Chapter 2
All four of the Mukami brothers were all gathered in the living room after they had gotten home after school had finished for the night.
None of them were actually speaking to one another, they were all just doing their own things.
Ruki was sitting in an armchair reading a book, as usual. Yuma was sitting on one of the couches eating sugar cubes. Azusa was sitting on the couch beside Yuma admiring one of his knives. And Kou was sitting on the other couch daydreaming about his newfound crush, Kaylee Sakamaki.
He couldn't stop thinking about her since school earlier. How he wished he'd gotten the chance to actually talk to her. If her damn brothers hadn't gotten in the way like that, he would've been able to speak to her. The only reason he hadn't just shoved Ayato and Laito out of his way, was because that would've upset Kaylee. He'd rather not speak to her at all than upset her.
Kou was so busy daydreaming, that he wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention to his brothers. Not even when they started talking about him.
"Tch, looks like someone is in their own little world" Yuma commented
"Hm, it's a little creepy" Ruki said, not even looking up from his book.
Kou then snapped back to reality, realizing what his brothers were saying.
"Shut up, you guys!" he said, trying to get them to back off. It didn't work though.
"Kou...is something...wrong?" Azusa asked, looking at his brother with a somewhat concerned expression.
Before Kou could answer though, Yuma answered Azusa.
"There's nothing wrong with him, Azusa" he said "It's probably just some girl he likes who doesn't like him back because she actually has a brain, unlike his mindless fangirls"
Kou glared at Yuma "Shut up!"
"That's exactly it, isn't it?" Yuma chucked "Why worry about it when you can just go out with one of your mindless fangirls?"
Kou glared at him again. He then got up and left the room, going up to his own room.
As he lay back on his bed, he began to think about Kaylee once again. His brothers had no idea what they were talking about. Yes, his problem involved a girl but it wasn't exactly like she didn't like him back. He didn't know if she did or not, but he'd never know unless he got past her brothers.
There were just so many things he loved about Kaylee. She was so beautiful for a start. She had the most gorgeous light blue hair that was always in a high ponytail when he saw her at school. Her shining navy blue eyes were the most beautiful he'd ever seen. And when she'd smiled at him earlier, it was the most cute smile he'd ever been given.
That was just her looks, he also loved how kind and gentle she was. He knew from seeing how she was around her brothers that she was very kind, loving and gentle. She was also so cute with how she smiled and when she laughed.
The truth was, even though it didn't seem like it, Kou had noticed Kaylee quite a long time ago. It was a few months ago when he'd seem her for the first time. She had been with two of her brothers, going down the hall to her class. He just couldn't take his eyes off her as she walked by. That was when he noticed that she was in two of his classes and soon enough, he began developing feelings for her.
He'd just been too scared to approach her. He could've tonight if her brothers hadn't stopped him.
How he wished she wasn't a Sakamaki. He personally didn't have a problem with her being a Sakamaki but his brothers would if they knew how he felt about her. And her brothers wouldn't let him anywhere near her.
Sure, he had a lot of fangirls who were obsessed with him that he could be with. But, Kaylee was different from them. He'd only ever playfully flirt with them, while he actually loved Kaylee to the point where he'd been afraid to talk to her.
Kou thought about how he could ever get past Kaylee's brothers and tell her how he feels for a while. He eventually came up with something. It probably wouldn't work, but it was worth a try. He got up and left his room, going down to Ruki's room.
Yes, he was going to Ruki for help. But he didn't intend on actually telling him about how he felt about Kaylee.
Kou opened the door to Ruki's room and went in, without even knocking. Sure enough, Ruki was sitting in a chair reading a book.
"Ruki?!" Kou said.
"What?" Ruki sighed, not even looking up from his book.
"I...need your help with something" Kou said, a little nervously.
This time, Ruki actually looked up at his brother "With what exactly?"
"I...I was wondering if you would ever consider us...you know trying to get along with the Sakamaki's maybe" Kou told Ruki, nervously.
"No" was all Ruki said, looking back down at his book.
"B-But, Ruki-" Kou began to say.
"I said no!" Ruki said sharply, cutting Kou off "I'm surprised at you, Kou. Actually thinking about us trying to get along with them. Why would you think about something like that anyway?"
"N-No reason! I'll just go now!" Kou said, quickly leaving the room. He knew if he stayed any longer, Ruki would begin to start getting pushy and demanding to know why he was even mentioning the Sakamaki's name in their home.
Kou went back to his own room feeling defeated. How was he ever going to get to talk to Kaylee now? Trying to convince Ruki that they could try get along with the Sakamaki's was the only thing he could think of.
He desperately wanted to be in a relationship with Kaylee. But, he'd never get past her protective brothers. And even if he did, his own brothers would never approve of him being in a relationship with the Sakamaki girl.
Kou sighed, lying down on his bed. He turned to the side, thinking about what it would be like if he ever got together with Kaylee. It was quite sad to think that it'll probably never happen. She probably didn't even feel the same way about him. She'd been nice to him earlier when she'd got her brothers to leave him alone. But, that didn't mean that she liked him back, did it?
"If only I could tell you how much I love you, Kaylee" Kou whispered quietly, burying his face in his pillow.
