Chapter Five
"That's it. Call Kelden!"Sorgo said. He watched as Belendize walked into the other room."Who was the man? Better question is what is he?"Aurora said, her voice quivering. "That man is a vampire. Any more descriptive things you saw?" She thought back to it."He had a long scar on the right side of his face. He held a scythe in his hand and he was wearing a cloak the color of your fur." As she described him, Sorgo became more and more disturbed."That's Urvek, the bounty hunter. Rumors are that he was paid to find you and kill you since you were the key to destroying their kingdoms."He whispered. Kelden burst through the door with Norin, Calvin, Belven, and Tegan. Tegan put his hands on her face, stroking her snout slowly. Sorgo snarled loudly and laid over her body protectively, a fiery glare piercing through their souls as he looked at each of them with his emerald green eyes. They slowly backed up. Kelden held out his hand, waiting for Sorgo to nudge it for permission."I must ask her now. Please Sorgo." The wary male glanced at everyone and nudged his hand, then licked her cheek as she shivered a bit. He got up and walked a few feet away from the bed. Belven and Norin poked him in a teasing way. He nipped their hands and snarled. Tears went down his ebony cheeks. Tegan frowned and smacked them both."Now, Aurora, tell me everything that happened in your dream."Kelden said. She hesitated, raising her head and barking softly to Sorgo. He walked over, blushing as she nuzzled him for comfort. Everyone but Kelden had their face turn red. They all muttered to themselves. She snorted as Kelden chuckled."Okay. It was calm and soothing and my dream took place on a beach. It smelled like apples! Then when the man appeared the waves were violent, winds howling and screeching as they carried the scent of decay. Dead palm trees and hard sand. He had red eyes-"Sorgo cut her off."Urvek appeared in her dream. He said that they were coming for her." Everyone shivered. Kelden's face was unreadable. "What is it?"She asked. He hesitated then looked at them all once more before looking deep into her eyes."Urvek killed you father in his attempt to pry the location of your whereabouts from his mind. He wouldn't slip, so he killed him. He killed your mother as well, she was protecting your whereabouts from him also."He said. The wind blowing through the wind suddenly stopped. Aurora looked at her paws, tears streaming down her face."But it was just a dream right?"Calvin broke the silence. His remark actually calmed her down."I don't know my child, but we will ALL be on the lookout." He handed her a journal with an alicorn that looked like Aerodite on the cover."Record all of your dreams in there. This could help us with this situation with how they plan to kill you. As long as you do this, we will protect you from any possible ambushes."Kelden ordered. She smiled and took it lightly into her mouth. She put it beside her stomach and smiled at them all.
Sorgo slept next to her as she stayed awake with the rest of the group by her side."Tegan, do you think they will attack soon?"She asked quietly. He glanced at her and smiled, her heart flew again which calmed her more."No. And if they do Sorgo is always by your side. He will protect you." She snorted."Not ALWAYS. Oren doesn't like him. So he can be anywhere near the den." He chuckled and looked at Sorgo, his back going up and down. "About that, we must tell Oren that Sorgo has to be allowed into the den. That way he can protect you." She squealed and hugged him with her paws. He laughed quietly."Tegan, how soon until the end of the year?"She then asked. Tegan looked at her."Aurora, don't even use the word soon when referring to the end of the school year. That is about 6 months away." Aurora grunted and looked at her paws."I wonder who I match with."She muttered. He blushed. They both glanced at Calvin."For him, I have no idea but I know it isn't you. For Sorgo, he would want it to be you. Belven as well. Can you believe you hooked an Elder? And you have my best friend too!" Norin snored as he used her long soft tail for a pillow."And you?"Aurora asked. His face flushed."I'm not sure yet. Has to be more into the school year until then. It's only been the first day of school for God's sake Aurora. Don't rush me."He quickly said, stuttering on a few words. Before she could open her mouth, Tegan bolted it shut with both of his hands. "No! My turn to ask you a question."He scolded. She giggled and slowly nodded, trying to shake off his hands. He scoffed at her behavior towards it and brushed his jacket."Now, why are you always kissing Sorgo?"He asked, grinning wickedly. She looked at Kelden's sleeping form as he used Sorgo's stomach for a pillow since Belven was using his tail. "I don't know. I guess when Belven told me Sorgo imprinted on me I took it seriously. So I kind of supported the idea."She explained. The crickets chirped outside, the stars glowing brightly as she glanced out the window."So in that case, you're his new girlfriend."Tegan said, his face turning rosy red. She nodded and smiled at Sorgo."After all, Belven said we were perfect since he was my age." Tegan scoffed and looked at Belven, his red hair all over the place."So what! There are elves who date and one of them is 10 years older than the other. So age is no boundary for love."He argued suddenly. She held back her paw a bit. She narrowed her eyes and laid down."I'm going to sleep."She muttered. He grimaced."One question. What did you do to Oren?" She shrugged."Ylves said I was possessed by my black hate and cold fury. Then she said I wasn't supposed to let that happen if I had telekinesis." Tegan nodded, intrigued."It sounds likes you had a hate slash."He said. She tilted her head, confused."What's that?" He patted her neck."A hate slash is when your hate forms into an emotional sword and slashes through your conscious, making you go blind with rage yet you had no idea how. Your telekinesis is used to inflict damage on others. You better be careful, next time could kill someone." He yawned, stretching his arms out. He buried his head into her neck fur and fell asleep as she did.
