∽ m i r a c l e ' s  p e r s p e c t i v e ∽

Alone. Dark. And it's 9:15 in the evening.

I'm now inside of my room, preparing myself for a sleep. But I can't sleep. Many revelations happened this morning.

Dennis' broken confession; the feud between my father's half-brother; and my parent's homecoming. Yes, they have just arrived this evening.

I have been itching to ask a confirmation about the thing that Tito Yan told me.

I let a heavy breath. This can't be helped. I got to ask my Dad. Without second thoughts, I sit down and get out off my bed.

As I open the door, I go outside and head directly to my Dad's study room. I'm sure that Dad is still working at this hour.

Sir Ian tells me that my father and Mister Will Nakajima are brothers by law. And Tito Yan were really close that time. Dear Lord, I can't imagine.

But now, what happened? Why everything is so complicated?

After few walks, I reach the study room. "Dad." I call while knocking on the door.

"Come on in, princess." I hear him reply and I hurriedly enter the room.

And Mom is not around, maybe she's sleeping right now. As soon as I am inside, I bow my head for respect. The room is sort of dark, and only the accent lights and a lampshade is giving light to Dad's study table.

"What do you need, lass?" Dad asks while removing his glasses. He looks at me with a calm yet quite sterned face.

I inhale and go towards where is he sitting. Standing up straight, I face him eye to eye. "Dad, I want to know what happened between you and Sir Nakajima."

His expression is still, it remains dark and cold. After a quick moment, Dad sighs and wearily leans his back on the swivel chair. He massages the brigde of his nose. Dad looks so stressed.

"Dad." I call, pleading him to answer my question.

"Did Ian tell you?"

"Yes. I asked him, though."

"That man does surely have a big mouth." Dad murmurs.

"So you were planning to keep it a secret?"

"That was what I'd wanted." He sighs out of frustration. "But now that you know, there's no point hiding it from you."

"Does Nathan know? How about Kuya Mike?" I query in bit agitation.

"Yes, they already knew it. Apart from you, of course."

"Why did you? Am I the only one who's fighting here without any idea what's the reason? The reason why you're fighting your own brother?" I just say out of frustration.

"Keep your head cool, Hime."

"Spare me, father, but I can't." I object while exhaling a deep air. "After all this time . . . I've been connected with this matter and played with my blades without knowing everything!"

My voice raised. I don't care if Dad will punish me after this. I want a clear explanation. I won't falter. If Dad will shut me this time, I will persistently ask about this frustrating, pointless fight.

"That's why I kept it a secret, Miracle. For you not to be connected." My father answers calmly.

"How can I be not connected?" I say audibly, "I've been fighting with my whole life on the risk! I have faced deaths many times! I have experienced clinging on a thin wire just because of this worthless misunderstanding and enviousness full of crap!"

"Watch your tongue, lady." Dad says firmly.

"Dad. Just please, tell me." I beg, breathing out.

He sighs, "All right," and then twists his chair, facing the outside.

This night, the moon is up. Its light are striking sharply through the fixed glass windows. The room is filled with dim lights, black and yellow in the surrounding.

I am here, remaining standing. My breaths are slightly heavy. I feel my heart tangling inside. Rumbles, tingles, and clinks. Repeating throbs on my veins, keeping a stern and bold face, shaking feet, and hands.

Nervous. Anxious. And terrified.

My father makes me sense all of this in just an instant. His aura becomes a pure malice. Pitch-black. I can't move. I'm unable to move.

"You seem lack understanding, Miracle. You disappoint me." He first utters, mocking me.

I stay silent. After hearing his judgment, I can no longer reply.

"Well, presumably, you do not know how many time did Will and I strangle each other's throat; point blades and guns; and hurt one's body." Dad states, feeling the sullen on his voice.

And in just no time, my heart saddened. I . . . don't know, those things happened.

"How many times did I plead him to ease this nonsense war." he continues, "But every time I ask him, it only ended into a bloody fight."

I stay listening to him. And once again, I'm completely shut.

"And each time we fight, I always win. That causes his anger deepened."

Now I remember the times when I was younger, that Dad was going home bloody and tired. So up to those times, he'd been trying to convince Mister Nakajima?

"Whenever those scenarios happened, he was always on the ground, it meant that he lose. I always had the opportunity to kill him." Then he pauses and asks me, "Do you know that, Miracle? I could kill him, so that everything would just end in peace. But I couldn't. I couldn't slash his throat off, because he is my brother.

