*Why? Why did you leave me?*

"What are you doing here?" asked Henry looking at the father he hadn't seen in 10 days.

"Cisco sent me here as soon as he lost contact with you. He said that you needed help," responded Barry out of breath.

"I don't need your help," gritted out Henry not wanting his father's help after he left.

"Henry," sighed Barry. "Can we please talk about this after the mission," pleaded Barry looking at his son.

"Fine," Henry sighs choosing to keep his personal life and work life separate. "But this isn't over," Henry continues pointing an accusing finger at Barry who only raised his arms in defense. Walking past Henry, Barry injected a USB drive into the computer.

"Is that Uncle Cisco's decryption key?" asked Henry following after him.

"Yup," said Barry taking a seat on the desk chair.

"What are you doing?" asked Henry standing behind his father.

"I'm trying to find what this place is," said Barry typing frantically on the computer.

Looking around the room Henry noticed a weird looking bottle. "Oxandrolone," read Henry. "I've never heard of using anabolic steroids to make cocaine," mumbled Henry to himself.

Hearing the name of the steroid Barry froze in his spot. "Whoever owns this facility is synthesizing a drug. Just not the one your thinking," said Barry, Henry raises an eyebrow at him. Typing on the computer, Barry looked for something that could help him. He remembered hearing the name of that steroid somewhere before.

"Got it," Barry called retrieving an encrypted file.

"What is it?" asked Henry looking at the screen.

"It's a deleted file from Star Labs," said Barry opening up the file.

"Oh my god," breathed out Barry looking at the screen. "This person's trying to recreate V9," whispered Barry in disbelief.

"V9," repeated Henry. "What the hell is a V9?" asked Henry looking at his father.

"V9 also known as velocity 9 is a speed enhance drug your mother created," replied Barry. "It's supposed to give the user access to the speed force or increase your speed. But it's very dangerous. It slowly degrades the user on a cellular level, killing them," explained Barry.

"But it's not supposed to be here anymore," said Barry shaking his head. "Your mother and I made sure we got rid of it," said Barry looking at the screen confused.

"Who would want to recreate V9?" wondered Henry looking at the monitor.

"I'm glad you asked," said a deep voice coming from behind them. Turning around towards the voice, Barry and Henry were immediately shot with a metahuman damping cuff that attached itself to their wrist.

"And I was very close," said the person walking into the room with his goons behind him.

Despite not having his speed Barry walked towards the person with Henry following slowly behind him.

"Barry Allen, also known as The Flash," said the mysterious man meeting Barry in the middle. "It's been too long," said the man looking at Barry as Henry looked between the pair trying to figure out who this guy was.

"And is this Baby Flash," said the man eyeing Henry who stood behind his father. "All grown up and following in his daddy's footsteps. Like father, like son. How cute," taunted the man walking towards Henry.

"You know. You probably don't remember me. You were just a kid when we met," said the man standing in front of Henry looking him directly in the eyes.

"But, something tells me your gonna remember me now," said the man flashing away only to return in a white super suit.

Seeing the speedster standing in front of him Henry's breathing started to accelerate. Taking a step back, Henry's mind was taken back to the past as he remembered what Godspeed did to him when he was just a kid.

"Leave him alone August," gritted out Barry protectively.

Backing away from Henry, Godspeed turned towards Barry. "You know, I think you might be slipping in your old age, Flash. I've been waiting on you for hours," said August looking at Barry.

"Waiting?" questioned Barry.

"Oh come on Flash. The compound, the gang, the stolen truck. What? You thought you followed a bunch of clues to get here?" chuckled August. "I left them for you. So you would come here. Which was all apart of my grand plan," explained August.

"He wants you to finish the drug," said Henry realization dawning on him.

"He's got your smarts, Barry. You should be proud," said August pointing at Henry.

"You see the V9 I have created still got some kinks to iron out. But now that I have you back in the lab, I can finally perfect the serum," smiled August removing his mask.

"And you think I'm going to make it for you," laughed Barry in his face. "I know nothing about this drug which means I can't help you," smirked Barry behind his mask.

