Wow. Another day again.
Boooooriiiiiinnnnggg ~
I sigh a long one. Then, I placed down my head to the desk and shift it to left side where the window is.
There, Chance is looking outside. His right hand is supporting his chin, while his elbow is resting on the table. His eyes are boringly watching everything under the bright sun. His face also, it is gleaming and sparkling because of the sunlight striking through the sliding window.
Nakatulala lang siya sa kawalan. Bored din siya? Like me.
Wait. Gleaming and sparkling? Edward Cullen? Heck? No, no, and no. Chance is far different from that Edward Cullen—who usually sparks like stars.
Stephanie Meyer describes Edward Cullen as a blameless person without any blemishes. He's not a human; he's a blood-sucking vampire that owns all the glory of perfection.
And Chance is not. He's just a complete human. If he's a perfect man, then he has no rights to be called a human.
I hear Nate whistles meaningfully. I quickly remove my eyes on Chance.
Nakita ako ni Nate. Ah, darn it.
"Hay . . . Ang boring nga naman." I hear Elli second in motion.
It is our second subject, wala ang Filipino teacher namin. Well, even if she's here, it'll be boring too.
"Malapit na pala ang School Fest natin, 'no? Hindi ko ramdam eh." Dinig kong sabi ni Ash.
"Oo nga. Kaya siguro wala si Ma'am Nailes." Elli replies to her.
"Excuse me po," narinig kong sabi ng isang unknown girl. "Pinapatawag po si Ate Natsumi at Kuya Chance sa principal's office." Magalang na sabi nito.
"Haa?" Nasabi ko lang, ano kaya ang gusto ng principal? Why me? Why him?
Tumingin ako kay Ancy. There, poker face.
"Tch." He utters while rolling his eyes sideways
"Tch." I mimick.
Tumayo na ako at gan'on din siya. Nauna siyang naglakad sa akin at sumunod lang ako. Nakalabas na kami sa room at nandoon pa ang unknown girl.
I turn my head to her direction. "Thank you." I mouth. She smiles—a real one—and then she leaves. She is a junior student, nakita ko sa name plate niya.
"Amp—!" I groan.
Nabangga ang mukha ko sa likod ni Chance noong pabalik na ang tingin ko sa harapan! "Aww." I painfully say in low voice. My nose, it's in pain.
"Tsk." He clicks his tongue and abruptly faces me. His face is just two inches apart and his brows are furrowed. Staring at me, he's inspecting every millimeters of my face.
My cheeks burned to light red and bow slightly. "I'm fine." I crook.
And as to my surprise, he pinches my nose!
"Aw!" I yelp in loud voice.
"Next time, tumingin ka sa dinadaanan mo." He scolds me while still pinching my nose.
"Ah, oo na!" Iyak ko, agad naman niyang binatawan ang ilong ko.
He grins at me, "You look so ugly."
"Shut up." I snap then start walking, leaving him.
I eyed him sideways and he's just looking in front. He briefly gazes at me with a bored expression, then averts it in front. Che.
We reach the principal's office as we enter the room. Inside, there's a mid-20's female that dressed so primly with her brown hair that bunned in classy-messy style.
"Why did you call us?" Chance addresses in a rough voice and immediately sits on the chair. ro0d.
"Right. Good morning too, Mister Cain." She says sarcastically sweet, then she faces me with a warm smile. "Have a seat, Miss Montero."
"Thanks." I politely reply and take my seat.
"What do you want?" Chance asks irritably.
"Mister Cain, do you mind if I teach you some manners?"
Whoah. This principal is a fierce one.
"Tch." He just hisses. Well, Chance's true nature is being cranky after all. I only remain silent, watching these two.
"Anyway," the principal states. "My purpose why I called you two, is because I want the both of you to organize our School Fest."
"Oh." I mutter, I cannot even pull a reaction. Seriously? Me? I don't have any idea on how organizing a School Fest. All I know is how to ruin and destroy everything.
"Why me?" Chance whines.
"May kasalanan ka pa, Mister Cain. Kung natatandaan mo. And this, serves as your punishment." The principal tells Chance; at the same time, I raise a brow. I get intrigued, bakit siya mayroong punishment?
Chance let out a deep breath as he stays silent, thinking. "Fine." and huffs, "Then, why her?" and questions, pertaining me.
She hums while grinning. "Well, Natsumi is smart and intelligent student. I know that both of you can do it." She says in lively voice. "Is that fine with you, Miss Montero?"
"Ah, yes, I can."After that compliment, how can I say no? Whatever. Well, I think I need to search on how to organize a School Fest.
"Okay then, end of discussion." The principal declares. "You'll start planning tomorrow; the SSC's will only guide the both of you. Furthermore, I'll excuse you two in all of your subjects and asked your advisers to give you a special treatment."
Wow. Special treatment, huh? Well, is that unfair? Nah. I think not. We'll probably lose our bloods preparing for this stuff. You know, organizing is not a joke. It's a pain in the ass.
Tumayo na si Chance at naunang lumabas. My inner thought folds her arms as she shakes her head while 'tsk-ing', looking at him.
"Don't mind my little brother, Miss Montero." She tells me, chuckling. "Laging masungit."
"Little brother?" I ask flabbergastedly.
Stupid, Miracle. Of course, she is his older sister! His family owns this University! What a nut.
"Yes, and Airelle told me a lot of things about you."
"Really? What did she tell you?"
"That you're pretty, like an angel." She answers. "You know, Nat, my little sister likes you so much."
I peal a soft laugh. "Thanks, Ma'am. Tell her that she's pretty, too."
"Surely." she concurs, "And the same goes with Ancy."
"What about Ancy?"
"That he likes you too."
