No Go
"I've got the blue prints." Liz says as she enters the kitchen waving them around, bringing our eyes to her. Her plan was to 'pursuade' the heir to the head of the Ring to get access to them. Glancing at her attire of short black dress and curly blonde hair, I imagine it wasn't hard to rope in a horny male teen. Seemed to be working well on Donovan. I rolled my eyes as I catch him watching her.
Nickolas walks over grabbing it without a glance at her, I was subconsciously happy about that. He didn't look at her. Why did that thought bring so much satisfaction? I shook the thoughts away focusing on the blueprint of the prison as he lays it out on the granite island in the middle of the kitchen.
I walk over along with Liz and Donovan our eyes studying the map infront of us in silence.
"This is close to impossible." I say breaking the quiet with a doubtful voice earning a look from Nickolas. I look back at him with challenge in my dark eyes, "It is."
He ran a hand through his hair, "There must be some way~" he begins before the voice if his sister pipes in from the door way,
"Care to let me in? I mean I am the one you are risking your life for, I believe I should have say." She says her thin frame leaning against the doorframe. A knot of sympathy made its way into the pit of my stomach. My God, I've gotten weak. I mentally jerk myself back.
"He isn't risking, he's taking a gun and pointing it at every one of us, this isn't risk this is suicide." Donovan says and I nod my head in agreement. Clare walks in her steps light and frail as she sits on a stool next to me.
"You can't do this." She says to Nickolas softly only to receive a shake of his head as he continued to study the blueprint. I watched as pain and disappointment filled his eyes, and I felt as his feelings began to become my feelings. Overwhelming me.
"He can." I blurt out drawing the eyes of every one of them to me. I pause, "We can."
"And how do you suppose to make this miraculous ing happen?" Liz asks in doubt her eyebrow raised.
"I'm a developing witch. A hybrid witch. First of its kind may I add. We have no idea what I can do." I state glancing around the counter at them as they begin to realize.
"We can train, we can see how far your abilities really stretch. You might be our only needed weapon," Nickolas says quietly putting into words what everyone was already thinking. I nod in approval of the statement,
"Exactly, but until then we need to hold off on the plan making." I reply glancing once more at the puzzle pieces of the map. They all mutter an agreement.
"We will work with you in shifts then, we need you ready as soon as possible." Nickolas adds and I have to hold in a groan. Wonderful.
"She can't forget to feed. Wouldn't want any other complications." Donovan puts in as he looks pointedly at Nickolas. He only nods in response and I have to conceal my smile and dry laugh, if only he knew just how complicated it really was.

"You're not even trying." Liz says with a blue eyed glare across the library table. I personally begged to differ, considering that I've been sitting here for a total of two hours and a progressing migraine having yet to accomplish the set goal which was making a portal. Now, being a hybrid, I shouldn't be able to do this but being the powerful vampire that I am we wondered if it could out weigh the success of the spell.
"I am, it's just not working," I reply with a snowy white look that challenged hers.
"Again, Ashlynn." Nickolas says from the doorway, his voice demanding in a low tone. My eyes trail up to him with my eyebrow raised,
"Did I miss the part where you became my drill instructor?" I ask dryly resulting in the edges of his lips to tilt up. My eyes subtly widen in surprise but I hide it as his face seems to morph back into seriousness.
"No but you seemed to have forgotten the part where I could kill you." He answers curtly. Liz chuckles under her breath as she glances down to her nails. I hold back the impulse to roll my eyes, instead I close them and breathing out slowly I concentrate, focusing on the words I began to chant quietly.
I replayed the foreign words over and over, repeating them in an endless loop as I try to ignore the pressure pushing down on my head. Five minutes in and I heard Elizabeth's intake in breath.
"She's doing it." Were her quiet words. I felt someone beside me, but I already knew who it was. The link between us practical screeched at the nearness of him as he kneeled beside my chair.
"Come on, Ash, just a little more." He says quietly and I obey never ceasing the constant loop of words that strew from my half opened lips. But soon enough the pressure in my brain began to take toll, blood started to flow from my nose as I began to chant louder as if volume could make up for the progressing weakness I felt. I need to do this. I have to do this.
As soon as Nickolas saw what was happening, the flood gate holding back his feelings and thoughts seemingly shattered leaving me with everything. I gasped and my searing white eyes shot open looking around frantically for the one causing me to have a panic attack only to find him having one of his own. My first instinct was to put my hand on him and reassure him that I'm fine but I refrained instead I pried my eyes away and looked to where Liz was standing.
She was standing infront of the portal I had made, but interest of the color glistening the dark red it had when Sophie had made it, it glowed a transparent snowy white that seemingly shimmered. I was mesmerized.
"Ashlynn, you're bleeding." Nickolas says as he looks at me with dark navy eyes. My pale hand goes up to my nose thinking it was only a little bit from the pressure only to find it flowed over my lips and down my chin. My finger drew away with dripping dark red blood. Elizabeth just stares at me.
"What are you looking at Blondie? Get me a towel." I say through the black sleeve of my long sleeved shirt as I try to wipe the majority from my now literal blood red stained lips. I get a glare in return before she looks at Nickolas with question in her eyes, he nodded and she left with a quick stride.
"Let me see." He says in a distant tone that caught me off guard. I turn my chair to face him and he leans in tilting my head up. I sigh as I roll my eyes. Figures that I couldn't just do it with no consequence.
"I'm fine. Just pressure from the spell is all." I reply pulling away from his grasp on my chin and looking to the portal. It was still holding strong, but if it worked would be a completely different subject. In an abrupt movement he stood, running his hands through his dark blonde hair before walking out silently, leaving me with a pang of want I tried to ignore.
