I'm writing this because I want to give you guys a look on what the monster ecology chapters might look like if I did write more of them.

Today the sun was shining bright, shining down on the desert below and making it a bit hotter than normal. A black diablos emerged from her den, looking around before starting to walk in search of food, or a monster that wandered into her territory.

Although classified as a subspecies, a black diablos is actually a normal female diablos that's in heat. When a female diablos goes into heat, her scales change to black as a way of warning other monsters to stay away, as she becomes much more aggressive when in heat, even going as far as to attack any large monsters that enter her territory.

The black diablos sniffed the air as she walked, small herbivores such as kelbi and small carnivores such as cephalos fleeing as she approached to avoid being attacked. She continued walking until she came across a patch of cacti, leaning down and starting to eat some of the cacti.

She continued eating before she suddenly stopped, lifting her head up before sniffing the air and letting out a growl, smelling another monster in her territory. She turned to where the smell was coming from and dug underground, going to where she smelled it. She jumped out of the ground when she was close to the scent, spotting a diablos.

She growled at the sight of the male in her territory, letting out a roar as the male turned and looked at her, roaring in response. The black diablos quickly charged at the diablos, who did the same. The two of them but heads, none of them going easy on the other.

The black diablos started to push harder, pushing the diablos back a bit as the male scrambled for a hold to avoid being pushed back. This continued for a few minutes before the black diablos managed to push the diablos back, the diablos letting out a roar as he got knocked down onto his back.

The black diablos roared and quickly attacked the diablos with her horns, trying to gore him. The diablos tried to get up and fight back, but was unable to as the black diablos was already on top of him. In only a few moments, the diablos was silent and still, a large gash in his stomach.

The black diablos let ot a victorious roar, lifting her head up as she stood on top of her deceased opponent. After a moment she started walking away, no intrest in eating her kill as she, like all other diablos and black diablos, was an herbivore. She dug underground once again, going back over to the cacti she found earlier before going back to eating them.

The black diablos had, once again, successfully defended her territory and claimed another life of another monster.

This is my first time writing something like this, so I'm sorry if it's not the best.
