Chapter 1: The Child
Out on the Mediterranean Sea, a few ships drifted through the light storm. Lightning flashed and crackled.
A woman stood on the deck, holding a pink blanket. The woman had porcelain skin, long black hair and deep and bright amethyst purple eyes. The baby was a girl who was merely two years old. She whimpered and gripped at the woman's chest. She looked at her and smiled sadly.
"I'm sorry, my little one," she said, "but this is the only way... I can protect you from them."
Lightning flashed and the baby started crying.
"Shh, shh," the woman said softly, holding her close, "gods, I'm so sorry... my regret is not only for not giving you a name... but for not protecting you more."
The baby opened her tear-filled eyes and looked up at her mother. She had umber-chestnut skin, raven black hair and light brown eyes.
"I love you," the woman said softly, planting a kiss on her forehead. There was the sound of lightning but it was accompanied by roaring.
"My queen," a guard hurried over to the woman, "they're getting close."
The woman nodded and she exhaled before she held her hand over the baby. "Gods, rȳbagon issa wishes. Mīsagon issa riñnykeā. Jikagon zȳhon qrīdrughagon hen issa enemies' claws. Jikagon zȳhon naejot nykeā dīnagon skoriot ziry kostagon sagon dāez. Skoriot ziry kostagon glaesagon safely. Skoriot ziry jāhor aderī discover zȳhon drēje self."
A bright emerald green glow surrounded the baby before the light faded and so did the baby.
There was a roar as a large bright blue dragon slammed it's talons down on the ship. The dragon had dark blue wings traced with silver and purple and it's eyes were glowing brightly. It growled at the woman who glared back at it.
"Merlara...," it hissed, "what. Have. YOU DONE?!" Thunder boomed and dragons roared above the two.
"You will never get to her, Elion," Merlara growled, "I won't let you."
Elion growled before he grinned, "we will see about that." Before the woman could react, a blue and magenta Wyvern grabbed her and flew up into the air.
"QUEEN MERLARA!" The guard shouted, his eyes widening in horror. Elion looked at a silver dragon, "lay waste to this."
The silver dragon nodded and once his leader took to the skies, the silver dragon roared and a few more dragons, sea serpents and wyverns dived down to tear apart the ships and the people on it.
In a large prairie, there were a few elves tending to their gardens. In a tower, a watchman sat by the window, looking through the telescope. He squinted his eye a little before he grinned when he saw what he needed to see.
"They're back!" He yelled and blew a horn. Other Elves looked up in excitement.
A group of Elves riding on horseback came parading through the town. Up ahead was a forty two year old female elf. She had porcelain skin, dark red hair and light blue eyes. She wore blue and golden armor and a golden crown with a white gem in the middle.
"Queen Eliyen, the hunt was a successful one," a male elf said. He had sienna skin, blonde hair and deep green eyes. "Indeed it was," Eliyen chuckled, "House Havenweaver will eat well tonight."
"You forget, Eliyen," another voice said as another male elf rode beside her, "the other Houses will eat too." He had dark almond brown skin, bright red eyes and light brown hair. He wore green armor and he wore a silver crown with a blue gem in the middle of it.
"Of course, Kelvhan," Eliyen chuckled. She glanced back at another male elf. He had pale ivory skin, blonde hair and green eyes.
He wore red and golden armor and a red crown. He had two scars on his neck. He had a golden crown with an orange gem in the middle.
"King Voron is rather spicy today," a female elf chuckled. She had honey brown skin, dark brown hair and grey eyes.
She wore purple and golden armor. She had a golden crown with a black gem.
"He is always like that, Dasyra," Kelvhan huffed, "leave him be. We will eat like kings and queens tonight."
There was a bright flash and the horses whinnied in alarm. "Whoa!" Eliyen exclaimed.
"What the hell?!" Voron snapped. Eliyen jumped down from her horse's saddle and she walked over to the glowing green bubble.
She widened her eyes when she saw a baby human girl wrapped up in a blanket. The bubble popped and the girl looked up at Eliyen.
She stared at her. Kelvhan and Dasyra widened their eyes.
"Is that a human?" "I thought humans were banned from the Elven world!"
Eliyen frowned and she gently scooped up the baby into her arms.
"What the hell is going on?!" Voron snapped as he stormed over. Othorion glared at him and he placed a protective hand on Eliyen's shoulder.
Eliyen frowned deeply, "a human. A baby."
Voron narrowed his eyes, "how did it get here?" Eliyen was silent for a few moments.
"I'm not sure," she said, "the banquet will have to wait." "What?!" Voron and a few other kings and queens exclaimed.
"Eliyen, my house needs to eat now!" Voron growled. Eliyen glared at him, "and I'm sure your house can wait, Voron."
She and Othorion walked into the castle. Voron growled and he watched as Drannor and Rosanhi followed the two.
He knew he couldn't get in the way of whatever Eliyen was thinking. She had the arms of Othorion, Drannor and Rosanhi. They were the kings and queens of Houses who battled dragons.
"How old is she?" Drannor asked curiously. He had ivory skin, dark brown hair and green eyes.
"She is two years old," Othorion said. The baby looked up at Eliyen and whimpered softly, clinging to her.
"Shh, shh. You're safe." Eliyen chuckled, rubbing the girl's back.
"Mother! Mother!"
The four royals looked up to see eleven young girls running over.
"Hello, girls," Eliyen chuckled, "I have an announcement for all."
"Oh?" Rosanhi asked curiously. Eliyen looked at the baby girl, "I shall claim this one as my own. As my twelfth daughter of House Havenweaver."
"What?!" Othorion, Drannor, Rosanhi and Voron exclaimed.
"Eliyen, you can't be serious! A human?! Daughter to you! An elf?! There has been no change since the last Queens and Kings of the past!" Voron snapped angrily.
He stormed over to Eliyen. "Let me take the loathsome child and put her out of her misery!" He snarled.
Eliyen snarled before she swung her fist, sending a bolt of magic slamming into Voron who flew backwards and hit the ground hard.
"No one will harm what is mine! Even you, as a king of your house, will obey that order! For I am the first queen of this realm. And my word is law," she hissed. She looked down at the girl who was clinging to her. Eliyen gently rubbed her head and the baby looked up at her with wide, innocent brown eyes.
"Her eyes are innocent- just like yours," Othorion chuckled, "it is almost amusing as well as adorable." "Indeed. Your name shall be Pyria," Eliyen said with a soft smile.
Pyria cooed softly, tilting her head. An older girl walked up beside Eliyen and tilted her head. She had rose biege skin, bright fiery red hair and green eyes.
"Lythienne, come meet your sister," Eliyen said and she looked at the others, "all of you, come."
Her other daughters came over and smiled.
"She's so tiny!" Omylia giggled. "Are all humans like this?" Kavrala asked curiously.
"I don't know," Eliyen chuckled, "I've never seen one this small before."
Drannor chuckled and he glared at Voron as he growled, pushing himself to his feet.
Rosanhi narrowed her eyes at Voron. They knew he wouldn't dare touch the new princess lest he incite war between his house and Eliyen's.
Voron stormed out of the castle.
Othorion huffed. Eliyen chuckled, "he can threaten all he'd like. But he wouldn't risk the realms of his own. His ambition is commendable and the pride of his house is... misguided."
"House Robinstone won't be the only House to speak out. The Realm- the Court- will never accept the child," Drannor sighed, "she'll be bullied and mocked constantly."
"They will fall in line," Eliyen said calmly and her eyes glowed brightly, "or they will answer to my sword."
She looked down at Pyria, "no one will harm you."
