"Kaylee! What is going on here!" Kaylee away from Kou jumped when she heard her brother's angry shout. She turned to look at him, glaring at the two of them.

"Subaru, I-" she began to try explain, but was cut off by Kou 

"Hey there, Sakamaki" he grinned, chuckling.

Subaru gave him a death glare "You. Just what were you doing with my sister!"

"Honestly, not much" Kou said, teasingly.

Kaylee was watching all this, feeling very uncomfortable. She had a bad feeling about what was going on. Subaru had a bad temper and was quick to lose it. She knew that he wouldn't be afraid to hurt Kou if he lost his temper.

"You better not have hurt her!" Subaru growled at Kou, clenching his fists.

Kou laughed and then placed his hands on Kaylee's shoulders "Maybe I was just claiming her as my own"

Subaru then grabbed Kaylee's arm, being careful not to hurt her, and dragged her away from Kou.

"Never touch my sister again!" he shouted at him, once again shooting him a death glare.

"Subaru, please-" Kaylee began, only to be cut off again.

"Be quiet, Kaylee!" Subaru said, dragging her down the hall away from Kou.

Kou smiled to himself, as he watched Subaru drag Kaylee down the hall. He wasn't the slightest bit worried about him. He could easily deal with someone like him on his own. Kaylee was going to be his, whether the hot-tempered Sakamaki brother liked it or not.

Kaylee tried to argue with her brother to let her go the whole time, but he wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention to her. This only made her more angry. It was odd, she never got angry at Subaru. If either of them was to get angry, it was usually him. But it was also rare for him to get angry at her.

Eventually, Subaru pulled Kaylee into a small room and shut the door. 

"Explain what was going on back there now!" he demanded.

Kaylee folded her arms. She was sick of being pushed around by her brothers all the time. Seriously, they treated her as if they owned her.

"Why should I?" Kaylee said "It's none of your business!"

Subaru glared at Kaylee "Don't be difficult, Kaylee! I need to know what he was doing to you!"

"He wasn't doing anything wrong, Subaru!" Kaylee shouted, tears filling her eyes "Why can't you just stay out of this?!"

"I don't like him, Kaylee!" Subaru growled "And I know that he has bad intentions for you!"

"I don't care if you like him or not!" Kaylee screamed, tears beginning to spill from her eyes now "I'm in love with Kou and I know that he loves me too!"

"He's trying to deceive you, Kaylee!" Subaru said, lowering his tone now "I'm just looking out for you!"

"No, you're not!" Kaylee shouted "You're making me miserable! All of you are! You all treat me like I can't take care of myself and like you own me! I'm sick of it!"

Subaru was speechless, shocked by his sister's sudden outburst. Could it be true what she was saying? Was he really making her miserable? All he wanted to do was protect her and take care of her. He never wanted to hurt her or upset her.

"This is the first time anyone other than you guys has made me feel loved and wanted" Kaylee said, lowering her voice "Mother always used to say that no one would ever love me and even though she's dead now, I still want to prove her wrong"

"Kaylee, you know you are better than that woman will ever be" Subaru said, coming over to her "Your mother was a cruel and narcissistic woman, who said and did whatever she wanted. Everything she said to you was a complete lie"

Subaru didn't know the full story of what Cordelia had done to Kaylee when she was a child. He only knew some of it. The triplets knew about everything that happened back then to her They had grown up with her, after all.

Kaylee wiped at her eyes to stop her tears "You know that I still can't believe that, Subaru..."

"Kaylee, the six of us will always love you and care for you" he told her "Do you really need him to make you feel loved and wanted?"

Kaylee nodded "I'm in love with him, Subaru. Please, just leave us alone"

Subaru sighed "Fine. But, I will hurt him badly if he does anything to you!"

Kaylee smiled and wrapped her arms around her brother, hugging him tightly "Thank you, Subaru!"

After a minute, Subaru eventually hugged his sister back "I'll always be here for you, Kaylee"

While he hated Kou the most out of all the Mukami brothers, he was willing to let Kaylee be with him if it made her happy. He would do pretty much anything to make her happy. After everything she's been through in the past, she deserved to be happy.

Subaru understood how Kaylee felt about her mother. He'd had a bad childhood due to his own mother as well. His mother was the cause of his bad-temper and quick anger. He wasn't always this way. 

But now, the only female he trusted and was gentle towards was Kaylee. He hadn't been close to her at all before that night a few years ago. It was only when she tried to do that, that he'd understood exactly how she felt and how she was kind of similar to him.

That was when he had made her his one priority. He felt the most responsible for her. She was what kept him going on everyday. The only reason he was still here. She needed him to be around for her.

Kaylee eventually pulled away from, Subaru. Her tears had now stopped, though it was clear she had been crying due to her tear stained eyes. 

"Subaru, could you please not tell the others about this?" Kaylee asked, looking up at her brother "I'm just not ready to tell them yet"

Subaru nodded. He wasn't the type to interact with his brothers, or anyone for that matter. The person he spoke to the most was Kaylee.

"Thanks, Subaru!" Kaylee said, smiling at him.

"Like I said, I'll always be there for you" Subaru told her "Now, dry your eyes if you don't want anyone else to see you were crying"

Kaylee smiled again and nodded. She didn't know when she was going to tell the rest of her brothers about her and Kou, but she was grateful to Subaru to be willing to keep it a secret for her. She knew that she had to tell them all eventually, she just didn't when would be the right time.

She still had to deal with that mortal, Yui Komori, anyways.
