Chapter One
I sprinted toward the school, my bookbag thudding against my back as I ran. My unfinished homework stuffed inside my novel for english that I had forgotten about until this morning. I had rushed getting ready to try to get it done. I didn't even get past question three before I had to bolt out the door in order to make it to school on time. Stupid assigned reading.
My English teacher, Mr. Yebigan, was a huge fan of old literature. Classics is what he called them. I called them outdated. Nonetheless, I still had to read them and fill out homework sheets. I honestly wished I didn't, but then again, what kid wants to?
I bounded into homeroom just as the late bell rang. I could feel everyone's eyes on me as I sat down in my seat and smiled up at Ms. Waticperg as she shook her head with a slight smile on her face and marked me down as present.
"You cut that a little close," my friend Lacy whispered from behind me. I shrugged and leaned back in my seat.
"Trying you finish my English homework. You get it done?"
"Pfft. You wish."
"I wish?"
"Yeah, so you could copy it." I shrugged. Normally I was completely against copying homework, but when it came to English... Well let's just say I used my resources.
"Perhaps. At least I do my own work most of the time."
"True." By that time the announcements had come on and the room was dead silent, thanks to some ass hole jocks that made talking like breaking the law in homeroom. It only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch, except there are 5 in my homeroom.
Finally the principal stopped rambling and the bell for first period rang. I leaped out of my seat and got out the door so I would have time to stop at my locker and dump my stuff and head to class.
A/N: Well hello everyone! If you read any of my other stories I am SO sorry I haven't updated in forever. School got very busy and I just wasn't able to keep up. I am happy to announce that I will be updating my books again, starting next month, all updates are changed to MONTHLY.
If you are here because I'm entering this book in the Wattys2017, well hi! And feel free to ignore that first part. I'm sorry the chapters are kinda short, but when I go back through to edit I'll probably add more.
Either way, please leave a comment, vote, or follow, all are appreciated, thanks for reading and I'll see you on Monday with Girl of Darkness, If not beforehand with Beware the Ides of March.