Belendize kicked them awake. "Out of my office you go now. To school you must get ready for."She growled. Sorgo and Aurora were sore, as were the others. Kelden opened a portal for Sorgo and Aurora. They trudged into it, falling to the stone cold floor of the den when they arrived. Ylves shoved them up."I'm sore all over."They both whined. She growled."Don't worry, Belendize will help you. Now get dressed. Sorgo, your parents sent over your uniform, you'll change after she does." Aurora trudged behind the boar skin and changed reluctantly. She winced and cried out in pain in the process. Sorgo followed, crying out as well. They almost trudged out the den before Ylves saved them the pain by opening a portal. They walked through, running to the Healer's Office immediately."Sore remedies now."They wailed. She tossed them a tube of blue liquid and they took a sip, relieved immediately. They corked it and walked out, running into the rest of the group. They groaned with pain as they rammed into each other. Aurora quickly handed them the tube, which ran out after they handed it back. She chuckled and tossed it to Belendize. They walked into the large building."Pull out your schedules folks. Let's see. Who's the lucky teacher who has us today?"Aurora joked. They burst out laughing and pulled their schedules out."I've got Talent History next. Oooh, I really want to learn and find out my talent."Calvin said sarcastically. She giggled and looked at Sorgo's schedule."My favorite subject, Forest Studies." She frowned. 'I don't have that class.' He grimaced as well. Belven glanced at his schedule."Who has Astronomy with me?"He asked. She squealed and jumped on his back in pure joy."I do!" Aurora blushed and got off of hid back, seeing that Sorgo and Belven were having a sudden glare contest. Belven scoffed and Sorgo huffed. They went their desperate ways again."What do YOU have against Sorgo?"She demanded. Belven growled a little."Why did you emphasize the word you?"He asked, tugging to get off topic."I mean Tegan had something against him, so did Oren. Now you, please tell me why." The Elder blushed."It's personal. None of your business."He snarled. They walked into Astronomy. The room was dark, seemingly disembodied murmurs coming from everywhere. Aurora's eyes glowed, lighting the room up a little. Belven sat down in an empty desk, lighting up the empty desk next to him for Aurora to see. As she headed to the desk, a feathery item smacked her face. She yelped, wincing at the slight pain. She rubbed her eyes and started to have a sneeze attack."Oh, so sorry. I guess my wings are too big."A voice said. She groaned, but not it pain. The voice was slightly deep, a male voice. Belven flashed light on the boy as well. He had dark brown hair that looked black. He had orange eyes and large feathery wings. His disheveled hair changed to brown as the light shone upon it. He had on a dark green uniform for 3rd Layer. He seemed about the same age as Norin."Here, the desk the Elder was showing you."He said. Belven growled and he scooched in his seat farther away from him.
