The first semester was finally over. After all that has happened, it felt like an eternity. I was actually looking forward to the holidays, I could relax and enjoy my dimension like the old days.

"Ready to go?" Riuyo asks.

"Sure. On three, we open the portal." I ordered.

We all grab some chalk and trace a Necrocircle on the floor. I fill in the gaps with salt and start to chant the spell of activation. Before I could even say the first line of the spell, Kiru walked in with Yukai following behind.

"This is so cool! What is that? How do you use this? What's it for? Why are you all standing in that weird circle?" Yukai asked in a childish manner.

"Sorry. He insisted on seeing you." Kiru apologized.

"No worries. It's his first time seeing these kinds of things." I reassured.

"Yukai-kun. We meet again." Kuriagi said while slowly creeping up from behind.

In less than a second, Yukai froze up in place. By the look of Yukai's expression, I could tell that he had remembered what Kuriagi told him last time they met. In an instant, Yukai walked in front of me and kneeled down to show Kuriagi that he hadn't forgotten what he heard.

"You don't actually have to do that. He's just teasing you." I said as I started to eat a lollipop.

"I still want to do it. I don't want to feel like I'm breaking your rules." Yukai argued.

"Fine. You can do so if you wish. Just keep it on the low." I sighed.

Yukai sat down in a chair and watched as I went on to place the final touches on the Necrocircle. Everyone else stood in the angles of the star in the middle and gave me the signal to continue with casting the spell. I opened the spell book and smiled as I looked at Yukai and his anxious expression to find out what happens next.

"Yukai, would you like to see the spell book?" I asked as I showed him that detailed images on the page.

"That's so cool. What language is that? I haven't seen anything like that." He asked astonishingly.

"You're gonna have to stand in the center of the star if you want to know." I teased.

Yukai stood up as quickly as he could and ran to the spot that I was pointing at. I chanted the spell and we were transported to my dimension. Everyone felt at ease, knowing that we were back where we belonged, and Yukai was eager to learn more about me.

"I thought we were gonna arrive at the castle's courtyard. What made you change your mind?" Riuyo asked surprised by the sudden turn of events.

"I wanted to show him around. You guys can go and tell my father that we're here." I explained.

Riuyo and the others were hesitant at first but later they caved in and left for the castle grounds. I was too excited to notice that our clothes had changed to what we normally wear in this dimension. The feeling of being home was completely nostalgic, to such an extent that it almost made forget the reason why I brought Yukai along. I turned towards Yukai but I was met face to face with the sniper that had attacked me not too long ago. At first I was shocked and froze in place but after realizing that it was how he really looked in this world, I started to calm down.

"Yukai, let's go hunting. It would be a great way to see what we can  really do as a team." I cheered.

"Fine. Just this once." He replied hesitantly.

We ran into some rogue monsters almost immediately and we decided to fight our way out of it. It was fun at first, knowing that I had a friend I could trust fight alongside me, but sometimes I could see how Yukai just wanted to be alone. I left Yukai alone for a bit while I finished up with the fresh carcasses, but that's when I saw the truth come to light.

"Naku... Please forgive me for what I'm about to do." Yukai said in tears and shot me in the back of the head.

I instantly collapsed on the ground and felt a sharp pain in my left collarbone. I felt my eyes water and tears started to drip from the side of my face. Yukai tied my arms behind my back and carried me to a cave.

"Why? I thought we were friends. Why would you betray me like that?" I asked in tears.

I had no answer from Yukai for a while before stopping at the entrance of a dark city. The eerie sense of death and destruction was powerful enough to make me feel sick to my stomach. I knew that I was at the entrance to the Dark Ruler's kingdom. I knew that he was growing powerful but this  went to a whole new level.

"Vampire fangs, check. Werewolf claws, check. Dragon wings, check. Siren scales, check. I found these on just this one person?! Must be my lucky day. My boss will be pleased with the mission that I just completed. All this was thanks to you... Naku." He said in a crazed manner.

We entered the building that looked a lot like a castle and waited for any further action everything went silent for a while before the door behind me bursted open. The aura changed immediately and the first sensation I felt was the pain of the gunshot getting worse. It felt like it was burning me from the inside out.

"Y-Yukai-..." I tried to say but I was cut off by a guy in a metal suit and a mask to hide his face.

"Well done Yukai. You have brought me the key to my undoing, The Hybrid Prince, the monster said to rule after my demise, Prince Naku Tsukishiro." He said before he clawed my back open.

"Just as you ordered, master" Yukai chuckled.

The figure walked towards my front and looked at me with dark eyes. I was almost unconscious due to the amount of blood loss. At this point I was barely able to breathe normally. The pain in my body was flowing all over me, killing me slowly from the inside.

"Remember this face, for this is the face of your death. This... This is the face of the Dark Ruler that you so much wanted to destroy." The figure laughed and commanded Yukai to take me elsewhere.

"Yu-...kai-..." I said in a cracked voice.

Yukai pulled me across the ground and tossed me into a room closed up by silver bars and a lot of cracks in the walls to let the sunlight in.

"Why would you think we're friends. I would never be friends with a savage hybrid monster like you?" He scoffed and closed the silver gate between us.
