That Moment
Ashlynn
I walk out of the building into the ally. For the first time in forever my heart was beating faster than usual making my whole body heat up in panic. They found out. They found out how to kill me. It's him. He's half vampire half tracker, and he's going to kill me. I breathe in and out slowly calming myself.
"Be careful Ashlynn, your human fear is showing." I hear the dreaded voice say behind me. I turn around and face him with a small smile on my face masking my terrified feelings.
"Stalking me, now, are we? Sort of low, is it not?" I ask my head tilted to the side, my tongue tracing my fangs as I look at him. His blonde hair a dark near gold tinted color, his eyes a calm sea of navy blue, the tall lean build of him towering half a head over me. Well he wasn't bad looking. I could say that much. Just too dangerous.
He walks towards me, a sly smile playing on his lips, "I'm only doing what I'm told." I look down at his hands finding him twirling a small dagger around. "But tell me, is it true that I am really the only thing that can kill you? Cause if so, that is really something else, I wonder why, don't you? Why me? Why a vampire tracker?"
"You really are a master at one sided conversations." I say dryly.
"Nah, I'm just being a dick." he says chuckling.
"You know what they say, first step to fixing it is admitting it." I reply trying to keep calm.
"I'm not a psycho, Ashlynn, I'm not going to impulsively kill you." He says as his fingers take my chin and turn my face towards his, "Though the same can't be said in most of your situations, hm?"
I try to shake my head free but his vampiric strength makes it useless even though I have the same ability, he must be older. "Calling me psycho implies that I am not seeing straight because of mental issues, " I lean in until we share the same breath my fangs bared in my sickly sweet smile, "I can see just fine."
"You know my vampire bite is deadly to you, like yours is deadly to a human, the venom, it could kill you and you couldn't do anything about it because your magic is useless on me. " He says quietly as his hand moves my hair away from my neck making a shake run through my body.
My head falls back against the brick wall, exasperated, "If you're going to kill me, do it already."
"If you don't help me, I will kill you, gladly." He says stepping back.
At that moment, I knew I just dug myself deep.
