Chapter 2
Tin's POV
I glanced into my rear view mirror as I drove away. Can was standing exactly at the same spot where I left him. He stood there until I could not see him any more.
I had seen the confusion on his face and the hurt and sadness that came upon him as I took his hand away after he grabbed me, trying to make me understand that friendship was all he had to offer me at this time.
No, I can't be satisfied with just friendship with Can. I want to make him mine, exclusively mine. I don't want to share him with anybody else. I am a very possessive and jealous person. I will get violent towards any one who will try to take him away from me.
I banged my fist against the wheel of my car in frustration.
Why can't he feel the same way towards me? Why? Why? Why?
I almost hit the car in front of me. I had to focus on my driving. I had already entered the main freeway that was heavy with traffic. I don't want to get into any road accidents.
The feeling of rejection from Can was like a ragged arrow piercing through my heart. I could not stop the tears from clouding my eyes. My vision was starting to get blurry.
Suddenly I heard a loud crash and I felt my body almost getting ejected from my seat if not for the safety belt that I had on and the airbags that flew out from the front and sides of my car.
After that, I totally blacked out.
Can's POV
Good and I stepped out of our individual shower stalls in the sports department locker rooms at the same time.
We were the best of friends for many years now. We were comfortable being half naked with each other. We were like brothers.
"You wanna talk?" he asked me.
He instinctively knew that something was bothering me. He knew me too well. He was not my closest friend for nothing.
"Not yet," I said, "maybe later."
As I was putting on a fresh change of clothes, my phone started to ring. The ringtone indicated that it was Ae calling me.
I swiped my phone to take his call.
"Can!" Ae cried without waiting for me to say hello, "Pete told me just now that Tin is in the hospital! He got into an accident in the freeway!"
My knees started to buckle. I had to hold on to my locker for support.
"Which hospital was he taken to?" I asked almost in a whisper.
"Bangkok General," Ae replied. "You wanna come with Pete and me to see him?"
"Of course," I said, with a catch in my voice.
"Pete and I will wait for you in the parking lot," said Ae.
"Okay, thanks," I said.
When I turned around, Good was standing close to me. I placed my arms around him, laying my head on his shoulder, needing his comfort and sympathy. He hugged me tightly, knowing instinctively that I was in so much sorrow.
"Everything is going to be alright," he said, patting my back, as I finally let out the tears that I had been holding back.
