Synopsis.
Morpheus, Dream of the Endless, the Lord of Dreams and Nightmares is known to be insensitive, self-obsessed, humorless, cold and blind to his flaws.
That is when he meets a woman. A mortal princess at that. Her name is Ravenna.
She is unique in his eyes in all the way. No imperfections. Her voice is a lullaby to his ears. Her beauty is never matched to any living out there. Her touch is the most desirable of them all. Her soul is the most purest.
He finds himself not hesitating at performing one of the forbidden rules of the Endless. A beautiful crime at that. Falling in love with a mortal.
But there is a reason for the above to be a forbidden for the Endless. It always ends with the downfall of the mortal or worse.
And finally, the cost to be paid for is higher than their committed sin. She is being cursed by a group of witches. If he intervene in her life in any way and she catches feelings for him, she dies in one way or another. Then, reborn with no memory of their past, only to repeat the same cycle of tragedy.
At first, he ignores the consequences and continues to fight against the destiny of their forbidden love, only to end up helplessly holding her lifeless body in his arms, shredding tears with a heart full of agony.
It is all for the sin of falling in love with a mortal. That is how he gives up. He is done. There is no energy for him to go through the same cycle anymore. That is why he decides to stay away, all in the name of love. To give her the opportunity for her to live. To thrive her mortal life.
That is when his older brother, Destiny decides to grant him a glimpse of hope. A chance to hold his lovely Ravenna in his arms again and love her with all he can without a cruel ending.
