Chapter Ten: Cured

I had gotten up from the floor and rushed out of the locker room, but as I entered the hallway. I hear someone's heart beating really fast, their blood rushing through their veins. The pumping of their hear made their blood flow faster, but I took a deep sniff in the air, and a scent that I know too well had entered...

"Stiles," I whispered to myself, as I pushed off on my legs and vamp-sped to the source. Everything around me was a blur, until I came to a halt at boys locker room door, seeing Stiles standing there with a gun pointed to his head, and the teacher who was at the exam was holding it.

"Two..." he was counting to three, he's trying to get paid. I didn't consider the effects, I vamp-sped over and came behind the teacher and snapped his neck, making him fall to the floor. It happened so fast that he couldn't get a shot off. I see Stiles reopen his eyes as tears ran down his face.

"Oh God, Stiles, are you ok?" I had asked as I stepped over the body and crushed him into a hug, as he embrace me back.

"No thanks to you. Where you been?" Stiles rushes out, as we both pull back from the hug.

"There's an antidote, in the vault. Reishi mushrooms, it's on one of the shelves in a glass jar," I quickly spoke out, as we had no time in discussing this. I grabbed hold of him and vamp-sped out of the locker room and to the basement.

We arrived in seconds, as I let go of him as we had stopped. "Whoa, that was cool," Stiles states to himself, but I heard him, but he rushes down the hallway, as I followed him. Within moments, we were at the location of the entrance of the vault. I see an outline of the triskelion and a rounded panel on the wall.

"Hey, Scott? Scott?" Stiles yells through the wall, hoping Scott would hear us. "In the vault, in there with you. It's called reishi mushrooms... Scott!" Stiles screams through the wall, but we didn't get a reply. "Scott, open the door!" Stiles bangs on the wall, but it wouldn't open. Stiles turns to look at me, which I was at the side of him. "Can't you use your magic?" His eyes pleading as our friends might die.

I placed my hand flat on the door, as I was feeling something. It was a type of magic causing through the whole vault. "No, I can't. And punching it won't do any good," I had replied as I dropped my hand from the wall. "Scott, listen! The reishi mushrooms are in a jar on one of the shelves!" I yell through the wall, hoping it would reach him. "Scott!" I yelled as I banged on the wall, Stiles doing the same. But we couldn't do much, by the time I would have punched through the wall, they would be dead...

Stiles slides down the wall as all hope was, I sigh deeply as this wasn't good and I felt hopeless. Within moments, I could hear shuffling inside the vault, and then glass smashing. After a few moments later, the door to the vault began to open, and Stiles shuffled back as I did the same and once it was opened enough, Scott stumbles out of the vault, panting heavily.

"Scott!" I state with glee in my tone, as I crouch in front of him. His head flicked up, his eyes gazing over Stiles and I. We were both relived that they were all safe. I crush Scott into a hug as I was giving them out near enough all day, but he hugs me back. "I'll go find the Sheriff," I state to them, as I pulled back from the hug.

I rushed off down the corridor, and back where the entrance of the basement door is. As I come into the hallway of the school, I see people leaving the school as it was now safe to leave. But I see Lydia and her Mom hugging one another, and Sheriff behind them.

"Sheriff!" I shout down the hallway, as her turns his gaze to me, he rushes down the hall.

"Where's Stiles? Scott?" He rushes out as he neared me.

"They're safe," I replied quickly to ease his thoughts of dread, but everything was ok. He sighs with relief as it was good news. "I also wanted to say that I'm sorry. About what I've done and did, I know you will never look at me the same, but I hope you understand this. That I will always protect Stiles, Scott and all my friends because they mean the world to me," I state to the Sheriff as his gaze went soft as he knew that the words I spoke were true. He gives me a wide smile, as out of no where he crushes me into a hug, but it was like a fatherly one.

"People make mistakes," he states to me as he pulls back from the hug.

"And I made a big one," I chuckled at the situation, but he gives a smile. "But all I can do is say sorry for the pain I've caused my friends," he nods as he agrees with my statement as it's all I can do. "With that said. Excuse me," I walk down the hallway, as my boots clicked on the marble flooring, as I have Lydia in my sights and she's talking with her Mother.

