The Hutchinson family were a small family of vampires awaiting their next arrival to the family. They had a daughter named Ruby who was seven years old and couldn't wait for her little brothers birth. The mothers name was Tracy while the fathers name was Dylan.

"Mum! How long until my new sibling will be here?" Ruby asked her mother.

"Soon love soon" Tracy said. 

"Yes Ruby your little brother will be coming soon" Dylan said. Tracy felt the baby kick and sighed. A couple of hours later her water broke and soon fell into labor. They called an ambulance to a monster hospital and she was rushed there while Ruby and Dylan waited hearing her screams of pain. It took Tracy a day or two in labor until he was finally born. He cried in the mother's arms and Tracy was exhausted.

"We'll clean him up for you" The werewolf nurse said. Tracy nodded. After an hour the baby was cleaned and Tracy fed him. Dylan and Ruby can't into the room and saw the newborn in her arms.

"He's adorable. What will his name be?" Dylan asked Tracy.

"Ace. I think his name should be Ace" Tracy said.

"I agree. Welcome Ace to the world" Dylan said.

"Can I hold him now?" Ruby asked sitting on the bed next to Tracy.

"Sure honey just be careful" Tracy said. Tracy handed Ace over to Ruby and she looked down at him and smiled. He looked like their mum with the dark brown hair and marrone coloured eyes. He was sleeping peacefully in her arms.

"Hi Ace I'm Ruby you're big sister. Welcome to the Hutchinson family" Ruby said softly kissing him on the forehead.

"Alright you two the mother and baby need some rest" The nurse said.

"Alright thank you. When will she be discharged?" Dylan asked.

"Within three days or so" The nurse said. Dylan nodded and he and Ruby walked out. Ace I promise you until the day I die I will protect you with all my strength! Ruby thought making a vow to herself to protect Ace at all costs.

*A few years later*
"Okay Ace stay still" Ruby said holding a camera. Ace was now five years old and running around laughing and giggling.

"Ruby! Come play with me!" Ace said.

"Hold on!" Ruby said taking a picture of Ace's bright happy face.

"Gotcha!" Ruby said smiling to herself. Ace ran to Ruby and hugged her.

"Your the best sister ever!" Ace said. Ruby giggled.

"And you're the best little brother I could ever ask for Ace" Ruby said. Ace laughed and Ruby started to cough out of nowhere and started struggling to breathe. Ace looked up at Ruby with worry.

"Ruby are you okay?" Ace asked.

"I-I'm fine... let's go back inside" Ruby said. Ace nodded and ran back to the house with Ruby slowly following behind. Her eyes were glowing red and she was sweating. She went to her room and locked the door grabbing a vile of vampire blood and drinking it to calm her hunger. Ruby sighed. Ruby has always had trouble with her hunger ever since she was a baby. She couldn't control it even if she tried. She clenched her chest in pain and gasped hoping Ace doesn't try to enter her room.

Ace can't see me like this! I would've let him down and would think of me as weak! Ruby thought to herself starting to tear up. I can't let him down!

"Ruby? Are you alright?" Tracy asked through the door.

"Y-Yes I'm fine..." Ruby coughed. Tracy used her power and unlocked the door seeing Ruby's state. She closed the door and went to her.

"Jeez your condition is getting worse. Not even the vile worked this time?" Tracy asked. Ruby shook her head. Tracy sighed.

"Looks like we won't have no choice but to try to lure a human in here for you" Tracy said. Ruby grabbed Tracy.

"N-No mum don't do that... I-I don't want to kill anyone..." Ruby said weakly. Tracy stood up.

"Ruby. This is for your own good" Tracy said giving her a serious look. Ruby looked up at her and nodded weakly. Soon she saw Ace at the door.

"Ruby. Why you crying?" Ace asked.

"I-It's nothing Ace I swear" Ruby said.

"Look Ace dear why don't you go to your room it's almost bed time" Tracy said. Ace nodded and ran to hug Ruby.

"Night Ruby" Ace said. Ruby looked down at Ace and saw his blood pulsing through his body.

"G-Goodnight Ace... I-I'll see you tomorrow okay?" Ruby said. Ace nodded and headed out of the room.

"I'll check on you later" Tracy said.

"O-Okay mum..." Ruby said. Tracy closed the door and Ruby teared up even more. She had realised that she was craving Ace's blood. She shook her head violently. No no no! I can't drink his blood! He's my brother and he's only five! I'll kill him if I do and I don't want to hurt him! Ruby cried silently to herself. Her phone soon bleeped and a message popped up from her friend Bailey.

B: Ruby hey! How are you?
R: My hunger is getting worse...
B: Oh no! What are you gonna do?
R: I don't know, but I need to do something soon before I do something I will regret...
B: Will you be at school tomorrow?
R: I'll make myself go
B: Good. I'll help you out then tomorrow.
R: With what my hunger?
B: Yeah
R: Bailey I could kill you remember?
B: Don't worry about me. It's the least I can do. After all I'm a ghoul so I'll be okay.
R: Alright then. I'll see you tomorrow then...
B: Yeah goodnight!
R: Night.

Ruby turned off her phone and passed out on her bed. Meanwhile Ace was lying in his bed his glasses on his bedside table. She thinks I don't know what's going on with her... but I know and I wanna help... but how? Ace thought slowly falling asleep in the process.
