Blackmail at its Finest
Ashlynn
"I have to do something in exchange for my life?" I ask, "Cliché much?"
He shrugs half-heartedly, "It works doesn't it? You can't think of yourself dead, can you?" he asks in return.
I go to deny the fact, my lips parted open in ready to defend, but I find nothing to say other than, "What then?"
"My sister is sick, deathly sick. You're going to help me find a cure." he says.
"Why do you need me for this? I have no doubt you can manage Sherlock Holmes all by your lonesome." I say.
"The cure is wherever Michael Brooks is buried." he replies and I stare blankly at him. I haven't heard that name in forever.
"I-I --" I start
"You are Ashlynn Grace Brooks, yes?" he asks.
"Uh, yeah, yeah I am." I say my mind already spinning.
"You're going to help me bring him back from death with your weird voodoo witch magic so he can tell me where it is." He says and my eyes widen.
"He was a monster. You may think I'm bad, but he will take over, you don't understand how this will go down if he comes back." I say the sincerity of the warning in my voice.
"My sister needs the cure, we can deal with your father afterwards." He replies.
"What is she sick with that we need to raise the most destructive man on the planet for?" I ask dryly.
"A witches curse." he answers. I throw my hands into the air in frustration.
"The one thing I can't undo, you don't happen to know her key word in her little spell do you?" I ask.
"If I did, this would already be fixed and I damn well wouldn't be talking to Michael's descendent. You're doing very well at walking in his footsteps though, I commend you." he snaps out.
"How would he help?" I inquire, my now iced eyes narrowed at him in angry annoyance.
"He was the oldest hybrid known, Ashlynn, every single gift or curse known to the supernatural world lies in him. I just need to know where your family crypt is." he says. I shake my head slowly.
"I couldn't help you even if I was stupid enough to, because I have no idea where it is. The Ring made sure of that." as soon as my reply comes his eyes turn a deep red, that of a vampire. "Don't vamp on me, pretty boy, I'm tellin the truth and nothing but it." I say calmly, the boredom in my voice evident.
"You're going to help me find it. If anyone can track down anything its you with your crazy ass visions and shit." he says his eyes blazing his navy blue again. I lie against the brick wall as I check my nails feigning uninterested.
"And I suppose, if I don't help, you'll bite into my pretty little neck?" I ask as I straighten and walk up to him my eyes trail up to his own.
"Look at you, Watson, you have a brain after all." he says as he walks back towards the back door calling over his shoulder, "Come on little Ash."
I sigh and roll my eyes before following him into the bar.
