Chapter 26

VIVICA LOOKING 'TRIVICA'

Vivica Agreste, 23, was seen leaving the Agreste mansion earlier today looking a little trivial and not in the usual designer get up we're used to seeing on the model. Where Adrien Agreste, 24, was seen leaving the manor in a hurried rage, climbing into his beloved Bugatti a face like thunder, Vivica's exit only moments later looked everything like the lost young, innocent girl Paris believed her to be.

The female model was met by the family driver, The Gorilla, before being escorted off the property and towards the 'Agreste's' multi Million Euro home in the centre of Paris. Adrien and Viviac had lived in the home since they announced their engagement over three years ago, the house suitable for a large family... one which Paris was certain they'd see the loved up couple start filling by now. Vivica's heartbroken expression was covered by the latest range of 'Gabriel' sunglasses [Click this link to buy], the model maintains her wonderful stylish image even in the depths of her grief.

Chloé Bourgeois, 24, has come forward with this statement.

'What is going on in both Adrien and Vivica's relationship has nothing to do with us and is personal to them. Both are mourning what was considered 'true love' and the press should be considerate enough to allow them to grieve. As for the speculation that Adrien has another woman, as a close friend to the family, I can firmly deny Adrien has any involvement with any other woman. I have known Adrien since he was two years old, and even with the amount of peasants throwing themselves at him during collége and lycée, he never once showed any interest, remaining faithful to Vivica at all times.'

In complete contrast Adrien's cousin, Félix Graham de Vanily, has posted something rather controversial on his social media, indicating '[Vivica] isn't as innocent as we all think.'

With this rift between the Agreste's we can't help but wonder if Gabriel's decline has affected their family more than we originally considered. Only time will tell.

•••••

"Adrien, stop!" Her voice was squeaky and he couldn't help but dig his fingers in more, tickling her sides and making her squirm.

"You sound like a mouse? Isn't that convenient?"

"Kitty, stop! If not, I swear I'll throw you off the Eiffel Tower."

"It wouldn't be the first time, M'Lady!"

She burst out laughing again as he dug his fingers in a little harder, her body thrusting backwards and forwards trying to break away.

"I knew you two would be disgustingly sweet." Kagami walked into the kitchen, Adrien finally breaking away from his girlfriend after dropping a kiss on Marinette's neck.

"Of course," he said, heading over to his coffee machine and switching it on.

"Thank you for keeping your coitus to a suitable level last night, though Adrien if you don't mind can you not cry so loud tonight, please? I need my sleep." Kagami stood with her arms crossed in the doorway, smiling at her friends.

Marinette made her way over to Kagami, wrapping her in a hug as they both started commenting on each other's appearance, with a whole load of 'look at you'. Adrien couldn't remember the last time he was this happy. Standing around watching two of his closest friends greeting each other with such familiarity warmed his heart; his whole being feeling stronger than ever before.

"It's about time you two got it together. He's been pining after you for years."

Adrien rolled his eyes. Kagami may have chilled out over the years, but she was still a ball buster when she wanted to be.

"Me too." Marinette turned around to catch his eye and he couldn't help the content sigh leaving his mouth. Waking up with Marinette had been perfect, well if he was being honest it was slightly warm and sweaty; they'd refused to let go of each other in the night, but still it was nice, very nice.

"So, what are you making us all for breakfast, Adrien?" Kagami walked further into the room, heading for the kettle and her secret stash of tea bags.

"You, nothing. My girlfriend whatever the hell she wants?" Adrien turned back to his coffee machine taking the dark liquid and heading to the fridge; milk for his coffee and, also, to add to Marinette's chocolate powder.

"He's a crap host," Kagami said, turning to Marinette.

"Don't I know it," Marinette replied, Adrien sticking his tongue out before turning his attention back to their drinks. "What are your plans today, Gami?"

"Not sure, but I'm guessing you two need to talk so we'll make ourselves scarce. Maybe go and see Jess and Aeon, see what we can find out about the feather."

Marinette gasped as Adrien threw Kagami 'a look', trying to break through to her telepathically.

'Why the fuck did you say that?'

'You're telling me you haven't told her yet?'

'Does this face look like I've told her?'