"I'm Juri."He whispered, not glancing at Belven. His red hair was messy, his teeth looking like they were about ready to shatter. Tiny lights suddenly flashed all over the room. She heard flaps, wind blowing her hair. A spotlight flashed on a tall man, an angel. He was devilishly handsome, kind and sweet. He had blue-green neon eyes."My name is Mister Gelkin. But you can call me Kory."He said, winking. She scoffed and looked at Belven, who was glaring at the teacher."Astronomy, the study of space and stars."He said, spreading his arms for dramatic effect. Juri leaned in." He's just like every other guy teacher, wanting an abundance of girls drooling over him."He whispered. His wings shot out, taking up into the air. He outlined a constellation."What is the name of this special constellation?"He asked. The lights of the stars pulsed. Mister Gelkin pointed at Aurora."You, the hybrid! Come up here and tell me."Gelkin ordered. Go up there? She used her wind powers and formed her wind elemental wings. She flew up, observing the constellation. The shape of it, down to every little detail. Something in her mind clicked."The wolf constellation."She stated. He snorted and went over to another one. That trademark square, she thought."The Pegasus." He grunted and motioned her to her seat. She went back down, smiling at Belven. He took a strand of her hair and twisted it around his finger. Juri poked him and motioned at the teacher with a growl. He flapped his wings a little and smiled. Belven snarled and watched Gelkin."Now kids, your first project is to make a creative constellation out of the stars tonight. Now, who wants star gazers?" They all shouted with glee."Who would want a telescope that bad?"She asked. Belven laughed out loud."A star gazer is a candy. It is both sweet and sour and in the morning, your hair will glow with sparkles like moondust was spread all over it. I know you will look absolutely beautiful." She giggled and blushed. Mister Gelkin threw the candy down on them. It was in a silver wrapper, glowing on the inside."Don't eat it yet."Juri said. She nodded and teleported the candy to her locker. The bell rung loudly. They took out their schedules."I have.....What? What kind of class is that?" Belven snatched her schedule."You have Floral Organisms next. In that class you learn about the flowers here that are living and moving things."He explained. Juri smiled and flexed his wings."Thanks for the clarification Belven the old dude. After all, I must respect my elders."He teased. Belven clenched his hand into a fist, Juri' s wings looking irregular. He cried out in pain."Relocate my wings this instant!"He growled. Belven let his hand out, but his wings were still dislocated. Aurora gave a frustrated grunt and relocated his wings. "We talk LATER!"She growled. Belven chuckled and walked off."What's his problem?" She shrugged."I asked him. He wouldn't tell me why he was so angry at the guy who imprinted on me." Juri stopped walking."A werewolf imprinted on you?"He exclaimed. She nodded slowly. Kenley appeared next to her."Another guy friend? Lady you are on a roll." She blushed and looked at Juri, who flexed his wings again with the pain of the relocating. "Well, I've got Floral Organisms, how 'bout you?" Aurora said. Kenley nodded, the same class. They walked in warily, the door wrapped in vines. "I am Missus Winchester, an elf who has become one with nature."Aurora, Kenley, and Juri turned their heads to see a grown woman sitting in a tribe made of vines, embroidered with magnolias. She had silver hair, a crown made of roses. Her eyes were light blue, almost at the verge where they could be green like the vines.
