CAITLIN'S APARTMENT

Henry Dream P.O.V.

Henry entered his mother's apartment to see it as he had left it. "Mom," called out Henry walking through the apartment.

Hearing a gust of wind coming from behind him, Henry turned around with a smile on his face, thinking it was his father. His smile immediately dropped once he saw who the person was behind him. It was Nora, who was holding Caitlin up against her by the neck.

"No," breathed out Henry looking at Nora in shock. "This cannot be happening," replied Henry shaking his head back and forth wondering how she got out of the cuffs.

"Oh believe it, Henry," said Nora looking at him in the eyes. "It's happening," assured Nora pulling Caitlin by the throat.

"Please Nora," pleaded Henry taking a step towards her. "Don't do this," said Henry taking another step.

"It's poetic returning here to this time, just to watch your mother die all over again," said Nora looking at Henry with an evil smile on her face.

"Please Nora, I'm begging you. Don't do this, ok. Take me! Kill me!!" shouted Henry not wanting her to kill his mother.

"No!" cried Caitlin in Nora's arm.

"You're going to feel the same pain I felt when my mother died," said Nora lost in thoughts as she looked at Henry.

"Please Nora, please," pleaded Henry shaking his head back and forth with tears in his eyes.

"Henry, look at me son, look at me," replied Caitlin in Nora's arm.

"I'm going to take away your mother, just like I did in the future," replied Nora viciously.

"Whatever happens. Just know that I love you, my beautiful boy," replied Caitlin ignoring Nora as tears streaming down her face.

"Mom," said Henry with his voice cracking at the end.

"You're going to watch as your mother dies all over again," yelled Nora lost in thoughts.

"No, no!" replied Henry shaking his head not wanting to witness this happening again.

"And this time, I'm going to make sure she actually dies," said Nora smiling evilly as she pulled away to stand behind Caitlin aiming for her heart.

"You will always be my her-," said Caitlin looking at Henry in the eye.

"Nora!!" yelled Henry watching as Nora raised her vibrating hand up in the air. Watching in slow motion, Henry watched as Nora's hand inched closer towards Caitlin's heart. Trying to run towards them Henry found himself frozen in his spot.

Standing where he was, Henry watched in horror as Nora shoved a vibrating hand through his mother's chest, straight through her heart.

"Noooooooooo!" screamed Henry at the top of his lungs as tears streamed down his face............

"Nooo!" screamed Henry in his sleep.

Waking up to someone screaming, Caitlin sat straight up in her bed.

"Nooo!" repeated the voice sounding so broken.

"Henry," breathed out Caitlin recognizing the voice. Grabbing her robe by the chair, Caitlin rushed out of her room.

...."Mom," said Henry watching as his mother's limp body fell to the ground.

"Mom," cried Henry running towards his mother's body moving a piece of hair out of her face.

"Hey, hey, hey! Look at me, look at me," said Henry caressing his mother's face as tears streamed down his own face.

"Mom! Don't leave, please. Not again, not again," pleaded Henry as Caitlin closed her eyes.

"MOM! Come on, come on, come on," cried Henry as Nora watched with a satisfied smile on her face...........

"Henry," replied Caitlin watching from her doorway as Henry tossed and turned on the couch.

"No," cried Henry tossing and turning in his sleep.

Panicking, Caitlin made her way towards her son.

"Come on, come on," repeated Henry crying and sweating in his sleep.

"Henry," pleaded Caitlin looking at her son. "Sweetheart. Wake up. It's just a dream," said Caitlin caressing her son's face trying to wake him up.

........."Hey, it's alright. No......Mom," said Henry with his voice cracking at the end as he felt no pulse. Gripping onto his mother's lifeless body Henry cried his eyes out trying to get her to wake up, with no luck. Touching the side of her face, Henry felt as the life drained out of it.

"No, mom," said Henry crying as he touched her arm...........

"No," cried Henry in his sleep beginning to shake.

"Henry!" replied Caitlin starting to panic trying to shake him awake. "Wake up. It's just a dream," said Caitlin shaking him even harder.

....."I told you, I'd make you suffer," replied Nora looking at the broken Henry.

"You feel the pain don't you Henry," said Nora as Henry looked at her with tears streaming down his face.

"And now the two of us are the same," said Nora smiling wickedly.

Breathing heavily Henry stared at Nora with tears falling down his face.

"Nooooo!!!!" screamed Henry........

Shaking him even harder Henry opened his eyes.

