Can's POV

When Tin's mom saw my mom looking all distressed after Tin asked me to marry him, she walked over to my mom and said, "I understand how you feel, my dear, but as your husband said earlier, since our sons genuinely love each other very much, let us just give them our wholehearted support.

"I can't give my son away!" my mom cried, "he is the only son I've got!"

"But, mom," I intervened, "you are not losing a son, you are gaining one."

"He is right, my dear, you know," Tin's mom backed me up. "It will be the same for me. I will not be losing Tin, I will be gaining Cantaloupe."

My mom was not entirely convinced. She looked at dad helplessly.

"Let's all go over to the couch and discuss our sons' future plans," my father said, guiding my mom by the elbow towards the couch. It was his way of telling mom that he had no objections to Tin marrying me.

Matt stood up from the couch and asked Tin and Mrs. Medthanan if he could take his leave.

"Of course," said Tin and his mom at the same time.

I offered to see Matt to the gate.

At the gate, I gave Matt a buddy hug.

"Thank you for taking good care of Tin and for helping him and me to resolve our misunderstanding. I'm really grateful," I said to him before opening the gate to let him through.

"No problem," said Matt, returning my buddy hug, "just be sure to invite me to the wedding."