"Lydia," I has said smoothly, as she turns to look at me, as well as her mother.

"I'll leave you two," Ms. Martin states as she had no clue of the supernatural world. She walks towards the Sheriff to give him a brief overview of this.

"I just want to say I'm sorry about what I've said and done, that's not me. It was emotionless me," I had began, as she listens to what I have to say. "When Allison died, I had snapped and the only way I thought I could cope was to turn it off, to not feel anything. But I was wrong to do so, because I now know that my friends will be there for me no matter what," I had said softly, as I held my hands out for her to take, to know that she still cares for me as a friend that we were still best friends.

She took a moment to process what I had said, but her facial expression was soft and she looked like she was going to cave in. "I understand why you did it," Lydia had caved in and took my hands in hers and we began to sway them side to side slightly. "And I forgive you," she states, as she pulls my hands behind her as she crushes me into a loving hug.

"Thank you, Lydia," my voice was serious with her comments, but there was someone who I should apologise more too than Lydia and that was Derek...

...............................

I had texted Derek asking him if I could speak to him in his loft, as I owe him a really big apology. I sit on the table in the loft, as I was waiting for Derek to arrive. But I was nervous, my stomach was doing flips and turns, and I felt like I was going to vomit. Suddenly, I hear heavy footsteps outside of the door, and within seconds it was opened, to reveal Derek, who stares at me with a soft gaze, as he shuts the door.

"You wanted to see me?" Derek states, as he comes down the steps of the stairs.

"Yeah, I wanted to talk," I state as I jump off the table, and walk towards him before standing in front, his eyes casting over mine as they were so beautiful to look at right now. "I want to say that I'm so sorry, from the bottom of my heart about what I've done to you, Derek," my tone was serious and clear to him, he was quite as he was processing my words. "I know I can't take it back and I don't think you will ever forgive me," my words had got lost as the idea of losing Derek as a friend or maybe more than a friend would tear me up inside...

"I know you're sorry, Alice. And I meant every word I spoke to you in the clinic," Derek's words were soft as he did mean it. I gave him a soft smile, as he was kind and caring.

"I guess you're nice after all," I had joked with him as he cracks a wide smile and a deep chuckle. "We've both come along way I suppose," I had said, reflecting on the first time we had met each-other and he was a bit of a dick.

"Some more than others," he had joked back at me, making me pull a shocked-jokey face at him.

"Not my fault," I retorted back at him, before laughing to myself softly, as I have come along way. "You know what's the best part of living this long?" I had asked him, as my tone was serious. "Meeting Scott, Stiles, Allison, Lydia... And you," I had railed off the list of friends who me so much to me. He smiles genuinely, as he knows I mean it.

Before I know it, he leans in and crushes me into a loving, gentle hug... I was hoping for a kiss, but I guess we aren't there yet... But the hug will do. As we continued to hug, I could smell fresh blood of sorts, and it was strong. Though my blood lust was under-control now, I held worry for Derek.

"Are you hurt, Derek?" I can feel him tenses up, slightly with the question I asked. We pull back after I had spoken the question as I gave him the stare of truth - just a normal stare really...

"No..." He replied, holding out the 'No' a bit too long for my liking. But I crossed my arms over my chest, as I gave him a 'really' look. "Fine," he caved in, as he lifts his purpley-top up, far enough for me to see a wound on his body, it was like something had grazed him. "It'll heal," he states as he lets go of the material and the shirt falls back into place.

"Good. I don't want you dying on me," I state to him, half-joking, half-serious. "If you need me for anything just call or text," I state as I'm offering my assistance to him if he wants it.

"I will do," he replied as I smiled thinly at him, before I lean forward and kiss his cheek, my lips pressed against his stumble, the hair on him was truly amazing. Like my man hairy... The peck on his cheek finished as I pulled back as I think that's all the action I'm getting tonight... I didn't make eye contact with him as I walk pass him. With a few more steps, I went into vamp-speed and opened the door to the loft at a supernatural speed before running out.

My heart was filled with love and joy...
