Orgin Stories

That's how you came to be sitting in a cage in a shed with your old best friend watching you as if you were prey. Let's face it. In his eyes, you were. His phalanges repeatedly tapped on the metal of his axe, creating an eerie ring with each tap. It kept you on edge. You thought to try and get Sans to remember you, but the last time didn't work out so well, so you kept your mouth shut. At some point it became a staring contest... you thought. You stared into his red eye, pleading silently for him to remember you. He returned your stare with a blank expression. He clearly didn't care. It didn't end until Papyrus called him to dinner. Right... Sans and Papyrus were cannibals now, too. Though they seemed a tad more... civil about it then the Froggit. You honestly weren't sure which was worse. Your eyes followed as Sans heaved himself up onto his feet and left you alone. There ring faded to nothing. You looked to your backpack on the other side of the shed, far away from you. They weren't the only hungry ones. You wanted a granola bar or trail mix at least.

Sans came back after awhile and the ringing started anew. "S-Sans." The stutter was actually more due to cold than fear. He snapped into focus, rather than that blank stare that he's been giving you. "M-my bag. It h-has f-food." He gave a rumbling hum as his eye glided over to the [F/C], [F/S] backpack. After a moment of staring, he abandoned his axe and went to it, unceremoniously ripping open the already beaten up item and spilling its contents everywhere. He seemed to be taking note of your preparedness with your clothing for Snowdin and Hotland. He rumbled again as he picked out your snacks. You thought for sure he was going to eat everything than and there as he stared hungerly at the food. Instead, he threw the half eaten granola bar at you and pocketed the rest, going back to his spot. "Y-you're... f-feeding me.." You grabbed the granola bar. "the fatter you are, the better for papyrus." He replied bluntly. You bit off the bar. So this was him taking care of his brother. That was... oddly comforting.

You tried to keep sleep to a minimum. You didn't want to fall asleep and never wake up before you froze to death. Sans was taking note of this as well, counting how many taps before you woke up again. You always woke up between 300 to 600 taps. That mean you woke up every 5 to 10 minutes after you fell asleep. Taking this into account with the fact that you couldn't really move, that gave him the advantage. At least for now. Starvation would catch up, and that fat you'd be storing from the lack of rest and exercise would be burned to keep your body functioning. If his brother was going to eat good, they'd have to kill you soon. And Sans would have to make your portions last. That was going to be a difficult thing to do. The skeleton started tapping again. Of course there was always the chance of getting you to eat your own kind, but food was already tight. Sans wasn't sure if he wanted to waste it on some human that though she knew him. His sockets became half lidded. Right. Then there was that.

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Sans was way deep into his thoughts. You recognized that expression anywhere. You wouldn't be able to ask questions and get answers even if you wanted to. You were a bit stuck to be able to. When you were kids you would shake him until he snapped out of it. You smiled a little at the countless times you've had to do that. Oh how you longed to go back to the old days when the C.O.R.E was functioning and Sans wasn't a cannibal and remembered you. You could imagine Sans as a prankster that did everything in his power to annoy Papyrus, but was a good and protective big brother. Papyrus, you could imagine, would be an optimistic Cinnamon roll who couldn't harm a soul even if he tried. Alas though, you were here with two cannibalistic brothers and- wait where's Gaster? You thought to ask, but then you remembered that he was gone. Not in reality and still deep in his thoughts. There was no point. If you haven't seen him thus far, three main possibilities popped in your head. One, he was dead. Two, he was trying to repair the C.O.R.E and something happened. Three, he was insane and cannibalistic as well and hasn't shown himself yet.

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

"SANS, I'LL GUARD THE HUMAN FOR NOW. GO REST." You yawned and opened your eyes as Sans stood up and left. You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes as Papyrus crouched in Sans place. The younger regarded you with curiosity though. "... THE HUMAN OF SNOWDIN." You sat up nearly hitting your head on the metal bars. Papyrus knew you?! But he was just a baby! "IT WAS A BEDTIME STORY SANS WOULD TELL ME AS A CHILD, BEFORE..." Papyrus gestured to his head. "HE WOULD SPEAK OF THE LITTLE GIRL WITH [H/C] HAIR AND [E/C] EYES WHO WAS HIS FIRST AND ONLY FRIEND. HE SAID THAT HE'D MADE HER A PROMISE, AND HAD TO KEEP IT." You blinked. "He did..?" Papyrus chuckled, it didn't sound terrifying. "HE SAID YOU WERE VERY SICK WHEN HE MADE IT, SO YOU PROBABLY DON'T REMEMBER. WHEN UNDYNE DID THAT TO HIM, HE STOPPED TALKING ABOUT YOU. STOPPED TELLING ME THE STORY. IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT FISH-" He growled lowly, "MESSED WITH THOSE MEMORIES. AND THE FAMINE ISN’T HELPING... BUT MAYBE YOU CAN."