Staring him down August looked into Barry's eyes to see if he was lying. "Ordinarily, I'd believe you. But in this case," said August taking a step towards him. "I'm calling your bluff," said August wiping Barry's smirk off his face.

"You're gonna make the drug for me," said August standing in front of Barry's face.

"Or," said August flashing behind Henry, wrapping an arm around his neck while vibrating his other hand in the air.

"I'm gonna kill your boy, right in front of you," smiled August wickedly causing Barry to tense up.

"Fine," sighed Barry. "I'll do it," said Barry giving in.

Smiling, August had one of his goons take Henry away as he brought Barry to the lab.

---------------------------------------------

Adjusting Barry's cuff August made sure that he had one on each arm, allowing him to freely work. Pushing open some doors, August led Barry to the lab.

"Look at the two of us. Working together like nothing's changed," smiled August. "Well, maybe not everything," smirked August as Barry looked around the lab.

"Everything you need to finish it should be in here," informed August as his phone started going off. Looking down at his phone August noted that Vibe and Elongated Man were causing havoc outside his warehouse. Groaning in annoyance, August slipped his phone away.

"Looks like your friends have come to join the party. Guess I gotta go teach them a lesson," said August strapping on his mask.

"Well if you want me to finish this serum fast, I'm going to need an extra set of hands," said Barry taking a step towards August. "And since your gonna be out on the field there is only one person in this building who has a solid understanding of organic chemistry," smirked Barry looking at August making him sigh.

"Bring in Baby Flash," commanded August as his goons brought Henry in adjusting his cuffs so that it was like Barry's.

"This drug better work or you bury your son tonight," threatened August looking at Barry. Turning around, August turned his attention towards Henry.

"Honestly, kid. I don't even know what you're doing here," said August making his way towards Henry. "What, you think you're gonna patch things up with Dad? Go play catch?" questioned August.

"Come on," sighed August standing in front of him. "If you were my son I never would have abandoned you," said August looking at Henry in the eye.

"But when this hero here, left you behind," said August pointing at Barry. "He never hesitated. He never looked back. He chose to leave you and acted like you never even existed," said August trying to make Henry feel hurt.

"I bet he probably never even thought about you," chuckled August. "You know, he never even mentioned your name while we were working together. Not once," confessed August making Barry clench his jaw in anger.

Looking back at Barry, August turned towards his goons. "Watch them," commanded August as he flashed out of the room.

"So," said Barry looking at his son awkwardly. "Shall we get to work?" said Barry walking towards the many beakers and test tubes.

--------------------------------------------

Walking slowly, Henry made his way towards his father that was surrounded by many different lab equipments.

"I'm not helping to make this stuff. Even if it's the only way to save my life," whispered Henry so the 5 goons watching them wouldn't hear them.

"Son," said Barry looking up at him as he mixed some chemicals. "I have no intention of making this stuff in order to save your life," said Barry looking at Henry.

"Gee, thanks, Dad," replied Henry sarcastically.

"Don't be so sensitive," commented Barry. "I worked with August for 5 years, and trust me, he's gonna kill you whether we complete this drug or not," said Barry setting down a beaker.

"Now, do you remember that little explosion I made while I was practicing for your third-grade science fair?" asked Barry trying to jog his memory.

"Yeah," smirked Henry at the thought of it.

"You think you could help me recreate it?" asked Barry as Henry nodded his head getting to work.

----------------------------------------------

Marching around the room with their guns attached to their backs, the 5 goons kept an eye on Henry and Barry as they worked. Seeing that 10 minutes have already passed, one of the goons made his way over towards them.

"You have everything you need. What's taking you so long?" complained the goon irritated.

"Well, it takes a while for the chemical reaction," explained Barry. "See," said Barry using a dropper to drop a pinch of a solution into the flask before holding it up to the goon's face.

Bending down, the goon looked at the solution only to be blinded by an explosion of white light. Covering his eyes, the goon shrieked in pain.