They hesitantly sat down at desks that were wrapped in vines. A vine slithered up her chair and placed a hibiscus flower in her hair. It was white, tipped with blue, the center splashed with purple and red. She pet the vine, which tickled her chin. Missus Winchester hailed her vines."Class, I hope by the end of the year, I can make you love plant life as much as I do. Now, let's start with non living flowers." The vines took flowers from baskets made of grass, placing them onto each ones desk. A cine hesitated to leave a lily on her desk as it noticed the hibiscus, the holes representing its eyes staring at it. It slithered away, placing the lily on someone's desk. She used her telekinesis to place the flower on her desk. Her fingers brushed the flower' s delicate petals, her eyes watching the tips change color. It returned to its natural blue. Juri cuddled with his tulip, it's magenta petals turning neon pink. Kenley smiled at her rose. It had a tye dye pattern to it, orange and yellow. "The non living flowers given to you can change color according to the flower itself' s mood."Missus Winchester announced. Juri folded his wings, trying to get comfortable. She chuckled. "Oh. It seems like my vines have respect for the hybrid. They gave you a rare hibiscus."Missus Winchester then said. Aurora blushed, not liking the attention she was given already in two short days. Juri's wing shot out, jabbing her ribs. The tips of the hibiscus turned crimson. "Juri!" The teacher shrieked. His arms flailed."It's not my fault my wings are freakishly big! And long!!"He cried out."Well you are taking her to Belendize. And while you are there, please ask why your wings are so large." He grunted and tossed Aurora over his shoulder easily. She winced at the sudden pain. Kenley growled a little. "So your wings are deformed?"She asked, heaving. He looked at her face, then looked back to the window."Why are you heading towards the window?"Aurora yelled. He chuckled and waved his hand, the wall disappearing. He jumped, his wings spreading. They flapped, the tips practically touching. He landed, knocking on the door. Juri's face flushed as Aurora gripped his neck. "Don't drop me!"She cried out. Belendize opened the door, letting them in."Please don't be the kid who sets a record here!"Belendize groaned. Juri burst out laughing, stopping when a ball of fire appeared in Aurora's hand. Belendize took her to the bed."Jabbed rib? I've got the perfect remedy."Her African accent slightly frightening her at the moment. Juri sat down beside her, fiddling with his fingers."Belendize, are my wings deformed? They are too large and too wide." Belendize handed her a vile full of yellow fluids. "Your wings are not deformed. Has anything happened to your wings that might have stretched them? Because your father had large wings so it's genetically inherited."She said.
Aurora caught a glimpse of Juri crying a little. "Yes. When my mother and father got into a fight, I tried my best to separate them. They always fight over the little things and I hate it. So when I tried to pull them apart so they didn't do any physical damage to either one, they pulled on my wings and threw me into the wall. They didn't notice until the pain truly kicked in."Belendize covered her mouth with her hand in shock."Don't worry, I'll not repeat anything I heard here. I promise." Belendize rushed over to a shelf, taking a beaker full of neon purple liquid. She poured it into the large pot that looked like a pot witches used. It began to bubble and pop. She took a vile with a wax like substance and dropped the entire thing into the pot. It sizzled, crackling and hisses. The area around it became foggy. She dropped blue petals of orchids into the remedy she was whipping up. She tossed in some holly leaf and spread some mint here and there. Belendize motioned Aurora to pass her a large metal spoon. She gave her the spoon, watching the healer stir the solution. She picked up Juri and suddenly dropped him in the pot."I thought you were a healer....NOT A WITCH WHO EATS LITTLE BOYS!!!!!"Aurora howled at the top of her lungs. The tips of his longest feathers stuck out of the substance. She ran to the edge of the large pot. Aurora growled as Belendize burst out laughing."No child. This is a remedy that only works if used in bathing methods. That way it can get to the areas of the body where sore or injured muscles are and someway massage them. So Juri is perfectly fine....as long as he didn't get it in his eyes."She informed. Aurora blushed, embarrassed by her sudden jump-to-conclusion action. Juri's head shot out of the pot. He constantly gave sighs of relief and relaxation. Her ribs were healed."You know, just so I don't make a record here, you should give me a copy of your potions cook book or whatever."Aurora whispered to Belendize. The African healer chuckled and nodded."Good idea." She nodded. Aurora ruffled Juri's hair, wiping the substance on the edge of the pot."Is that feeling wonderful?"She asked. He nodded eagerly. "Take off your uniform. It works better with exposed skin."Belendize said suddenly. Both Aurora and Juri turned redder than the sky during sunset, redder than a tomato that painted a fire truck, redder than the color red itself."Y-you sure? I m-mea-mean she is literally right h-her-here!"Juri exclaimed in protest. The healer shrugged, not caring. Aurora turned her back on Juri, walking to the bed. She sat down, not facing Juri. He gave an annoyed sigh and she heard the clothes ruffling."Why can't she leave?"Juri asked. Belendize growled."Stop complaining child! Just get in the pot!!!" He huffed. Sorgo burst into the office."Where is she? Why is Juri naked? And why are you watching him?" Belendize was not fazed, knowing Sorgo had imprinted on Aurora."First question, on the bed. Second question, remedial bath to relax his wing muscles and unstretch his wings. Third question, I'm old enough and everyone does it as if they are their own children."Belendize snarled. Sorgo innocently shoved his hands into his pockets.
