Rainbow stared up at the ceiling, lost in thought. The pale white paint was getting her dizzy but she kept staring. It got her mind off the situation at hand. Applejack was sitting across the room at Rainbow's desk, writing something. Rainbow hadn't bothered to ask what. She wasn't even sure Applejack knew she was awake.

Rainbow sighed quietly.

"You okay??".

Rainbow jumped. She turned her head and looked at Applejack. The hunter was looking at her, one eyebrow raised questioningly.

"You scared me", Rainbow said, sitting up. "I didn't know you knew I was awake".

Applejack got up from the chair. She walked across the large bedroom and approached the blue colored bed. She sat down beside Rainbow.

"You alright, sugar cube??", she asked once more, concern evident in her voice.

Rainbow nodded and grinned. "I am now".

Applejack gave her a look. "Don't lie ta me".

Rainbow's expression fell to one of worry and fear.

"I'm just worried about my parents", she said. "What if they won't get better and it's too late to save them?? What if they're really really sick?? What if they die??".

"RD, cmon now", Applejack said, reaching out and taking one of Rainbow's hands in her own.

She felt the electricity shoot through her arm. Even now she got this way when touching Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow looked away, chewing on her bottom lip in a nervous habit. Applejack looked at her for moment, studying her face. Then she spoke quietly.

"Rainbow. Look at me please".

Applejack reached out and softly gripped Rainbow's chin and raised her head so they made eye contact.

"They're gonna be just fine, baby. Okay??. Ah just know it".

"But there's always a possibility", Rainbow argued. "You saw how they are".

Applejack knew the king and queen were extremely ill. But she had to keep Rainbow positive. The girl had been through enough in the past couple of months. She didn't need more stress and worry. That'll probably make her just as sick as her parents or even worse.

"It's gonna be alright", she said. "And if it's not okay, you won't be alone. You'll have me ta help you through it. It won't the end of the world, Rainbow. Ah promise".

Rainbow sighed, her shoulders slouching. "I hope you're right, AJ".

Applejack smiled softly. "C'mon. Let's go get something ta eat".

"I'm not hungry", Rainbow said, looking away.

Applejack frowned. Nope. This was not happening.

"Babe", she said. "Ya have ta eat somethin'. Ya can't not eat anything. Ah'll go get you somethin".

Suddenly the bedroom door opened. Rainbow and Applause looked over at the door. Flash Sentry walked in.

"Your highness", he said, bowing.

Rainbow and Applejack stood up.

"Yeah??", Rainbow said.

"Your parents would like to see you", Flash said said, a sad smile on his face.

Rainbow looked at Applejack in fear. Applejack took her hand, gripping it firmly.

"Ah'll be right there with ya", Applejack promised.

Rainbow nodded. She and Applejack followed Flash out of her room and down the hall to her parents' room. They entered to see Professor Booksmart attending to her parents. Twilight and Pinkie Pie were assisting him.

Rainbow and AJ stood there, watching.

"Professor", Rainbow called.

Professor Booksmart looked up at the sound of his name. He stood up and bowed. The girls and the king and queen also looked up at them.

"Your highness", Professor Booksmart greeted. "Please, come in".

Rainbow and Applejack slowly walked up to the small group. Flash stayed at the door.

Rainbow looked at her parents. They both looked exhausted and looked like they'd die any minute. The sight nearly brought tears to Rainbow's eyes but she stayed strong.

"So........".

Eden wordlessly invited Rainbow to sit down beside her.

"Well", she said. "Professor Booksmart has finally had a breakthrough and he found out the illness we have".

She smiled. "It won't kill us. We're going to be fine. He gave us the proper medicine and we just need a lot of rest for a few days, and then walking to get back our lost strength from being bedridden once we're able to get up on our own. He said we should recover in time".

A smile broke out on Rainbow's face. She was so relieved to hear those words.

"Really??".

