Kylee sat on the playground in her backyard, letting her feet hang as she leaned on the chain of the swing. Another boring day at school happened, and nothing seemed to lift her spirits. Taking a drink from her cup of ice water, she finally relaxed. Kylee felt ice surge through her veins. Smiling, Kylee laughed. 

"Kylee!" A cheerful voice sounded from behind the fence. 

Kylee waved back."Hey, Kai!"

Suddenly, another surge of ice came on her, stronger than any she had felt before. She fell down, letting the pain come on. And as soon as it came on, it was gone. Only then, did she realize that Kai watched the whole thing. 

"This can't be happening," Kylee muttered. "After keeping this discovery to myself forever, someone finally knows. This is a disaster! Everyone's going to think I'm crazy."

With a wild look, Kai's eyes stared at her. He jumped over the fence and pulled her underneath the playground's rock wall. His eyes pleaded her to be silent.

Thoughts and worries flew through Kylee's head. The black silence stretched on for an eternity. 

Then, an urgent "We need to talk." came from Kai, breaking the stillness. His eyes changed colors, turning into a blazing red. He lifted his hand, turning it just so, and then, brightly dancing on his palm, was a burning fire.