"You're healed, right?"He asked Aurora. She sighed and nodded. Sorgo glared at the angel, who just shrugged. He sat on the bed next to her. Sorgo hugged her, smiling."At least it wasn't Tegan who hurt you. I would have tore him apart."He whispered. She chuckled." Tegan would never hurt me." Aurora said. Juri grunted, both of them looking in his direction."I thought we all made it clear this was an accident."He growled. Belendize nodded."We all understand clearly child. Now spread a wing." Juri hesitantly spread one of his wings. It seemed like the wing of a normal angel, not too long."Proof the remedy works. I'd like you to take a bottle of this home. In case another accident like before happens."Belendize requested. Juri sniffled, then took the bottle handed to him. He dragged it through the solution, corking it once it was full. Sorgo handed him the uniform, covering Aurora's eyes. She giggled and crossed her arms. "Sorgo, with your free hand, check my schedule love."She said. He blushed a tad bit and took out the schedule."You have Science then World History."He said. She nodded slowly and sighed."Is he done yet?"She asked, rushing. Juri flapped his wings, smiling."Yep! I'm done."He said with glee. The joyous angel flexed his wings and walked out the door."Okay, you can take your hand off my eyes now."Aurora said. Sorgo lifted his hand off. It revealed before her eyes his warm face. His wonderful white smile. His scraggy black hair. And last but not least, his gorgeous emerald green eyes. Sorgo took her hand and led her back into the building. "It's already time to head to seventh period."He said, his Irish accent turning a bit more normal English."I'd like to ask, do you use an Irish accent?"She asked. He chuckled, his voice completely changed."Of course! I like using it. I speak with no accent truly but I just love Irish people."Sorgo said. His tone of voice was perfect! Not too deep, not too high. It was just right."Then stop speaking in an Irish accent, it's weird. I've always wanted to ask if you just used that accent."She said. Sorgo nodded slowly."My parents always said I was one for impressions. This one time, I used a Russian accent for two straight years."He teased himself somehow."That fits, I mean your name sounds Russian."Aurora replied. They both giggled and strolled through the halls. Aurora decided to message Tegan.'I need to talk to you AND Belven at lunch....it's up to you if you want to bring anyone else.' She blinked, noticing Sorgo and his fiery glare."Who were you messaging?"He asked, a growl welling up in his throat."Tegan. Gosh, why are you so protective?"She shot. He snarled."That dream could be a message to you saying,'I'm coming to kill you!' We must stay vigilant and alert! Wary of any unknown sources and information. I don't want you to die!!!"He cried out in frustration. She groaned and stormed off. Aurora didn't want to be watched every second by an overprotective werewolf. The bell rung and she headed for the lunch room. Juri came up behind her, the rustling of his feathers giving him away."Juri, would you appreciate if someone just constantly followed you and watched your every step?"She asked, not looking back. He sighed and crossed his arms."Of course not. That's something called a stalker."He replied. She laughed and went into the lunch line. Aurora breathed heavily as she chose lots of food. Her plate was full of meat, vegetables, and sweets. She sat with Belven and Tegan, Juri following."Well, you sure are hungry aren't you?"Tegan teased. She nodded."I'm just really nervous to talk to you."She said. Her fingers brushed her hair tips."Why?"Belven asked, worry clouding his eyes."Well, I wanted to ask if it was okay if I dated." Juri glanced at the two elves, all three flabbergasted."Why first of all?"They all asked."Well, to release the stress I have all the time."Aurora growled, blushing. Tegan and Belven exchanged glances."Well if we said yes, which is undetermined, which one of us would you date?"Belven asked.