"And then everything had gone worse when Akeesha got involved. After her death, he's been targetting you. It is the reason why I brought you here—for your safety. But Will is being persistent and kept chasing after your back."

Feeling sorry, I start to walk towards Dad's back. I bend my body down and wrap my arms around Dad's neck.

"I'm sorry, father. I truly am." I whisper.

"It's okay. You have the rights to be mad."

Dad is right. I do not know everything. I misjudged him. It's hard for Dad to do this. I should've thought more. I acted on my own.

"Miracle, I need to protect you with all cost." and he says.

"I can protect myself, Dad."

"I'm not sure of that."

"Then, what do I need to do?" I question.

"We have to leave this country."

~ ♕ ~

"Gaahh . . . What am I going to do now?" I grumble while slumping my face on the table.

"Then go out of this country. As simple as that." Tito Ian tells me.

Yes, I went to his office just to tell him about my father's decision.

"Don't just say 'as simple as that'!" I interjected. "It's not a simple matter!"

"Oh-ho. So what's making it difficult?"

"I can't leave Chance." I say silently.

"Heh? The Cain's only son, huh?"

"Yeah."

"And speaking of, I haven't seen him today."

"Yes," I answer, "he's out of school today, because of a business reason."

"I see." I hear him hums and says, "That child have gotten taller and mature. I remember the times that he was so young and frail. Ha-ha! That guy sure have guts right now."

"Wait. You'd met Chance before?" I question as I arch my head and gaze at him.

"Oh, yes." he replies, "Remember the times that your family was still living here. I think, you were seven that time."

"Right. I remember those."

"And in your family's forest, a house was built not far enough from your home. The one who owns that house was the Cain's."

"And then?" I utter. I'm curious, that's all.

"And then, one time, I was going to visit your manor. But I was out of luck and got lost." Tito Yan states in a happy manner. "On my way finding the manor, I stumbled on a simple house built on the forest. And there, I met Myrna—Chance's mom."

"Yes. I heard of her."

"So, I told her everything how I got to their house and met all her children. Marielle, Chance, and the new born baby Airelle."

"Whoah. That was an fateful event." I say in awe.

"Yeah, right." he responds, "After that, Myrna asked Marielle and Chance to guide me to your mansion—because they knew where it was. Marielle was the eldest and she acted really the big sister, while Chance was a shy and clumsy young boy, but cute."

"And I remember something. In my childhood, seeemed like I had seen that house. But I ignored it because I was too busy with my training."

"Aww, sayang naman iyon," Tito Ian laughs ludicrously. "And I also remember, you were a spoiled brat on your childhood, Natsu-chan! A child full of pride."

"Geh. Don't remind me those times."

"Alrighty~"

"Now we've talked about Myrna Lial, Tito, what happened to her?"

"About her death?"

I nod.

"You know the war between the White Nation and Black Society, correct?" He inquires and I nod again. "Will Nakajima pointed the location where you guys lived. But when he was about to attack the manor on the forest, your family had moved already to Japan."

"So?" That part is sort of strange. What's the connection?

"So they ceased the assault, and then detected a house was built near. The Black Society checked the house, suspecting that your family was only hiding there."

"In other words," I meddle between his statement. "The Black Society was the one who's responsible on that murder?"

"I'm afraid to tell you, but yes."

"But why?" I say enragely.

"That's the thing that I don't know, princess."

"I remember." I remark, clenching my jaw. "Chance's father said that he was a member of the Black Society, together with his wife."

"What a mind-blowing revelation, Natsumi." he says in a slow voice. "I can help you, just give me some time to investigate the case."

"Thanks, Tito."

"No biggie, Natsu-chan!" he answers, "Since I was acquainted with Myrna, I've got to give her death a justice."

"That's sweet," I chuckle.

"Really? I'm just doing my job as a lawyer, though."

"Whatever." I say, raising up from my seat. "I need to go."

"Sure. You want me to drive you home?"

"No, thanks." I reply with a grin, "Just wait for Shan."

"Oh. That sounds better." and he smiles. "Take care, Natsu-chan."

"Okay," I tell and I'm off.

I'm currently walking on the school grounds. Everything has gotten distorted.

Three families has been connected in the past, and the ties are still connected even in the present. What an ugly wired life. Full of loathesome, revenge, and lonely lives.

"When will I going to be free?" I mutter to myself.

I look above. "Are you listening?" I ask the heavens. "If you do, bring me out of this amusement of nightmare."

I sigh and fasten my pace on walking. I feel like I want to walk reach home today. I want to wind up my mind.

