** Day five: How to find your inner beauty **


Hello everyone! I am late once again! And i'm still super sorry.

Ok before we start I want to tell you a story-- so literally like five minutes ago my dad wanted brownies so he got the mix and we only had one egg and we needed two so I gathered my dog and my courage and walked to my neighbor's house to get one egg and I was proud of myself

Anyways.

So, today we will address how to find your inner beauty.

Let's start with a survey:



HOW MANY OF YOU ARE INSECURE?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

I don't know what I expected... anyone who reads fan fiction is probably not in the best mental state--

SO! On a scale of 1-10, how much do you love yourself? 10 being Narcissus and 1 being how much Iran likes America right now.

(Iran really does NOT like America...)

Well that sucks. 

What do you not like about yourself?


Well, since I can't see your answers, let's get to the basics.


#1= Hair. Congrats! This is one of the few things you CAN change. Don't like short hair? Don't worry, it isn't the end of the world! Grow it out! Don't like long hair? Snip, snip! Your parents won't let you dye your hair pink even though it is the one thing in life that would make you happy? Well, here's what you'll do.  Ask your parents to buy the temporary hair dye for the color you want. If they really don't like it, wait until you ARE old enough to get your hair dyed. If they do like it, ask them to consider letting you dye it.  My parents told me "When you have enough money to dye your hair blonde, we will let you". Try and work something out!

#2= Clothes. Simple fix again! I know you might be short on money, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer! Start a garage sale and sell your clothes. Go to Goodwill. Look up clothes or aesthetics you would want to try and experiment. You have to be happy with who you are!

#3= Face, nose, ears, etc. This is a little bit harder to change. When you look in the mirror, you see someone with big ears and a fat nose. So, think of it this way: why think like that when you could think like someone who is obsessed with yourself? I saw this post on Pintrest that said "Think of depression like an annoying backseat passenger. 'Your hair looks bad.' 'Okay, thanks Karen.' 'You look ugly today.' 'Gerald, how did you get in my car?!' Remember, you are in control of the car, not the backseat passenger. You are in control of your brain, not depression." So, that's what you have to do.

Let's practice.

(Psst! This is the part where you say "Okay, mama, thanks for telling me, but I like how i look today and you don't have a say in it")

Also you look amazing today! That was just practice.

Science proves it is harder to be rude to someone if you treat them kindly or just say "OK". So, when your brain is being mean to you, you say "OK". BOOM!

#4= Body. Welcome to the world of body dysphoria! Over here we have eating disorders and over here we have-- NO, NO, NO! NONONONONONONO! BODY DYSPHORIA SUCKS AND DESERVES TO THROW ITSELF INTO TARTARUS ALONE AND FACE THE GODDESS NYX IN ALL OF HER ABYSSAL GLORY ALONE TOO! Your body is the only body you're gonna get. The only one. No, no second tries. No, no "pLaStIc sUrGErY". PEOPLE DIE FROM PLASTIC SURGERY. Your body is the only thing that keeps you walking. Destroying it will not help you feel better. Hate your weight! EAT HEALTHY, NOT NOTHING! Don't like how you're flat? TISSUES-- i'm kidding. SQUATS! YOUR FEET ARE TOO BIG?!!?!?!? Uh... it's okay. Nobody looks at your feet. Except for sixty year old men on YouTube, but....

So, what are you insecure about?

Let's take a moment. Look in the mirror.

Tell me.

Would you rather be friends will the shy girl that sits in the back of the class? She's insecure and mentally unstable.

Or friends with the loud girl with eighty mascara bottles and just as many boyfriends?

There is no right or wrong answer.

Which shows that everyone is attracted to people who are like them. One day, someone will come along and see how amazing you are.





OH WAIT, THEY DID!

HELLO EVERYBODY! I SEE HOW AWESOME YOU ARE! YUP! I SEE IT!

Back to the storyline ... plot? Is this a story?

Eh.



You can climb out of sadness. It takes time. It takes a lot of time. So, I have a recommendation for you.


Everyday, point out one thing you like about yourself.

It could be your favorite color t-shirt that looks go with your jeans. Awesome! I bet you look great.

One day, you happiness will flow over your flaws. 

I also encourage you to get therapy or see a counselor!


Okay. At this point i've been writing for an hour and my fingers are sore. I dunno if I will continue this tomorrow or if I will get a new topic, but I'll get something out!
