Ally or Enemy?
"Blaire! Look!" Jaelynn rushed to me, showing me the tiger lillies she found. I was just outside the Falcon Cabin because they had a better view of the lake. The sunrise was really beautiful. "Where'd you get those?" I asked her, observing the flowers. "In the forest." She answered, still amazed by the flowers she was holding as if they were beautiful gems. "And you went there alone?" I asked as I got worried about the dream I had about Zogark. Jaelynn giggled. "Of course not silly. You guys wouldn't let me," she said. And I was pretty sure when she say 'you guys' she was referring to us boring counsellors and CITs. "Then who did you go with?" I asked, trying to tie my hair. It was a windy day, which was kind of odd. "She went with me," Bellamy said from behind her. If I didn't notice it was Bellamy, I would've diced him with my pocket knife. "Hey Jae, don't you wanna see what those flower are?" Bellamy pointed to a nearby bush. She frowned then quickly glanced at me then at Bellamy then smirked. "If you needed to talk, you could've asked," she shrugged. I let out a chuckle. "Smart kid," I said before Jaelynn ran off. "We should leave," Bellamy blurted out. I looked at him. "What?" I asked. "Jaelynn and I. We should leave camp," he said, not meeting my gaze. "What do you mean you should leave. You just got here. I know it'll take a while to adjust but-," Bellamy stopped me. "It's not that. It's not safe." He said. "Oh course it is. The bears never show up here but there are a few skunks but I don't think they have rabies," I said but Bellamy still stood his ground. "Not from bears and definitely not from skunks. I just can't tell you, okay," Bellamy said. If that's not what he meant, then what did he mean? "Then why are you telling me all this?" I shrugged. Bellamy stood in silence. "Well?" I said, impatiently. "I need you to get us out," he said. I scoffed. "Yeah right. As if I'd be crazy enough to actually do that." Bellamy sighed and stared at the horizon. "If I were you, I'd get going too," he said as he looked at his little cousin collecting some flowers in a basket. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Quite windy today. Need to get Jaelynn a coat," he said as he walked to her direction. Leaving me dumbfounded. It was oddly windy. Too windy in fact. I tried taming the wind but it was out of my control. It was as if was fighting with someone else over the power. I closed my eyes and concerntrated. I heard whispers in the wind. "Kill the boy", "leave the girl", "kill everything", "kill the guardians." The voices sounded angry. All they wanted was to kill as if it was their purpose. "Hello, Blaire Levesque. It'll be nice killing today. Once and for all!" My eyes snapped open. I felt my heart in throat, ready to jump out. The voices sounded so familiar. So venomous. It couldn't be. I looked around in search for Bellamy and Jaelynn. I couldn't find. They must've left. I felt someone shake my shoulder and calling my name. As fast as a whip, I turned around and kicked the person's gut before pushing them to the ground. I gasped after I realised who it was. "Liam, I'm so so so sorry." I knelt next to him and brushed his hair. "Better safe than sorry," he groaned, forcing a smirk through the pain. I let out a little giggle. "What's got you worked up?" He asked, trying to sit up straight. "The voices..." My voice trailed out. Liam raised a brow. "I heard her, Liam," I said, my hands starting to shake. Liam held my hands and made me look deep into his eyes. In the light, his eyes were light blue with a tinge of green. "Heard who?" He asked. I sensed the concern in his voice. I looked at the lake to try and calm down. Then I thought about Dad. He might be in trouble wherever he is. "Blaire," Liam's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "It was her. Masoumeh Tavakoli."
Somehow, I'd manage to pull Liam away from the camp. We were in the forest heading to see if Dad was okay. The wind was getting stronger by the minute. We held each other's hands for support until we arrived at the cabin. "What do you mean you heard her voice?" Liam asked for the hundredth time. "Like I said, I heard her voice in the wind. This is just a normal wind. It's too powerful, as if it's being forced here. Now come on." I knocked on the door and waited. A few minutes passed and Dad wasn't answering the door. I folded my sleeves getting ready to kick down the door. Just as I was about to, dad opened the door. "Whoa! Be careful where you're aiming that foot of yours," Dad chuckled. I fell in his arms and hugged him. "Everything alright? And why are you here in this weather?" Dad asked. I quickly glanced at Liam who shook his head. "Just wanted to check up on you, Dad. Is that a crime?" I asked. Dad ruffled my hair. "I guess not. Now go to camp quickly before you seriously get hurt in this weather," Dad said. I nodded and turned around and pulled Liam. "Be safe!" Dad shouted. "We will!" I shouted back. "Why can't I tell him?" I asked Liam. "The man has been through enough. We can't stress him any more with these type of things. This is why we're here," Liam said as he bobbed my nose. I giggled and pulled his arm harder. "Come on you goof ball," I said as we ran back to camp.
When we got there, it was awfully quiet. Too quiet. That was never a good sign. Especially in a camp filled with kids. "Come on, you fools! How is it hard to find a puny boy!" I heard someone bark. I quickly dragged Liam into a bush and we observed from a distance. I saw Zogark and two trolls behind him. But how? They couldn't come out in the daylight or else they with dwarves? But the point still stood. Creatures of Masoumeh couldn't come out in the daylight. "I guess it's because since they don't work for Masoumeh, they can roam out whenever they want," Liam said, completing reading my mind. I leaned in and gave him a peck on the lips. "This is why you're the best boyfriend. Now let's go see what he wants," I said. We both crawled through the bushes. I felt the sharp stones under my soft hands. "Stop!" Zogark shouted. Automatically Liam and I stopped. "I smell something," he said as he sniffed the air. Liam and I exchanged glances. Liam started to unsheath his sword. I don't remember seeing him carrying that. Just as Liam was about to attack, Jaelynn jumped out of nowhere. "Hey, smelly orge! Looking for me?" She yelled. "Jaelynn no!" I jumped out the bushes and saw her blowing yellow powder in the eyes of the enemies. They all crouched down and cried in pain. "What was that?" I checked Jaelynn for any injuries. "It's a little something I was dong when I was collecting flowers," she looked really proud. "There you are!" Olivia said from behind me. She tossed me my bow and quiver filled with arrows. "Took you long enough. And I finally figured out where I know Bellamy from," Olivia said. Just as I was about to ask, an arrow flew past my face and into the chest of one of the trolls. He yelped in pain before falling down. I looked at where the arrow came from and saw Bellamy holding a black bow which was a little longer than mine. "His a guardian," Olivia smirked. My eyes went wide. I knew he wasn't normal like the other campers. He was special. I turned to look at Jaelynn. "And-," I was about to ask but Jaelynn just shook her head. "Not a guardian. I just do this for fun! AAHH!" She ran and kicked the other trolls shins. The troll cried out. "Enough!" Zogark stood up straight and glared and me with bloodshot eyes. Oh boy. "You!" He growled. "Hi," I waved then I closed my eyes. I tried focusing on the wind. I tried with all my might to control the wind. I heard Zogark shout out. I opened my eyes and saw him flying away. I smiled but it didn't last long when I saw some tools from the shed flying right towards me. "Blaire, look out!" Bellamy ran and pushed me out of the way. "Are you okay?" Bellamy asked but his voice sounded so far away. I heard the voice all shouting one thing. "Die!" They kept shouting that over and over. My head started to throb. And out of the blue, I saw lightning hit a nearby tree. Somehow it didn't catch fire. I looked up. I couldn't see the sun anymore. The sky was dark. I heard thunder from a distance. "We gotta get to a safe place!" Bellamy shouted. Olivia and Liam glanced at each other and nodded. "We gotta head to Mr Levesque's cabin."
