28 - ARE YOU TELLING ME TO LEAVE?

Song for the Chapter: YOU ARE THE ALMIGHTY GOD, by Nikos Politis

(Please, please, please, do listen at the end of the chapter, have been waiting for so long to add it. 🙂)

"Every atom in the universe is managed by Christ so as to be most to the advantage of the Christian."

-Jonathan Edwards

Giuseppe had never understood it when humans used the terms, "guilt" or "conscience". Because he had simply not been born nor raised with any.

Neither were words such as "love", "kindness", or "mercy" found in his dictionary either.

So as he girded himself with his most powerful cloak, and all he needed to make his sacrifice, he felt none of those feelings. His mind was clear, his goal as crystal before him.

He had never loved Ginevra or whatever being she said she carried within her. He felt no connection whatsoever.

This ought to be easy enough.

Secluded in his lair, he felt more than ready and determined.

That wench needs to be taken out of the way—at all costs.

"I want to be the first person to speak to her," Louise declared at Violet's hospital door in the Ospedale Reale(Royal Hospital). "I am her uncle and as every right has not been fully fulfilled, I remain the main authority over her."

Queen Giulia was ready to battle that proclamation. She was not going to easily give in.

She shared a glance with her elder son—who looked quite different to her, she couldn't put a finger on it and had little time to look into it—the signal was clear.

She was not going to let Violet be snatched away without a fight and neither was Vincenzo.

But, just as she got ready to speak up, an emergency came up. And her motherly heart crashed as she saw who the patient was.

Covered in blood from her waist down and screaming with deafening wails on a gurney was Ginevra.

~~

LORD, did YOU finally decide to take me Home to YOURSELF?

Were Violet's first thoughts as she slowly roused.

Am I going to open my eyes and see my SAVIOUR?

Slowly blinking awake, she found herself in an over-lit room, but sadly, it was not the HEAVEN she craved for.

Looking around the room with a slight headache, she did not find those she had hoped to see in the room she found herself in.

Have they given up on me, already?

"Violet," her older Uncle she had not seen in years smiled through his wrinkled face at her.

Seems like he has gotten more since I last saw him.

Her thoughts surprised her and she hoped she hadn't mistakenly said it out loud as she often did around...

No, she was not going to think about him. He is probably glad I am out of the way.

She found all her thoughts stuck in the mire of despondency.

"Is..." her voice sounded weak making her pause before continuing. "Is Isabella around?"

The thought of seeing her friend and sister caused hope to soar in her spirit.

"No," his gruff-aged voice responded. "They had certain matters to see to."

Hurt, Violet turned away from him in her hospital bed to look out the window.

Seems everyone has given up on me. LORD, why did YOU allow me to survive this only to be met with such disappointment? Her heart cried out in despair.

But, yet and again, her LORD was silent.

So as Louise Levine offered to take her back to live with him in the Villa she had shared with her parents and later with her brother, Violet agreed brokenheartedly.

Vincenzo knew he had to see Violet.

Would she recognise that he had finally surrendered his life to her SAVIOUR—no, their SAVIOUR? He wondered.

Despite seeing what his sister was going through, he was strongly tempted to see Violet first.

But, as he turned around to locate her hospital room, he felt a strong hand turn him around.

At first, he had felt alarmed thinking someone was behind him. But he found none the physical eyes could detect.

It was followed by a still small Voice—sweet and melodious.

"Stay and pray for your sister," the Voice, though soft, held an authority like no other.

So despite his desire to see his wife, he knew he had to obey. And he found himself spending the night in a deep and intense prayer that felt like he had run a marathon.

Strange, he thought. It felt like he had been fighting a battle.

"Now, pray for your wife as well."

It seems this journey YOU have called me to is a rather tasking one, Vincenzo thought, amused, but without any hesitation on his part.

He found himself praying all the way. There was going to be no rest for him that night.

~~

For some reason, Uncle Louise seemed to be in a hurry to return with Violet. He had ordered them to get her stuff ready before even going to speak with her, he had informed.

And that was okay by her. And the doctors had confirmed she was safe and alright, despite the slight tingle she felt in her head.

"She just needs to make sure to take it easy and have a re-examination from time to time."

So, as she left the hospital grounds and headed for the private airstrip that held the aircraft that was to convey her back home, she knew she was done with the Ferraris.

Indeed, some friends come into your life for a reason. Others only for a season.

~~

"Bene(Good)," Giuseppe poured the blood of the infant on the altar of sacrifice.

He could see through his spiritual monitoring system that his plans were working.

Violet's defences looked weak as she obediently followed her Uncle to the airstrip.

"You are finally obeying what I say, little girl. You now know where the real power lies."

~~~
Climbing aboard the aircraft, she felt a weight of deep sorrow overtake her. But, she knew there was no going back.
I guess this is where the story ends—
"Mayday! Mayday!"
The hails from the cockpit soon grew louder and louder as the pilots got out of the aircraft to meet with ground control.
"There is a serious problem with the engine."
Violet felt discombobulated at the sound of the alarm.
Uncle Louise soon rejoined her and explained some technical terms unfamiliar to her.
Failure with Navigation and Communication Systems, Mechanical Failures, Hydraulic Failures... and the list went on.
Rising from her seat, she went forward to investigate. And that was when she saw the blinding light.
It seemed she was not done with the Ferraris yet.
Even as she beheld the Angel standing right in front of the aircraft, strong arms folded, she could feel the powerful force radiating.
And, he was not alone. Valiant warriors of the HEAVENLY Armies surrounded the aircraft on every side as she turned to look around.
It was clearer than crystal.
She was going nowhere. And... her SAVIOUR was not done with her yet.