Sorgo ran over."Just leave me alone!"She cried out. He hesitated. Belven rushed her with his looks."Look, I like you all but you can't possibly make me choose! I need some time to think."Aurora said quietly, fear cloaking her mind. Sorgo's eyes widened, her fear floating into his nose."Guys, stop pressuring her. You remember what happened to Oren. Fear is worse than hate."He said, staring at her blankly."Fear slashes are worse and can damage your brain so I agree with Sorgo, stop rushing her into things."Tegan agreed. Sorgo gave him a small smile and hugged Aurora."If I'm overwhelming you, just tell me. I'll leave and keep the visiting to a minimum."He whispered softly. She sighed shakily."No Sorgo. It's not that. You are overwhelming but for a good reason. Only you are going way overboard with following me everywhere. I think I'm saying that I want to spend one day with someone else. Like Tegan or Belven. Maybe Kenley!"She said. He nodded slowly, his eyes blank with his face showing no expression. "You do that. I'll go and see if this helps you enough."He said blandly. He walked off, seeming robotic."I had to do it. You know that."Aurora growled. Belven gave a guilt full sigh."It's my fault. Pressuring you to choose. You have the right to your romantic privacy. I can't just but in."He said. Tegan crossed his arms and nodded."I think it's a good time to use that three hour detention now."He said quietly. She glared at him and stalked off after the bell rung. She hid behind the crowd in the corner of the elevator as she went to the last floor. Aurora walked into the office."Queen Wirwix, I would like to serve my three hour detention now."She said, hands behind her back respectfully. "Very well then. Go to the First Layer and sit quietly in classroom 1-20. It will be calm since the teacher has no classes recently."The Queen stated. "I need it!"Aurora said, plopping down in a chair."Why my dear student?" She glanced at Wirwix. "Well, after a while I gained a lot of guy friends."She said slowly. Queen Wirwix nodded, crossing her arms."And they are overwhelming how?" Aurora raised an eyebrow."Well one imprinted on me so he never leaves me alone often. One of them has something against him-"Wirwix interrupted her."Just say names. It's not polite to say it or them when the person in general has a name."She growled. Aurora raised both eyebrows."Okay then. Well Belven has something against Sorgo, and when I ask why he says it's personal and growls. I just want to know because first Tegan had something against him, and Oren still does, my guardian. Then comes Calvin! He is so rude. The day I met him I thought he would be like Tegan, kind and sweet, but he was the opposite."She said. Queen Wirwix chuckled."Ah yes. Calvin Heldron. We have had many complaints about him using vulgar sentences around girls. I'm not surprised." Aurora laughed and smiled."Yeah. Norin isn't much trouble. But the guys have a problem with Juri. He's a nice guy, don't be mean. Belven has to pick a fight with my new friends all the time. They don't care much about Kenley, which leads me to the theory that they have a crush on me."Queen Wirwix smiled."You are a very beautiful young lady. Their thoughts shall be confirmed in a few weeks." Aurora stopped smiling."What do you mean a few weeks?"She asked. The queen sighed."I've meant to announce it tomorrow so don't spread news. This year we moved the perfect match tests to the middle of the school year. Months here last four weeks like back where you used to live. But unfortunately they pass quickly somehow. So don't be surprised."She admitted. Aurora nodded quickly and looked at the door."I think I'm fully prepared for detention now."She squeaked. She bolted out the door, the elevator going slow. Elevator music played softly."Classic elevators. Always ruining the action."Aurora muttered.
