Chapter 2
Ty's Point of View
The man ran towards a building in the distance. Ty saw him slice the head off of a Creeper on his way.
"So...what do we do now?" Adam asked.
"We stay here like he told us to," Dan replied.
"Who made you boss, newbie?" Jason retorted.
"No one. I'm just saying that it's safest to stay in here." Dan replied matter-of-factly.
"Well we don't care about safety!" Jerome exclaimed.
"Yeah! We're adventurers!" Mitch added.
"It's not like there's anything out there we need to do," Stampy said in his British accent. "So let's just stay in here."
Realization dawned on Ty. "Guys. Seto."
"What?" Dan asked, confused.
"Seto was the next bus stop, but he wasn't picked up!" Ty explained. "He could be in trouble!"
"We need to go save him!" Adam cried.
"I'm sure he's fine," Dan said. "He probably went inside when he saw the monsters."
"Knowing Seto, he's still out there, trying to kill the monsters himself," Jordan replied.
"Well, that's his own fault," Dan retorted.
"We can't just leave Seto out there to die!" Jason exclaimed. "He's our friend!"
"Yeah!" Mitch and Jerome yelled together.
"I agree with Dan," Squid said. "We're ten. What do we know about fighting monsters?"
"That's exactly why we need to save Seto! What does he know?" Ty argued.
"Seto has powers," Stampy said. "We don't."
"We do have OPness, though!" Pat exclaimed.
"OPness!" Jen chimed in.
"Okay guys, let's take a vote," Adam said. "Who votes we stay here?"
Dan, Stampy, Squid, and three of the kids who hadn't spoken raised their hands.
"And who votes we go save Seto?" Adam asked.
Jordan, Jason, Mitch, Jerome, Pat, Jen, Ty, Adam, and the other six kids who hadn't spoken raised their hands.
"Guess we're goin' to save Seto," Ty grinned.
"You guys can go. I'm staying here," Dan said stubbornly. He crossed his arms and sat down on the ground like a little kid.
Wait, they were little kids.
"Well, the rest of us are gonna go save Seto," Adam replied. "See ya around, goggles."
***
Everyone had decided to go save Seto, except for Dan and all the kids who hadn't spoken. Even Stampy and Squid decided to come help.
The ten kids found the child-sized armor. It was only leather, but it was better than nothing. They suited up, except for Adam, who had his gold armor. The kids all took iron swords. Ty wanted to take a diamond one, but Jordan talked him out of it. Apparently it was "too dangerous for a ten year old".
The kids stepped out of the Mojang Training Center and looked around.
There weren't as many monsters anymore, but there were still some. Seto lived farther down the street, but they couldn't see him from where they were.
"Let's go!" Adam whispered. "Try not to let any mobs see you!"
"Then what did we get the weapons for?" Jerome mumbled. Mitch punched him in the shoulder.
The ten kids crept down the sidewalk. The monsters that were on the street were either roaming around or going towards Main Street. None of them seemed to notice the kids.
Except one.
A Zombie had been wandering around near a building across the street. Ty noticed that even though it didn't have a helmet, it wasn't burning in the sunlight.
The Zombie spotted them and ambled its way over to them. The kids had plenty of time to prepare themselves, since it was so slow.
As the Zombie came closer, Ty noticed something else odd about it. It had glowing red eyes.
Ty supposed that all the monsters had red eyes. That probably meant something. He just didn't know what.
"I got this one, guys," Adam said. He had his gold sword out and ready. The other kids stepped back.
When the Zombie was close enough, Adam swung his gold sword at it. It collided with the Zombie's midsection, and it was thrown back a few blocks. But, it wasn't dead, and kept coming.
Adam did it again. And again. Finally, on his fourth time hitting it, the Zombie died.
"OP!" Pat yelled.
"Nice one," Jason said.
"I've never killed a monster in my entire life," Adam said. "Until now. And it felt good."
The kids laughed, and continued to where Seto lived.
They didn't encounter any more monsters until they reached Seto's bus stop. Seto wasn't there, but there were a few Spiders.
The Spiders noticed the kids and started scurrying towards them. There were three of them.
"I thought Spiders only attacked at night?" Jen asked.
"These ones are different," Jordan yelled. One of the Spiders was going for him, one was going for Mitch, and the last one was going for Ty.
Ty readied his iron sword. The Spider leapt at him, and Ty swung. He wasn't expecting the sword to be as heavy as it was, and he was too slow to hit the Spider.
The Spider knocked Ty down and tried biting him. Ty had leather armor on, so the bite didn't go through.
"Get off!" Ty yelled. He tried pushing the Spider off him, but it kept trying to bite him.
Finally, someone pushed it off him and stabbed it in the gut. It was Adam.
Adam held his hand out. Ty took it, and Adam pulled him to his feet.
"Thanks," Ty said, a little embarrassed. He noticed that Jordan had killed his Spider, and Mitch and Jerome stabbed their Spider together, killing it.
"No problem, buddy," Adam replied.
