Chapter 19

"I wasn't entirely truthful with you, Yukai." I confessed.

"What do you mean?" Yukai asked confused.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out some pages of a book that I had. They were all crumbled up but the words were still clear. I handed Yukai the papers through the bars and he reached out for them.

"I think you should read this. It's from my father. He wrote a journal and this might be crucial information that you have to know." I said with nervous, deep and quick breaths.

"What is this?" Yukai asked.

"That is my family's bloodline. Close to the center, you can see my grandparents. Under that level, you can see my parents." I started.

"Yeah. And in the very base, you're there. What does that have to do with my family?" Yukai asked.

I chuckled and asked him to give me the page. Once in my hands, I grew out my werewolf claws and started to rip a separate piece of paper that was covering another picture.

"That's you." I said as I pointed at the newly revealed photograph.

"Wait. Are you saying that we're brothers?!" Yukai asked in shock.

"Yes. Although something happened that split us from each other. I believe that it happened when we were born." I answered.

"This is way too much to handle." He sighed.

"If you want, you can read my father's entries. He's been writing this since We were born." I reassured.

"I'll read it out loud so you can hear his words." Yukai said with his hands trembling as he tried to read the papers.

"I, Yagaru Tsukishiro , the king of this domain, ordered to look for a maid that could help with the birth of my two sons. I have the best doctors that I could find in such short notice and they were anxiously waiting for the first born child. Once he was born, they made some tests and he was born as a healthy hybrid. According to the doctors, all of his hybrid genes were in top shape. I was overwhelmed with joy at the sight of my first born. I named him Naku Tsukishiro, the new heir to my throne. The second one was born a couple of minutes later. The doctors checked his genes but unfortunately, he was born as a human. The doctors said that he had all of the right chromosomes and that he should've been a hybrid like his brother. I was worried that my second born wouldn't be as skilled as his brother. I had named him Yukai Tsukishiro and the doctors said that he might become a hybrid later on. Knowing that this world would be too dangerous for Yukai, I left him in the caring hands of my old, loyal and closest friend of mine." Yukai started to read.

I was shocked at the many events that had happened in just one day. We both shuddered at the thought of what had happened years ago. Without a second thought, Yukai had decided to continue reading out loud.

"Years had passed and Naku has grown to become a wise and handsome young prince. I only wish he could go to the human world and find his brother. I should tell him that he has a brother since he was unaware of this during the past fourteen years of his life. I told him that he had to take an exam to see how skilled he was and, to my surprise, he passed his entrance exam. The Dark Ruler said that we have until Naku's coronation to bring back Yukai as a full fledged hybrid. Naku has about two years to make it before the deadline. I wish him the best of luck on his journey. A year has already passed and Naku hasn't come back with Yukai. I feared that something went wrong so I sent his protectors after him. Months have passed and I received a message from Riuyo. Naku had found Yukai and was headed home. The news had spread throughout the castle grounds and we were anxiously waiting for what was about to unfold." Yukai had finished.

"That's our father for you. A complete, over dramatic, narcissistic, egocentric, fancy living person." I joked.

"I never knew I had a brother. I didn't even know that I was royalty." Yukai said in an astonished voice.

"I'm not going to force you to become a hybrid, but this world can get too dangerous for a human. Even if he's a well trained sniper." I warned.

"I would like to be a hybrid. First, I'll think about it and let you know. Right now, I want to let this sudden burst of information set in. If you see that I need to become a hybrid, then it's ok to turn me into one. The deal can get broken if you see that I'm not going to survive in battle. So, if I'm seriously injured, don't hesitate to do so." Yukai smiled.

We put away the papers and waited for the others to come and rescue us. A couple of explosions and crashes were heard in the distance but they seemed to take an eternity.

"Yukai, I'm tired of waiting. I'm going to try a forbidden spell. I need you to hold my hands through the bars and, if the gates blast open, then we go and fight against the Dark Ruler." I planned.

"Fine by me. I just want him to feel payback for throwing me in here." Yukai chuckled evilly.

I opened a Necrocircle and remembered my first days of fire spell training. I took into consideration the warning that my instructor had given me and completely ignored them. After saying the spell as many times as possible, the Necrocircle overheated and Yukai's gate blasted open.

"What was that?!" Yukai freaked out.

"That, my dear little bro, is the complete ignorance of every magic rule that I learned in a couple of days." I lectured.

"Only my gate blew open. Yours got busted." Yukai frowned.

"Just go! I'll catch up. As long as you stall him for a while, I'll be right behind you." I brushed off.

"I'm not leaving without my brother." Yukai raged and kicked my gate down.

"Guys!" Riuyo cheered.

"We found them!" Shibaki yelled and everyone quickly ran towards us.

"Let's go home. We have to prepare for war." I smirked evilly.