As the door of the elevator opened, she dashed out and into the hallways. She caught glimpses of the hallway clocks, desperate to get to detention before the bell rung since Science was on the obsidian made floor. The bell rung, the horrible sound staying in her ears. She ran faster, arriving at the door. Aurora walked in, heaving. She sat next to a shifter. He had blond hair that was streaked with several shades of brown. His hazel eyes glinted as he glanced at her, smiling. He seemed like a football player to her, a high school football player. His feet were on the desk, his arms crossed behind his head."Pendan! Feet off the desk."The teacher screeched. Pendan? This was who Sorgo spoke of before Gym yesterday. He was kind of hot. She shrugged and looked forward."Feel free to fall asleep. You will be here for three hours. I don't mind."The teacher said. Aurora smiled."Can I go to the bathroom?"She asked. He nodded, pointing at a door that was in the classroom."Clever."She muttered. Aurora walked in. She took off her uniform and changed, that way she could sleep calmly without having to bend her back to put her head on the uncomfortable desk. Aurora padded out, teleporting her uniform to her locker since she would be here till the end of school. She curled up on the desk, one of her legs hanging off. A hand lifted her hanging leg. She jumped and growled lowly. Pendan raised his hands."Woah, just trying to help."He said, an accent so clearly French. She snorted and moved her desk. With her long tail, she swept the dirt away."Whatever Frenchie. Just let me sleep and the big bad wolf won't get you."She growled. Like Sorgo, he spoke clear English."You thought I spoke French? Better yet you thought I was French. Wow, looks like being raised by humans really does ruin your mind."He teased. She bared her fangs and laid down, sniffling. She fell asleep, her alicorn journal by her side just incase. Aurora fell into a deep sleep. The light of the sun shone down on the forest clearing. Deer grazing with their young, birds singing happily. The ever so sweet grass glows, as a delicate smell of honey dances with the winds and into noses of the living. Trees swaying, speaking to each other as the wind whispered rumors. Aurora smiled. Her body tensed again. Lightning flashed, Urvek appearing once more. The grass was black and dead. The winds fled from the scent of decay once more. The trees drooped, nothing but bare pieces of wood. Carcasses laid everywhere, skeletal deer grazing on the withered grass."Yes dear child. I will come for you soon. Once you are dead I shall feed to you the hellhounds and crush your very skull with my own two hands. Then, the darkness shall cloak the land in its everlasting glory. And your little friends will perish as you have failed to protect them."He snarled, his red eyes glowing. He held up his scythe, smiling devilishly and revealing his fangs."Your day of death will come on the most important day of your 11 year old life. The day you find out who you are perfectly matched. I will be there to put you out of your misery." The words slipped his lips as bitter as coffee and as sharp as a knife. His scythe bared down on her. Everything went black. Aurora felt lifeless suddenly, as if the world had slipped through her fingers. She awoke, Pendan and the rest of her friends atop of her curled body."The entire school heard you. Screeching like a banshee on a sugar high."Sorgo said. Her pupils were being consumed by her leaf green eyes. "He came back. He's going to kill me. Don't let him touch me Sorgo! Please promise."She said, her voice breaking. Her held her large head close. Her tail curled up in fear. "Urvek will not touch a single hair on your head. I promise."He whispered softly. Tegan handed her the alicorn journal."In the dream goes."He said. She looked at Sorgo, he held a pencil up and smiled."Now describe it."He requested. Aurora nodded slowly."It was in a forest clearing. Deer grazing, sweet grass glowing and the trees swayed as the wind blew. It smelled like tasty honey. Birds sung their songs to me softly. He came! Everything became vice versa. Dead grass, carcasses everywhere. Skeletal deer grazing on the dead grass. The trees were dead and bare. It smelled like decay again."She described. Tegan and Belven shivered."Go on. What did he say?" Aurora glanced at them all, shaking in her fur."He said he would kill me and darkness would cloak the land. And you would all suffer because I failed. Then he said he would come the day we found out our perfect match. To end my misery...."Aurora said, shaking more violently.
Pendan and another shifter carried Aurora to the home of the Heldrons. They came as elephants, carrying her laid out wolf form in their tusks. After she jumped down, the other one turned into a phoenix and flew away. Pendan shifted into a wolf. Blond with black paws and a black stomach. He flashed a smile and left. "May we all pray that Kelden can help you."Norin said. Calvin avoided their area of the house, afraid of Tegan's deadly glare. Kelden seemed to become more and more worried as he read the description."We will have to get you a guard dog."He said."How about a hellhound? They can smell vampires no matter what! Even if they try to teleport or hide downwind. While they fly as well!"Tegan inquired. Sorgo looked at his feet, tears streaming down his face."Only if Sorgo is okay with it due to history."Kelden growled. Tegan sighed and glanced at the werewolf. He nodded slowly."It's okay. For her safety."He said. Aurora licked his cheek, smiling. He chuckled and hugged her head."At least she's been holding in so much fear and hatred."Belven said. Kelden looked at her, confused."The other day I had a hate slash and I hurt Oren."She told him shamefully. Kelden laid a hand on her shoulder then looked at Belven."Tell me, what is the benefit in that?"He asked. Tegan glanced at Aurora."Tegan said that next time I could kill someone." She told him. Belven jumped in as planned."If she has enough hatred and fear cooped up inside her, then when Urvek seems to corner her, she could kill him with a hate slash or worse...."The Elder trailed off.
