First of all, the cover is good and matches the theme of the book perfectly. I like how it has a castle in the background with the royalty upfront. Plus the title readable and goes hand in hand with the plot.

The summary is quite intriguing. It builds up suspense and intrigues the reader to find out more about the book.

The info dump of the characters came as a surprise and had me confused at first, but really comes in handy as the story progresses.

The characters were well written. I especially loved how they stuck to their individual personalities and were so realistic in thoughts and behaviors, it almost like they were real in a way. I especially liked Ethelinde, the author did a remarkable job with her personality and it affected the readers incredibly. I also noticed how some of the characters were viewed through others, each had their own version of them and it really shows how real the characters are.

The plot was quite enjoyable, interlaced with suspense, drama and action. But I found it a bit confusing at times, especially when some of the characters interacted.

The pacing is steady and good. It gives us time to move along with the characters and the grammar was near faultless.

Overall, this is an interesting read and I would recommend it to lovers of royal feuds and secrets.
