Claim of the Throne
The Snowdin monsters took care of the former Queen's remains while Sans and Papyrus returned home to reassure you that everything was ok. "we're back sug- where's [Y/N]?" Sans narrowed his eye at Aliza who realized that you being MIA made her look bad. "B-bathroom.." she stuttered quickly, back pressing against the torn sofa in an attempt to get away from the dangerous Skeleton. Sans paid her no more mind as he immediately set his attention to the bathroom. He hesitantly knocked on the door. "Give me a minute!" You called out, making him sigh in relief. "we're back. was wondering if you wanted to come with pap and i to the fields and start tending to any growing crops. you can't go much longer without food." He pointed out. "You know what, sure. You need to fill me in anyway." You replied from inside the bathroom. Sans gave a nod and left you to finish whatever the hell you were doing. "pap, brat, coming with us to waterfall's fields?" Papyrus perked immediately. "OH YES, THOSE MUST BE TENDED TO SO EVERYONE CAN EAT!" Aliza nodded nervously. You exited the bathroom and joined the others in the living room.

"So what happened with Undyne? You obviously won, but how? Did the others fight with you? Was anyone hurt?" You asked as you all headed out the door and into a shockly active Snowdin. There was plenty of monsters you recognized and plenty of monsters you'd never met, but all their gazes were directed towards you. "It's the Child of Snowdin."
"She isn't a child anymore.."
"Wow, so that human saved the Underground?"
"The Human of Snowdin is with child!"
"Praise to the Human of Snowdin!" Sans nudged you along as you stared in shock at the monsters now praising you. You weren't exactly expecting... this. "UNDYNE WAS KILLED, HER REMAINS DUMPED SOMEWHERE IN THE WOODS- OR SO I WAS TOLD. EVERYONE WORKED TOGETHER TO PROTECT YOU, [Y/N], AND YES... THERE WERE SOME CASUALTIES ASIDE FROM UNDYNE." Papyrus answered your questions to try and distract you from the cheering monsters. "NOW WE NEED A NEW MONARCH, AND I THINK THEY WANT YOU TO BE IT." You paled at the thought of leading monsters and Sans changed the subject before you could dwell on it to much.

You entered the ever brightening Waterfall as Sans muttered on about how far along you probably were. His guess was between three and four months. You looked up eagerly, gasping and shaking Sans arm. "They're glowing, Shorty, they're glowing! Not very brightly, but they're still glowing!!!" He grinned wide at your excitement and looked up with you. Aliza had never seen Waterfall like this, so they were pretty excited to see a hint of Waterfall's former beauty as well. Papyrus gave you guys a few minutes before you had to get back to business. "WE CAN STARE LATER, YOU THREE, THAT BABY NEEDS FOOD FIRST." You grinned sheepishly and agreed. You all kept going, deeper into tunnels you didn't recognize until you ended up rounding into a cavern filled with rows and rows of different crops. "EVERYONE GRAB A BASKET AND GATHER AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! WE WILL EAT WONDERFULLY TONIGHT!" You were surprised at how well Papyrus was taking charge, it gave you an idea on who the real monarch should be, because you wouldn't be able to handle that sort of pressure. You grabbed a basket for your goodies and followed him to the fields.

You all carried baskets of fresh monster produce, Sans was taking two to the capital and Hotland to show those monsters that food was growing again. You left yours in Waterfall for those monsters to see and Aliza had to bring theirs to Grillby's to feed the rest of the town. Papyrus was stalking the house and making dinner tonight which left you to talk you him and your 'subjects' about the new ruler. As you broke through the fog and Aliza skittered past the monsters, they stared at the basket of food. "The Human of Snowdin feeds us?"
"Praise! Praise the Human!"
"No!" They silenced at the sharp word that cut through the air. "I mean, yes, the food is yours, but the idea was not mine. I am not fit to rule you, I think the one that rules your species is someone that can understand you." A orange monster with horns and xed out eyes tilted its head. "Who do you suggest?" You turned to Papyrus. "Papyrus, would you be willing to take up the throne as monarch of the Underground?" The Skeletons sockets bulged comically.

"I made your brother the king." Sans dropped his axe. "what?" You fidgeted in place. "He's sweet and good with people and takes charge, I really think he can do it, Sans. I don't know about you, but I don't wanna be in charge, I don't think I could handle that responsibility. If he needs help, it's not like he's alone. We'd be there to help him through it." You explained yourself. Sans sighed heavily. "if we could talk about it first, that would have been great, [Y/N]" He growled, pinching his nasalbone. "I know... it was kinda a spur of the moment thing otherwise I would've talked to you first. Still, I'm sorry.." He wandered over, sitting down. "how did he take it?" Sans asked slowly. You pointed to the kitchen. Sans sighed again, forcing himself back to his feet before he peeked inside to see Papyrus happily bouncing around while he cooked. "He's pretty excited to start his 'royal duties' but he wants to talk to you about it tonight." You explained. Sans nodded, feeling a little better knowing that Papyrus was excited. "still, talk to me next time you make a huge decision like this?" You nodded quickly. "It won't happen again, Sans."