Seeing the commotion, a female goon ran to try and help her friend. Seeing her coming Henry, pulled out the electrical wire from the magnetic stirrer, tasering her in the neck.

The third goon ran at Barry trying to swing a punch at him only for him to sidestep. Grabbing the goon, Barry wrapped his arm around her neck choking her until she passed out.

Grabbing a broad metal rod from the metal table, Henry swung it at the fourth goon knocking the gun out of his hand. Swinging it back around, Henry hit the goon in the head knocking him out.

The fifth goon who was the smartest out of all of them decided to make a run for it, but not before throwing two bombs and locking the door. The two bombs exploded creating a fire to break out. Henry coughed as he waved his hand in the air trying to get rid of the smoke. Running over towards the door, Barry tried to get it to open with no avail.

"Check the window," commanded Barry coughing. Following his father's orders, Henry tried to get the window to open but it wouldn't budge. Taking a brick nearby, Henry tossed it at the window trying to break the glass, but the brick only bounced back.

"It's bulletproof," sighed Henry running a hand through his light brown hair. "Okay," coughed Henry, "with the way things are going, I don't think we'll have time for that father-son chat," said Henry.

"So I just have one question," said Henry turning around to face his father. "Why?" asked Henry staring into his sea green eyes, "Why did you leave me?".

"I already told you why," sighed Barry since he did it to protect him.

"No, no," said Henry shaking his head. "If you wanted to protect me from the dangers of this life, then why did you bring me into it?" asked Henry looking at his father.

"Because even though I knew it wasn't safe for you to be near me, I-I couldn't let you go," responded Barry thinking about the times they fought the bad guys together. "At least this way I could be with you, watching over you," stated Barry who had been watching Henry since he left.

"Dad, you weren't with me, you left me," said Henry looking at him. "You left me, and you know what, if you wanted to, you could have taken me with you. You could have protected me from anyone," Henry raised his voice trying to get his father to see his point of view.

"It was me, it was me I was trying to protect you from!" yelled Barry walking over towards his son. "Your mother being in a coma changed me," said Barry looking at him with tears in his eyes. "It made me so angry, all the time," emphasized Barry. "I did-- I didn't know how to relate to you anymore," said Barry looking into his son's blue-green eyes.

"You were such a brilliant kid," smiled Barry as Henry looked into the distance. "You reminded me so much of her, and every time I looked at you, I saw her," said Barry making Henry take a step back in hurt. "And then I'd get angry all over again," ended Barry.

"Oh, I get it, so this is my fault then," said Henry with tears in his eyes, realizing that he was the reason his father left.

"No!" interrupted Barry. "No, no, no," said Barry taking a step towards Henry trying to comfort him.

"You know, cause I lost her, too," said Henry pushing his father back. "She was my mom! I'm just a kid and I needed my father and you weren't THERE!!" yelled Henry with tears streaming down his face.

[I GOT THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS CHAPTER FROM THE SHOW 'MACGYVER'. IF U HAVE NEVER SEEN IT I RECOMMEND U CHECK IT OUT IT'S REALLLY GOOD]

"You weren't," whispered Henry broken. Looking at his son Barry saw how much leaving the Team broke Henry.

"Henry-" began Barry before they were interrupted by a van ramming into the side of the warehouse building.

Turning around, Barry and Henry looked at the van as the driver rolled down the window to reveal Ralph. Resting his arm on the edge of the window Ralph looked at the two speedsters.

"Get in losers we're going shopping," exclaimed Ralph quoting Mean Girls.

"Seriously Ralph," said Barry seeing as he had interrupted their moment.

"You guys are lifesavers," said Henry wiping away his tears and any evidence that he was crying.

"Yup. That's who we are. Elongated Man and Vibe here to save the day," smiled Cisco as Henry and Barry walked towards the van.

"You alright kid," asked Cisco looking at Henry concerned.

"I'm fine," said Henry faking a smile. Getting into the van, Henry made his way towards the front seat with Ralph, making sure he sat as far away as he could from Barry. Sighing Barry took a seat next to Cisco as they drove in silence.