"Henry," breathed out Caitlin looking at her son in relief. Looking down, Caitlin noticed that Henry's eyes were glossed over, like he wasn't fully awake.

"Henry?" repeated Caitlin looking at her son as his eyes began to course with the familiar blue lighting. Before she could even blink, Henry had pinned her up against the wall holding her by the neck.

.......charging at Nora at super speed, Henry pinned her up against the wall by the neck........

"Henry," replied Caitlin shocked by his action.

Pinning who he thought was Nora, Henry strengthened his grip around her neck.

....."There you go, Henry," taunted Nora in his face. "Use your anger. Just, like, I did," said Nora smiling wickedly............................

"Henry," choked out Caitlin in the arms of her son as his grip on her tightened.

Hearing the sound of his mother's voice, Henry began to blink his eyes rapidly. Waking up fully, Henry stared at the person who he thought was Nora, to see his mother.

"Henry," replied Caitlin tapping on his arms feeling her airway passage closing.

Dropping her in shock, Henry took some steps back away from his mother. Lying on the floor, Caitlin began to cough, gasping for air as she took in deep breaths. Calming her breathing, Caitlin looked up at her son to see him looking at her mortified.

"Henry," replied Caitlin standing up.

"No," replied Henry shaking his head back and forth taking a step back. "Stay back. I could hurt you," said Henry with his voice cracking at the end.

"Henry," replied Caitlin taking a step towards her son. "I'm fine, ok," said Caitlin reassuring him. "It was just an accident," replied Caitlin taking another step towards Henry as he took a step back.

"No, no it's not fine," replied Henry shaking his head back and forth. "I could have hurt you!" screamed Henry as tears began to stream down his face.

Looking at her son, Caitlin saw how hard this had affected him. He looked so broken thinking that he could have hurt her.

"Henry," replied Caitlin trying to comfort him.

"No," said Henry looking at the floor, breathing heavily. "I-I have to go," stuttered Henry looking up at his mother before he was gone in a flash.

"Henry!!" called out Caitlin talking to the gust of wind that he left back in his wake. Sighing, Caitlin sat down on the couch putting her head in her hand. She knew that Henry never meant to hurt her. He was still half asleep when it had happened.

Leaning back against the couch, Caitlin glanced at the time to see it was 2:10 am. Sitting down, Caitlin began to wait for Henry to return home.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Central city, Henry skidded to a stop as he braced his back against a door breathing in heavily.

What did I do, thought Henry as he put his hands on his face crying his eyes out.

8: 00 am

It was 8 am and Henry had not returned home yet. Yawning, Caitlin's phone began to ring. Running into her room Caitlin grabbed her phone hoping to see Henry's name flashing on the screen. Her smile slowly faded when she saw Harry's name flashing on the screen. Picking up the phone Caitlin answered the call.

"Hello," replied Caitlin tiredly. She had been up since 2 in the morning waiting for Henry.

"Snow, we need you down by the lab," said Harry through the phone.

"Ok, I'm on my way," replied Caitlin hanging up. Sighing, Caitlin began to start her day. Maybe Henry's at the lab, thought Caitlin getting dressed.

STAR LABS

8:45 am

Arriving at Star Labs, Caitlin walked into the Cortex to see Barry, Cisco, Joe, Harry, Ralph, Iris, and Nora.

"Hey, guys," replied Caitlin walking towards them.

"Snow," replied Harry turning around, "Thank god you're here."

"What's up?" replied Catlin setting her purse down as she took a sip of her coffee she got from Jitters.

"We need you to analyze this blood sample we got off of our latest meta," replied Harry as Barry took a step forward towards her.

"Here is what I could get off of our meta from the crime scene," said Barry holding up a bag containing the sample. Taking the bag, Caitlin looked a the sample examining it with her eyes.

"The crime scene was very brutal. I'm surprised we even got a sample," commented Joe cringing in disgust.

"Well, I'll see what I can find off of it," replied Caitlin holding the sample.

"Thanks, Cait," replied Barry smiling at her.

Nodding her head Caitlin began to make her way towards her lab.

9:30 am

Caitlin sat down on a chair waiting patiently for the analysis on the test. Her mind began to slowly drift off to this morning. She was worried about Henry. She knew he didn't mean to hurt her. It was an accident, yet he still looked so heartbroken thinking he could have hurt her.

Looking around Caitlin tried to clear her head. She saw Cisco laughing at a joke Ralph was telling. Harry and Joe were discussing some way to take down the meta, while Barry was talking to Iris in the Cortex.

Hearing footsteps approaching her lab, Caitlin turned around to see Nora.

