Chapter 6: A good spy has no fear
Berlin, Germany
Colt's Pov:
Colt lowered his M4 down at his side. Considering his options. What to do? The navy seal part of him wanted to go after the Wagner men who snatched Lex after the ambush, but now as an operator for the Alpha group which was CIA unsanctioned black ops group. Seeing the expression on Olreana face, he knew that she was right. Still, he wondered how they were going to get him back; that was the only question on his mind.
What bothered him about the ambush was how these mercenaries knew that exact location of the CIA site. There was no way they would have known about it, which got him thinking that maybe it had been infiltrated somehow. He swiftly brought up his M4, clutching in grip as he darted into the nondescript building.
Moving quickly and quietly up the staircase, he cleared the corridor before entering the dental office. Everything looked like it hadn't touched except for the shatter glass on the floor from maybe the bullet had been fired from. His finger rested on the trigger as he searched the entire office for any signs of infiltration.
He had noticed a surveillance video camera attached above the door when he had entered. The chances of finding out who was the infiltrator on it were slim, he knew. Which led him to believe that there was a mole inside the CIA and that meant this place was now compromised.
Colt clicked his earpiece saying," There's no sign of any infiltration here. Olreana, I think we have a mole inside the CIA."
"That would certainly explain how the Wagner men knew about this front," Olreana stated.
"Yes, But this site was highly classified, it would have to be someone who had access to that kind of intel. Maybe someone in the Berlin Station?" Colt asked in a curious tone.
"If you're right about that then it has to be the station chief," Olreana remarked.
Colt took one last glance around the office before ending the conversation on his earpiece saying,"Look from experience it has to the station or someone high up in the intel community,"
Orleana thought for a moment before she spoke considering what Colt had told her"One thing for sure I know it wouldn't be Director Hamilton, Maybe the Deputy Director of National intelligence," Olreana explained to Colt.
Colt strides out of the office with his M4 still clutched in his grip. If it was the Deputy Director of National intelligence, it made sense after all, she or he would have access to all the CIA fronts. Dashing down the staircase he knew that there were more players involved. Still, he was puzzled and wondered what the Deputy Director of National Intelligence gained from it.
Strolling out the front entrance he thought he would have never gotten recruited for the Alpha group because he was a risk taker/ HoweverLex had seen something in him and here he was now. He began walking over to Nicky, hearing her to talk to another agent.
Harper froze for a second taking in what Nicky had told her about the Alpha group. It was a bit of surprise to her but in the world of covert operations she knew that certain black groups unofficially didn't exist. She turned to see a man walking over to them with an M4 clutch in his grip.
"Colt, is one of our new recruits for the Alpha team," Nicky stated.
"Nicky, what do you know about the Deputy Director of National Intelligence?" Colt inquired.
"Not a lot, why?" Nicky asked.
"I think she could be the mole inside the CIA after all, she would have access to the intel and knowledge about this front," Colt remarked.
"Okay, what would she gain from it from having my asset killed Colt," Nicky inquired.
"What was your asset working on here; I mean it must be something vital that maybe the Deputy Director of NationalIntelligence didn't want him to find out," Colt replied.
"He had some intel on operation Thunderstorm and something to do with MK Ultra," Nicky stated.
"Did you just say Mk Ultra," Colt asked in a curious tone.
"Yes,why?" Nicky asked
"Because I remember when I was still in Navy seals, some of my seal teammates were recruited for MK Ultra. When I asked my commander, he told me it was a need to know, and that it was a highly classified project," Colt exclaimed.
Interesting, Nicky thought
" I think it's more than a highly classified project somehow. This operation Thunderstorm is active in Venezuela and is connected to Russtech Ammunition. And to my parents counterIntelligence task force C6," Nicky explained to Colt.
"I heard about Russtech Ammunition, one of the biggest suppliers of weapons to our special forces and to Russian special forces. If they were behind MK Ultra, then had they been working with the CIA," Colt remarked.
"We have been looking into Deputy Director of National intelligence shady dealings for a longtime. It wasn't until Venezuela came on our radar but when I tried to gain access, I was fully denied and told it was a special access program and my clearance wasn't high enough," Harper stated.
"Well whatever Russtech Ammunition is up to in Venezuela it's not good," Nicky replied .
Colt thought for a moment about the shattered glass on the floor of the dental office, the angle that the shooter had on them and Digby. He had seen those kinds of shooters before and knew that they never missed. As good a sniper as he was, he knew that going up against shooters like that wasn't good.
He knew enough about Venezuela to know that it wasn't a good country that allied itself with Russia, China and, maybe Iran . And if Russtech Ammunition was involved down there, maybe Mk Ultra was still active. Yes, he had heard stories about their assassins and operatives all over the world; which made him wonder if they were trying to overthrow the regime there.