Tears of relief ran down her cheeks. Eden laughed lightly. She pulled her daughter in for a hug. Rainbow buried her face in her mom's dress, taking in every second of the moment. She began to sob quietly tears of joy. Her parents comforted her.

"It's alright, my dear", King Lightning soothed, stroking Rainbow's hair.

"Everything is going to be alright".

Rainbow nodded, pulling away. She sniffled, looking at her parents.

"Sorry", she said, wiping her eyes. "I'm not crying. I just um..... have something in my eyes".

She cleared her throat and looked away, trying to play off the display of intense emotion. Everyone smiled.

Rainbow looked at Professor Booksmart.

"Are they really gonna recover??", she asked, wanting to hear it from the expert himself.

Professor Booksmart smiled and nodded.

"Yes, indeed, princess", he assured. "They'll be just fine in a month or two. Maybe three at the most".

Rainbow looked at Applejack, practically beaming. She climbed off the bed and all but jumped on her. Applejack reacted quickly and caught Rainbow Dash in her arms. Rainbow locked her arms around Applejack's neck, smiling widely at her.

"Did you hear that, AJ??. They're gonna be okay".

Applejack giggled. "Yeah. Ah heard".

She grinned, putting Rainbow down on her feet.

"See??. Ah told you they'd be okay".

Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Yeah well I was worried, okay??. Worst case scenario comes to mind when I get worried and you know that".

Applejack laughed. She rested her hands on Rainbow's waist.

"Ah know. But the important thing is that everything is okay now".

"Yeah", Rainbow said. "Thank you, Applejack. For everything".

Rainbow looked over at Twilight and Pinkie.

"Thank you all so much. You've done so much for us and our kingdom. You've saved us all".

Rainbow looked around Applejack and looked at Flash who was standing by he door.

"You too, Flash", she said, getting he guard's attention.

Flash looked at her and smiled gently.

"You brought my friends and parents where the other fairies and I were being kept. They wouldn't have been able to find us if it weren't for you. Thank you".

Rainbow backed away, holding Applejack's hands, looking up at her.

"Tell me how I can repay you all, even though I know I can't".

"Rainbow", Twilight said. "Just knowing that you, your parents, and all the fairies of Avalen, are safe is enough of a reward".

Pinkie and Flash nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. And we got to go on an adventure and saved Avalen and our world", Pinkie said, hopping up and down in an excited manner. "Nothing is cooler than that".

"But still", Rainbow said. "How can I reward you guys??. Name it. Anything you want is yours. Up to part of the kingdom if that's what you want. We can even name you official princesses".

Pinkie and Twilight stood up. They walked up to the Rainbow and Applejack.

"Rainbow", Twilight said. "No thank you".

"Actually", Applejack spoke up. "There is one thing".

Everyone looked at Applejack who was smirking at Rainbow Dash.

"What is it??", Rainbow asked. "Whatever you want, I'll give it to you".

"Oh it ain't somethin' you could give me", Applejack said.

She looked over at the king and queen.

"Only they can".

Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, Twilight, Flash, and Professor Booksmart looked over at the king and queen.

King Lightning and Queen Eden looked at each other, obviously curious as to what Applejack had in mind.

The king looked at AJ and motioned for Applejack to come to them. Applejack walked over to the bed.

Pinkie, Twilight, and Professor Booksmart walked over to Rainbow Dash, to give Rainbow's parents and Applejack some privacy to talk.

"Rainbow", Twilight said.

"Are you sure you're feeling alright today??".

Rainbow looked at her friend and smiled.

"Yeah. I'm feeling great. A little sore from sleeping in a bed for the first time in months, but I'll be fine".

Rainbow glanced over at Applejack and her parents. Her mom and dad were hugging Applejack, smiling. Rainbow was now curious.

What did Applejack tell them?? Why were they so happy??

Applejack stood up and looked at Rainbow.

She walked up to her, a smile on her face. Rainbow raised an eyebrow, silently asking what was going on.

Applejack stood in front of her for a moment, smiling. A few silent seconds passed.

