. Just incase he slips up, if he does report to me immediately." The count said and he didn't even give Clayton a chance to talk back. He held out the piece of paper to him. "And make sure he has this too." The count finished.

Clayton took it and bowed to him, while walking out, saying nothing back to the count. Like hell I'm going to do that, if I do the young lord would be in danger, he'd be beaten. . . He's one person in this estate I would never want to see hurt.

Once Clayton got to Alton's study he walked in and explained what the count had told him. "I want you to do that." Alton said.

". . . . Wait. . ." Clayton said trying to process what he just heard. "You want me to what?!" He asked shocked and confused as he was looking at Alton.

Alton placed his elbows on the desk and held his hands together, a small smirk appeared on his face. "I want you to tell the count everything I do wrong. If you don't he might get suspicious, if you do then he won't know anything is going on and he'll think I'm just someone who is learning about how to be a count." Alton said.

Clayton was looking at the boy and gave a small smile. Yeah. . . Really is terrifying. "I understand. I'll do that but sir what if he punishes you?" Clayton asked.

"Please. . . Isabella and Adina not to mention the countess would always beat me up no matter what I done. I'm use to their abuse. So no need to worry about me." Alton said to Clayton looking away some.

Clayton felt his heart break as he heard Alton say that to him. He looked down some and hair covering his eyes as he did. Alton noticed Clayton was looking down and he gave a small smile. "Is that it Clayton?" He asked him.

Clayton snapped out of his thoughts and looked at him shaking his head. "No sir! There is this too!" Clayton handed over the piece of paper.

Alton took it off him and started to read through what the paper said. A smirk appeared on his face he was reading. Clayton noticed this and was confused as Alton was doing that.

"Interesting. . ."