Reaching the main exit of the school, I start walking.

What a depressing day. My will to continue living is now crushed. I wish, I'm strong enough to end everything.

I sigh deeply and decided to remove all the thoughts on my mind. I continue walking. And currently, I'm on the sidewalk.

I'm about to cross the road when my phone starts ringing. I pick the phone inside of my pocket and then answer it.

"Yes?" I say.

"Hime!"

Oh, it's Nathan.

"It's me. Why?"

"Let's celebrate!" he declares cheerfully, "I've just got"

I didn't hear the half of it, because someone snatches phone!

"Holy shit!" I cussed loudly, "Give it back! Damn it!"

I have no choice but to chase the man and start dashing to the place where he ran off. Dang. So troublesome.

But, wait. I stop my tracks on the middle of the road.

I'm rich. I can buy an another phone. Meh. I let out a breath and turn around.

But that was a wrong move, because there's car coming to my direction.

My heart stops pounding for a moment as the car is continuously beeping loudly. And then my body acted its own.

I run fastly, matching the speed of the car. When the car is rightly in front of me, I concentrated strength to my feet and jump as highly as I can.

As to my instinct, my feet landed on the front of the car, and then quickly leap on the roof. As soon as my feet set on the roof, the car suddenly stops, causing my balance to go offset and fall on the concrete road.

"Fuckshit." I mutter, feeling all the hurt to my hip and waist.

"Hey, hey! Are you okay?"

And then there's a voice. In my peripheral view, he kneels beside me.

"Ah, yeah. I just hurt my butt." I say coolly. "No need to worry."

"Are you sure?" I nod. "Then why did you pull a stunt like that? Pwede mo namang iwasan ang sasakyan."

"Aha," I chuckle sheepishly, arching my head up. "Uhm, I'm just practicing my stunts skills. Y'see, I'm going to have an audition this weekend in an upcoming action movie." Obviously, that's a lie.

"Ah, I see." I look at the guy. And oh, my freaking gosh. I know him. I really do. "Can you stand?"

"A-Ah, y-yes." I stutter, staring stupefyingly at him. I try to stand up and feel my bum stings. I cuss on my mind.

"You don't look fine." says this guy. "Let me give you a ride." And in a swift move, the lad helps me to stand up, guiding me strongly.

"Am I not bothering you?" I question.

He chuckles, "You've bothered me already, Miss, since you jumped in front of my car."

I cringe inwardly. "I'm sorry."

"It's all right." He answers with a gentle smile. Slowly, he opens the car's door and lets me sit on the passenger seat. "Because it's rare to meet someone like you." He tells me and then goes to the driver's seat

This guy is a sweet-talker, but I can feel the sincerity and gentleness. Not like other men, 'yung mga mambobola type.

He starts driving as soon as I tell him the direction where I live.

"You're familiar." he states.

"Do I?" I chuckle.

"Perhaps. Not sure."

I only purse my lips. You. I know you very well. Because I'm the one who I destroyed the headlights and side mirrors of your car. That guy who was furiously mad that time.

"I'm Credell, by the way."

"Oh, Credell, I'm Miracle." I introduce. I hope you won't recognize me.

"Your name is beautiful, Miracle."

"Thanks." I reply, tucking my loosed end hair shyly.

And few more meters, we're slowly reaching our house. I don't want him to know my home.

"You can drop me near the tricycle terminal." I say.

"On that area?" he points the terminal on the corner.

"Yeah."

"Why? You don't want me to know your home?"

"Well, with all honesty, you're right."

"That's kinda blunt." I only grin, nzza1fot minding to answer back. "And if that's what you want, I'll respect your decision." Then Credell halts the car near the terminal.

I hop off, and I peer back to him. "Thanks for the lift, Credell."

"My pleasure, Miracle." he grins.

"So, I'll be off." I turn around as I sway my head sideways. "It's so nice meeting you again."

"Again?" He confusingly says.

I smile secretly. "Goodbye." I state and walk away.

Agad naman akong sumakay sa tricyle at sinabi ang direksyon papunta sa amin.

And after a while, I reached home. Finally.

I enter the house, and our butler addresses me. I return the respect and bow my head. Then I continue, walking around the lanai.

I yawn. I feels so sleepy and tired. Anyway, I want to sleep in our garden. I have a hammock there, I can take a nap.

"Hime!!"

I got surprised and felt myself shivered. I gaze where the voice came. And in just an instant, my facial expression slowly changes into grimace.