Ty didn't really like the way Adam said that to him. He made it sound like Ty was weak.
"So where's Seto?" Stampy asked, looking around.
"I have no idea," Adam replied. "But this is his bus stop, right?"
"Yeah, it is," Jason answered.
"Well, if he saw monsters attacking the city, he wouldn't stay outside, right?" Squid asked. "He would go somewhere safe."
"I dunno, he might still be out here somewhere," Jordan replied. "Let's look around."
There were no monsters in their immediate area. The kids split up and looked around the street.
Ty walked the farthest down the street that Seto's bus stop was on. He turned a corner just to give it a quick glance, but saw something interesting.
There was a collapsed building. A single Skeleton stood just outside of it, shooting at something in the rubble. Whatever it was shooting at, it kept missing.
Ty stepped a little closer. What was wrong with this Skeleton?
Suddenly, a purple fire ball flew out from the rubble of the building, hitting the Skeleton. Its bones scattered as it died.
Ty knew those purple flames. He strode over to the rubble.
"Seto? It's me, Ty," Ty called. He still wasn't sure where exactly Seto was.
Something small, purple, and silver moved out from below a large piece of the collapsed building.
Seto stared at Ty for a second. He wore mostly silver clothes, with a pattern of purple, red, and white on it. He had brown eyes, and a purple and white hat that covered all of his hair.
"Ty!" Seto exclaimed. He ran over and hugged Ty.
"You're alive!" Ty said happily.
"Yeah! I almost died a bunch of times, though," Seto replied, still hugging Ty.
Ty stepped back, forcing Seto to let go. "Well come on! The others are searching for you too. We gotta get back to shelter."
The two of them went back around the corner, where everyone was still searching.
"Guys! I found him!" Ty shouted.
The others looked over and cheered. They all ran over to Seto, asking how he was and what he did.
Ty was grinning with everyone else. Then he heard a noise.
Ty turned around and gasped. Coming from where he and Seto had been earlier, was a hoard of monsters. Zombies, Skeletons, Endermen, Slimes, Spiders, and Creepers marched their way. There were about 20 monsters in all.
"Guys! Run!" Ty exclaimed, running back in the direction of Mojang Training Center.
He heard shouts of panic and fear and the sounds of the other kids following him. They ran as fast as they could until they arrived back at the Training Center.
The kids burst inside the room. The monsters were far behind, but still coming after them.
Ty looked around the room. No one was there, except Dan.
"Where did the others go?" Ty asked.
"All their parents came and got them. Mine didn't," Dan replied bitterly.
"Did any of our parents come by?" Jordan asked.
"Nope," Dan replied. "Everyone who came by took one of the other kids. No one said their kid was missing."
Ty wondered where his parents were. They would've been at work when the monsters attacked. Were they still alive?
"Well, we can't worry about our parents right now. There's a huge army of monsters coming," Adam said.
"Coming here?!" Dan squeaked.
"Yep," Jordan replied. "You might want to suit up."
Dan nodded and started putting on some leather armor.
The kids waited. Some of them conversed quietly. Most were silent. They might not all survive after the battle that was about to happen.
Ty walked over to the diamond sword he had picked up earlier. No one was looking at him, so he took it, and put down the iron one.
Ty had a feeling nobody would be needing this sword after what was about to happen.
"Here they come," Stampy said nervously.
The monsters were almost at the door of the building. It was a double iron door, and the monsters would have to break that down first.
Adam, Mitch, Jerome, and Jordan looked defiant. The rest of the kids just looked nervous.
The monsters reached the doors. A few Zombies started trying to break it down. It was working, but very slowly.
"If I don't make it out of this," Jason spoke up. "I want you guys to know you're my best friends."
Nobody replied, but everyone nodded in agreement. Ty was scared of that comment, because it meant that they might not all survive.
I want to go home.
Suddenly, the Zombies stopped trying to break down the door. Ty was about to cheer, but then a Creeper stepped forward.
It blew a big hole where the doors and part of the windows had been.
Then the monsters started coming through the hole, and attacked.
A Zombie came towards Ty. He gulped, but sliced at it with his diamond sword. It was heavier than he expected, and he barely hit the monster.
The Zombie kept coming, and managed to hit Ty once. Ty stumbled back, shocked and hurt. He swung the diamond sword again, hitting the Zombie in the chest. It was sent back a little, then kept coming.
Ty dodged its attack and swung the sword one more time. He hit the Zombie, killing it.
Then, Ty heard a hissing noise behind him.
Before he could turn around, an explosion sent him flying forward. His headset was knocked off as he flew, but he didn't know where it went. He hit the ground near the nonexistent door. There weren't any more monsters over there; they had all gone inside.
Everything hurt. His legs, his arms, his body, his head. Everything.
Suddenly, Adam was in front of him, holding a hand out and yelling.
"There's too many of them! We gotta get out of here!"
Ty took his hand and allowed himself to be pulled to his feet. Adam pulled him out the hole where the door had been, following the other ten kids.
They ran away from Mojang Training Center.