"Eh?" I incredulously say as my face flusters in white. That is so sudden! I never expect her to tell me that.
"What's so surprising, huh?" A curve to her mouth lifts up. "You can't notice, Natsumi? He's into you. Usually, he's obnoxious the other girls and bullies them behind their backs."
"I know. That is the thing he's exactly doing to me."
"But still he gives you special attention. While others not."
I smile a bit. "Please don't jump into conclusions, Ma'am. Chance is just being friendly to me."
"I'm not with the conclusions, Miss Montero. I'm stating some hypotheses."
I only stare at her. Really, huh? A lot of people die due to hypotheses. She better takes some care.
"Anyway! Iniwan ka na ni Ancy, alis na." Taboy niya na lang sa akin.
"Right," I say and stand up, making my way out of the room.
Nakita ko si Chance sa hindi kalayuan, medyo mabagal ang paglalakad niya.
"Ancy, wait!" I yell, enough for him to hear me. I'm expecting him to wait for me, but he just waves his hand!
Sheesh. I mentally prick my scalp in irritation. Sighing, I chase after him.
"Ang sama mo," I say, huffing when I reach him. "Hindi mo man ako hinintay."
"Don't blame me. You're just a slowpoke." He replies boringly as he puts his hands at the back of his head and continues walking.
I shift my head sideways. What an arrogant jerk. My eyes automatically locked on him. He's now wearing a smirk.
"What's with that smirk?" I question barely, an eyebrow raised.
"You're making face, as if it suits you."
"Jerk." I return.
He grins, more like laughing on his mind.
"Do you find that amusing, Chance?"
He purses his lips and chuckles. "Yeah. I like how you make face, it's ugly."
"You're uglier," I deadpan. "Do I even look like a clown?"
"You're too cute to be a clown."
"Wow. Chance, have you eaten something bad?"
"I ate my breakfast this morning." He pulls a humorless joke.
"Funny," I snort. "Anyway, bakit mayroon kang punishment sa ate mo?"
"For bringing Airelle in our old house. The day when I saw you in the forest."
"Hmm." I hum while nodding. They had a house built nearby? I don't know. "That's all?"
"Yeah, because we just escaped that time," he answers. "We had an old home there and we just visited it. There was a class that time. Just for that, she punished me." and explains, I only purse my lips. "By the way, why you were there that time?"
Oops. How can I going to explain this? I simply gulp a huge lump that forms to my throat and a sweat drops on my head. "Well, uh, I . . . We—I mean ME . . . I also visited our old house there." I forced a smile.
He eyes me suspiciously. "Really? I just remember, I thought you had an accident and hit your head?"
"Oh, I had that accident when we came home." Obviously, I lied.
"And Nathan was also absent that time. And his excuse was they also visited their old home somewhere."
Okay, time to get serious. I put my chin up as I make my face innocent like I did nothing. "Huh? Nathan? Kaibigan mo siya, 'di ba?"
"Yeah, so?"
"Nothing."
He only nods. "Really? I would like to know, are you and Nathan knows each other?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Yeah. . ."
"Is he your lover?"
"What?!" I blurt. Nate? Me? Lovers? If I'm drinking something, I would like to choke.
I secretly clench my jaw. Chance is so observant. Gee. Since, he brings this topic up, I might as well play this game. I facepalm. "Of course, Nate and I are lovers." I answer him. "For you to know, Mister Cain, we are childhood lovers." I smirk as I gaze to Ancy.
He's just on his poker face, not showing any bothersome to his expression. "Okay, I see." he yawns and starts walking again. "But why does your nose is so red?"
An imaginary vein popped in my head, "Shuddup. Another question and I will kill you, Chance."
"Tch." He just hisses and he does not care about my 'oh-so-funny-and-hilarious' expression. Then, he walks fast. Iniwan niya ako . . . Ulit.
I remain standing here with my temper. Gah, this is infuriating!
I grit my teeth silently as I breathe out with a huffing sound and compose myself.
"Wait, you moron!" I yell in anger right in the middle of the hallway, he just ignore.
I will remind myself that I will always hate him.
I run fast towards Chance.
I'm about to reach him when . . .
"Ack!" napasigaw na lang ako nang napatid ako sa may maliit na bato.
Where in this damned school does that stone came from?!
Gosh, darn it! I'm actually falling!
But fortunately, sa likod ako ni Ancy nahulog at hindi sa sahig.
We both fall on the floor.
Masakit 'yun kapag nahulog ako sa
sahig. Buti na lang sa likod ni Ancy ako nahulog. Pero kawawa si Chance. He lands on the floor . . . face flat.
Ancy groans, "Get off." and says irritatedly.
"Sorry." I mutter an apology as I stand up from Ancy's back.
"What's that for?" he nearly yells in front of me when he stood up. "Aside from that, you're annoying."
I pout my lips a little. I know, it's my fault. But he doesn't have to yell right in front of my face. He even calls me 'annoying'. What a jerk, really.
"I hate you." I tell him.
"So you hate me now?" He asks in cold and arrogant voice.
I groan inside of my mind. What did I do? And why is he irritated with me?
"Huh," I scoff, "Yes, I hate you because I hate you."
"Oh, I see." He answers back with a prideful look. "Then let's hate each other."
"Sure. Let's hate each other, Ugly Ancy."
"Tch." He fizzes while turning his back. "Don't you dare to follow me." He remarks and he begins to walk away.
"Fine." I retort as I cross my arms, glaring at his back. "Stupid Chance, I hope you will have a very happy bad day."
A roll my eyes and blow my bangs upwardly.
And recently, I'm being a klutz. But in a positive way, I'm becoming someone that I have never experienced before.
I hate to admit, but I miss my old self.