"Well??", Rainbow said, breaking the silence. "Why are you looking at me like a creep??".

Applejack laughed. She held out a small box. The box was white and small with a gold lining around it.

"Here".

Rainbow took the box. She examined it. The soft texture of the box gave away that it was velvet. It was soft to the touch.

"For me??".

She looked up to see AJ nodding. Rainbow smiled and opened the box. She looked down and gasped quietly.

Inside was a golden ring. The metal shone in the sunlight. It seemed to make the ring sparkle, almost magically. Rainbow smiled and looked at Applejack.

"Applejack.....".

Applejack took the box from her. She got down on one knee.

"Rainbow. From the moment ah first saw ya, ah knew you special. Of course, at the time, ah didn't how special until me and mah friends discovered who or what you are and ah knew mah life would never be the same".

She giggled. "And ah was right. You completely turned mah world inside out and changed everythin' ah knew. Ah've seen so many things n' met so many new people since comin' to Avalen. Both good and bad".

Applejack's eyes shifted away before landing back on Rainbow.

"But the best part of it all was meeting you".

Rainbow blushed, looking away, trying not to seem too embarrassed. She tried to keep her smile under control but was having trouble.

"You mean that??", she asked.

"Absolutely", Applejack said. "Ah still remember the day you were caught in mah animal trap. You were as beautiful as you are right now and you're still gettin' yirself inta sticky situations".

Rainbow laughed. "Yeah. I-I guess".

Applejack shrugged. "Danger and trouble is attracted to ya. Which gives me another reason ta stick around. Ah need ta protect you. I promised yir father months ago that I'd always be there to protect you and save you if ever get yirself into a bad situation and ah think ah kept that promise".

Rainbow grinned. "Yeah. I guess you did a pretty good job at saving me, not that I needed it".

Applejack raised an eyebrow, smirking.

"Uh-huh".

She shrugged. "That's not the point. The point is that ah love you, Rainbow Dash. You're a little pain in my side, but you're my pain. Ah wouldn't trade you for the world and ah wanna stay here with you and spend the rest of mah life with you".

Rainbow frowned. "What about yir life back in the human world??. Won't you be missed??".

"Nope", Applejack said. "We'll think of somethin".

Applejack but her lip, nerves jumbling up inside her.

"So will you marry me??".

Rainbow smiled brightly. She nodded her head so fast Applejack thought she might snap her neck. Applejack let out a breath of relief.

She stood up. Taking Rainbow's left hand, she slipped on the gold ring. She was nearly tackled by Rainbow when she jumped on her for the second time in ten minutes, Applejack barely having enough time to catch her and hold her up. Rainbow held on to her, Applejack lifting her up off the ground, her strong arms around her waist.

"Of course I'll marry you", Rainbow squealed.

Applejack hugged her, glad that that was done and taken care off. Rainbow suddenly pulled away.

"I mean um...".

Rainbow crossed her arms and looked away.

"Yeah. Sure, I'll marry you. I guess it won't be so bad".

Applejack lightly punched her arm, making Rainbow giggle. She took Rainbow by the arms and pulled her close to her. Rainbow wrapped her arms around her neck loosely, resting her arms on Applejack's shoulders.

"You're annoying", Applejack said.

Rainbow cocked her head to the side and winked.

"But you love me".

Applejack giggled. The two touched foreheads, staring into each-other's eyes lovingly.

"Yeah", Applejack whispered.

She pressed her lips against Rainbow's. Rainbow Dash kissed back, slowly caressing Applejack's face with her hands.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash broke apart, looking into each other's eyes.

"Ah love you, princess pain in mah behind", Applejack said.

Rainbow smirked. "I love you too, Knight bane in my existence".

"You two were made for each other".

Rainbow Dash and Applejack turned their heads to look at Pinkie and Twilight.

They looked back at one another.

"I guess we are", Rainbow Dash said, looking at her future wife. "I guess we are".