"Why are you here?" I say, making a disgusted face.

"I just got home, dang it!" Nathan says with pissed expression while marching to place where I'm standing.

"Oh." I utter expressionlessly. "Well, I guess, I should give you a welcome home greeting."

"Why so cold, Hime! You don't miss me?!" Nate grabs my wrist and starts dragging me to the garden.

"I think." I shrug, while letting him haul me.

"So mean." Nathan fakely wipes his tears.

"Nah. Cut the act already."

"Oh yeah, I remember!" He suddenly says loudly with an irritated voice. "Why did you shut my call, huh? I hate that action of yours, lady."

"I didn't. Someone snatched my phone."

"And you didn't chase that someone to get your phone back?" He exclaims. "I wanted to tell you to come home and we'll celebrate for my homecoming! But you did not!"

"Because it's too bothersome."

"And I was expecting the you'll be delighted when you discovered that I'm home already, but you're not!" Nathan protests.

"I'm sorry, then?"

"I don't need it." he curtly says.

"Fine." I say with an hmp.

"Gah. Ang nonsense mong kausap, Hime." he sighs. "Paano ka naka-uwi?"

"Lumipad ako."

I see Nathan lifted a side of his lips. "Dumbo." he utters and flicks the shell of my ear!

"That hurts!!" I scream and hold my ear.

"Huh," he scoffs, "Serves you right, dumbo."

"Argh! Who are you calling 'dumbo'?!"

"You, duh."

Ugh. He's pissing me. "I hate you." I only squeal and ran to him. And then I pound him a hug. Nathan can't take the force and we both fall on the grass ground.

"You could just tell me that you miss me, Hime. You made the conversation longer." Nathan says as he encircles his arms around me.

I close my eyes and remain silent. I am with you already since the day we were born, Nate. How can't I miss you?

Letting the warmth fills me, I reminisce. Many months have passed I'm not with him. And it's kinda lonely. Right now, I want to fill all my longings being far away from Nathan into this embrace.

"I heard that you and Chance are in a relationship." Out of the blue, he says.

"Yeah." I reply shyly.

I feel Nathan grins, "That guy is sneaky. Taking advantage of my absence." and scoffs. "Y'know, Hime, if I were here in PH, surely, I won't give you to him easily."

"Well, I'm now thankful that you were gone."

Nathan chuckles. "You little brat."

And then, in just a quick moment, a phone rings in the midst of us.

Soon I realize that it is my phone! Immediately, I rummage my bag (and I noticed that I still have my bag), looking for my phone.

"Hey! I thought your phone got snatched?" Nate whines.

I sit properly, the same as Nate. "It sure did. But I just remember that I have two smart phones."

Nate facepalm and I smile, answering the phone.

"Natsumi's talking." I speak.

"Good timing." A familiar the voice, it is Chance's.

"Glad you call," I say to him. "How are you?"

"I don't know." He answers in low and cold voice. Now what happened to him? "Can we meet? I have something to say."

"Uh . . . sure, then." I respond. "Where?'

"The playground."

I know that place. The place where we went when we cut class. "Copy that." Hanging the phone call, I reply.

Then I stand up.

"You'll meet Chance?" Nate asks and I nod while smiling like a school girl. "I envy him."

"Nah, don't be." I cheer him up, pinching his cheek. "I promise, when I got home, we'll celebrate. You want me to call Chance over?"

"Nope. I just want you and me. Well, we can invite Mom, Dad, and Kuya Mike also."

"Okay. Just us." I declare.

"Promise me."

"I promise, Nate."

"All right. Now go see Chance."

"Thank you, Nate!" I say happily, "I love you!" and kiss him on cheeks.

Later that day, I arrived on the place where Chance instructed me by driving a car. It's almost evening. From the horizon, the sky is turning to pastel orange, to pink, and purple. It's beautiful, equissential.

Not far enough, Chance is facing where the sun is setting, opposite from me. From what I see, something is bothering him, and it's not a good news.

I feel so perturbed. I want to go home, actually. But I need to face this, no matter what is it.

"Chance." I call in a low but firm voice.

He turns around slowly. "Hi."

"So what is it?"

"I think, you have an idea already."

"Yes, but I'm assuming that what I'm thinking is wrong."

"I'm afraid that you're correct." He answers and the wind blows. The atmosphere becomes dead.

I tilt my head. Coldness is coating me. "You're . . ." I utter in a silent whisper, "breaking up with me?"

"Yes," Chance answers without any hesitations.