"What do you want, Nora?" asked Caitlin annoyed.

"Wow," said Nora throwing her hands up in the air in defense. "Someone grew some balls," smirked Nora as Caitlin stood up.

"What do you want from me Nora?" spat Caitlin looking at her angrily. She was tired of cowering over, while Nora walked freely.

"I would watch that tone if I were you," warned Nora looking at her.

"Or what?" replied Caitlin taking a step towards her feeling bold. "You can't hurt me. You don't have your speed," said Caitlin as Nora gritted her teeth.

"There are other ways I could hurt you, Katie," replied Nora looking at Caitlin in the eyes.

"Where is Henry, by the way," asked Nora changing the subject as she looked around the room for her brother. Watching Caitlin, Nora noticed the frown on her face.

"Awwh," replied Nora faking her concern. "Did I hit a nerve?" asked Nora looking at Caitlin.

"If that is what you came here for," said Caitlin taking a step towards Nora. "Then I suggest you leave," said Caitlin glaring at her.

Smiling at her Nora looked at Caitlin in the eye. "I just came to tell you that Henry cannot protect you forever," said Nora making Caitlin scrunch her eyebrow in confusion.

Turning around Nora looked at her parents. "Look at them," gestured Nora to Barry and Iris who were laughing. "They're so happy. So in love," said Nora looking at her parents. "Dad has always been in love with mom since they were little. From the moment he woke up from the coma he was pining over mom. She was his first love. Something,...you can never be," said Nora looking at Caitlin.

"He will never love you," said Nora looking at Caitlin wanting to hurt her.

"If that was possible, then we wouldn't have had Henry," replied Caitlin looking at Nora.

"You can never have what they have," said Nora glaring at Caitlin. "Iris is the love of his life," said Nora pointing towards them making Caitlin's heartbreak as Barry smiled widely at Iris.

"She will always be the love of his life," replied Nora looking at Caitlin. "If it was down to your life and her's, who do you think he'll choose?" asked Nora looking at Caitlin making her look down knowing Barry would choose Iris any day over her (ehm, killer frost season 3).

"Face it, Caitlin. You will always just be...second best," said Nora walking out of her lab, leaving Caitlin lost in thoughts.

Was Nora right? Would Barry ever see her as more than a friend? Would he ever love her? Would he choose Iris over her? Was she always going to just be...second best? thought Caitlin lost in thoughts before a gust of wind interrupted her.

Turning around Caitlin was meet with her son in his super suit. Looking up at him, Caitlin noticed the bags under his eyes and the teardrop stain on his face.

"Can we talk?" asked Henry voice hoarse.

"Yeah, yeah," replied Caitlin standing up and closing the door to allow them some privacy.

"I wanted to apologize to you. For leaving you like that," replied Henry turning around to face his mother. "I-I just," stuttered Henry looking down at the floor before looking back up at his mother. "I couldn't stand the thought of being in the same room as you. Especially after I almost tried to hurt you," said Henry looking at Caitlin with tears in his eyes.

Taking the last remaining steps towards her son, Caitlin placed her hands on either side of Henry's shoulder. "Henry," said Caitlin lifting his chin up so that he could look at her in the eye. "I'm fine," said Caitlin assuring her son as he broke down into tears engulfing her into a hug.

Clutching onto her tightly Henry cried his eyes out onto her shoulder. He couldn't believe what he had done. His nightmares were getting worse and worse by the minute. "I'm sorry," muffled Henry into her shoulder. "I'm so sorry," repeated Henry crying onto her shoulder as Caitlin ran a soothing hand down his back.

"It's ok," assured Caitlin. "I know you wouldn't hurt me. It was just an accident," replied Caitlin. Taking in deep breaths, Henry tried to control himself. Calming down, Henry relaxed in the arms of his mother.

"I love you mom," Henry whispered to his mother for the first time.

"I love you too, Henry," replied Caitlin smiling.

A couple of minutes later, the mother and son pulled away from their hug. Drying his eyes with his suit sleeve, Henry looked up at his mother smiling at her. Suddenly Henry's futuristic tech bracelet started going off.

"I better get back to my mission," replied Henry strapping on his mask.

"Yeah," replied Caitlin shaking her head in understanding.

"I'll see you later," said Henry kissing her cheek. "I love you," said Henry running a few away at super speed.

"I love you too," replied Caitlin causing Henry to smile widely as he ran faster.

HENRY WAS SO BROKEN THINKING HE COULD HAVE HURT CAITLIN.
