*Josiahthan's P.O.V.*
Everything hurts.
As I lay on the ground, my breathing quite shallow, I could remember all the bad things I said, the things I've done. The entire weight of the bad I've done would have caused me to puke, if I had the strength to.
I cracked a eye open. I must of been thrown back into my friends cell, cause I could see all of them asleep.....Well, all but one was asleep. I tried to get up, but only managed to support my body weight with my arms.
My hair fell in my face, as Faith hurried to my side, gasping, "J-Josiahthan." I coughed, falling back down on the floor. My crush gently led me over to a cot, laying me onto the bad excuse for a blanket.
I gritted my teeth in pain. Faith began to work immediately, creating plants that can help heal my injuries. Placing a plant bandaged over my one eye, Faith told me, "Try to stay still as much as you can, OK love?"
Nodding my head, I looked up towards Faith as if it was the first time I saw her. The way her tan hair cascaded over her shoulders, the way her freckles dotted her cheeks, the way her eyes seemed to glow with wisdom and peace....
I wished Master Chen hadn't dragged Faith into this....I wish Close hadn't dragged Faith into this......I wish I hadn't dragged Faith into this. She and the others shouldn't have to suffer for something Lady Clara is, for my past connection with the mad men.
As if she sensed that I was beating myself up over the entire situation, Faith wisely stated, "We cannot change the past, Josiahthan. No one can. Our past make us who we are; it makes us the human beings we are today. If we didn't have our pains, if we didn't have our pasts, we would be nothing."
Slowly, I nodded my head, only to have a burst of pain shoot through my neck. "Ugh, why do I have to get the worst of the beatings?" "You've been beaten before?" Faith asked, slight anger in her voice towards those who beated me.
I nodded cautiously, replying, "Sadly, yes, but it was a accident. During the first few months with Lady Clara, I saw a baby dragon getting beaten up by its owner. I stepped in front of the dragonite, taking a slam from the guys hammer....In the face."
Faith cringed, telling me, "That sounds terrible!" I nodded, forcing myself to sit up as I added, "Luckily, Razor is doing great now...." "Wait, that's how you obtained your dragon?" Faith asked, letting me lean on her as we sat next to the wall. "I thought you got him trough the Dragon Trails, were people can obtain dragons if the scaled creatures chooses to trust the human!"
I shook my head, commenting, "Razor didn't really wanted me to tell anyone that. He wanted to appear strong to the little ones, a hero of sorts for those who've been beated down." Faith raised an eyebrow, saying, "Interesting."
"That and Razor was quite embarrassed that I saved him; he didn't want the other dragons knowing about it and considering him a weakling." "He shouldn't be ashamed of being beaten down. Like that one song says, 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'."
Smirking, I asked Faith, "And now your quoting song lyrics?" "What can I say? Songs are quite beautiful." Faith giggles filled the cell. I gently laid down, as Faith laid down next to me. I wrapped a arm around her shoulders, Faith cautiously snuggling into me.
I felt better with Faith by my side. Staring up towards the ceiling, I asked, "Do you remember how we first met, when I got lost in the woods near my home?" Faith nodded, giggling, "You were crying like a girl!" I blushed in embarrassment.
"....I was lonely," Faith recalled, "My father was too busy running our tiny pizza shop in Ninjago City, rarely being home at all. Our mother was too busy teaching Zoey how to control her powers to pay any attention to me. I often traveled the woods, making friends with whatever I could find; a tree, a rock, a feather; anything! One evening, I heard someone crying. I followed the crying until I found you within the roots of a great willow tree."
".....My dad was devastated after my mom died giving birth to Israel," I sighed, causing Faith to look over to me. "Raising a newborn baby without his mother and running a rice farm was extremely tough. Dad and I didn't even sword train anymore, like we used to when I was little! Walking around the woods one day, I begged God to give me a friend, someone who would stay by my side no matter what. That was also the day I got lost, crying among the roots of a great willow tree....That's when I met you."
Faith sighed sadly, laying her head on my chest as she whispered, "It feels like forever since that day." Running one of my bandaged hands through her hair, I added, "Yeah, it has been....So much has happened to the both of us since then.....Faith?"
She looked up to me, as I gently cupped Faiths cheek with my hand. Wincing, I managed to sit up a bit, telling her, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left for all those years, years when we could have grown so close. I never meant to leave, but fate decided to be so cruel....Please forgive me. Faith, I love you."
Faith smiled, reassuring me, "It's OK, Josiahthan. I forgave you the day I saw you....Once again crying, but in a trashcan." I giggled sadly, saying, "That was not my plan, to get stuck in there....."
That's when Faiths lips met mine. Totally taken back by the kiss, it took me a moment before I kissed back. Her lips were soft, gentle against my own. I could lose myself to the kiss if I wasn't careful. After several moments of pure joy, we pulled back, panting slightly. Faith leaned in and whispered into my ears, the words that would change my life forever.....
"I love you too."