"Hey bug," both Adrien and Kagami turned their scowl and telepathic powers onto Fei.

'Well damn!'

"Do - do you all... oh god..." Marinette grabbed hold of her head, moving away from the counter and towards the chairs. Adrien rushed to her side, grabbing hold of her arm and helping her sit down, before crouching in front of her and placing his hands reassuringly on her knees.

"They know," he said softly.

"How - how? Oh fuck. How long?"

"A year." He placed his hands on her thighs, her own on top of his, fingers digging into him. "Give or take a few... months."

"Oh, okay, I - wow."

"I know it's a lot to take in but they became my support system."

"Kagami, Fei, Jess and -"

"And Aeon, yes."

Marinette looked around the room and Adrien felt his heart rate peak again. Oh shit! He should have told her yesterday.

"Okay then," she said through a sigh turning her attention towards his room, "guys no need to hide, you can come out."

Suddenly the room was taken over by many magical beings, each swirling and twirling around the room hunting for food and Longg making a beeline for Kagami, slamming itself straight into her chest.

"I was going to confide in Alya but everything that was happening between her and Nino, I kind of threw that idea out of the window."

"Yeah, sometimes I think their mess is worse than ours." She laughed, the tightening around his heart loosening with the sound.

Taking him by surprise, she stretched forward and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I'm glad you had some people to talk to, and I really think you made the right choice." She looked up at Fei and Kagami, and Adrien knew she'd trust the girls with anything. Fei being an equivalent to them, along with Jess and Aeon.

She kissed him on the cheek, before standing and walking over to his room before reentering the kitchen, her head buried in her duffle bag. She was messing around in it before emerging, whilst pulling out the choker for the dragon Miraculous, placing the bag down and moving to Kagami. She presented the Miraculous taking the fencers' usually stoned face into shock.

"Kagami, this is the Miraculous of the dragon which grants the power of perfection. You'll use it for the greater good. Once the mission is over, you'll return the Miraculous to me.... Can I trust you?"

"Mission?" Kagami looked to Adrien, his head nodding for her to accept. She took the item from Marinette and placed it around her neck, her eyes never leaving those of the guardian.

"Girls, can I have a moment with Marinette please?"

Fei and Kagami looked to each other before leaving the room, Adrien signalling Marinette to follow him up the stairs and onto the roof terrace. He pushed open the skylight, stepping out before helping her up to join him. Keeping their hands interlocked, he guided her to the seating area just off to the side, surrounded by flowers and wind chimes.

He gestured to the wind chimes creating sweet melodies above their heads. "It blocks out anyone listening in."

Settling her down next to him, he reached out and took both her hands in his.

"Tell me what you know."

•••••

Marinette seated herself beside Adrien, her feet turned in and knees knocking together; her hands were cupped with his in her lap as she played with his ring. She looked out over the Parisian skyline marvelling at the view from up so high and how she could see herself and Adrien creating a life and a family here, but once again their pieces of jewellery were stopping them. The Miraculous halting any prospect of a future together, at the moment, and placing it on hold once more until the job was done. Unconsciously, she let go of one of his hands and reached up to stroke her thumb across her earring, how could one tiny speck hold such unlimited power?

"Are you okay?" Adrien's voice flew through her ears, the sound of it so reassuring she knew they could do this. After 11 years it was time to take part in the final battle, but she wasn't so sure now that it was only one.

"How much has Tikki told you? I know you've been having your own 'private' parties." Marinette used her fingers to punctuate the word, meaning she knew exactly what had been going on without her, Tikki couldn't wait to spill.

Adrien sighed, his hand moving to rest on her thigh. "I know about your text messages, that you've been receiving death threats."

Marinette snorted, "Yeah, not the first time and won't be the last. But this one was different. Can you remember the conversation we had the morning of your wedding?" Her hand came to rest on Adrien's yet her eyes were still out looking to the distance, lost in what seemed like a whole other life.

"Yeah, I tried to get you to come and save me, but instead you were a shit hero and left me to get married."

Marinette huffed out a laugh, finally turning to face him before resting her head on his shoulder. "I was close you know, well, not to save you, but to save Chat. I fucking hated you, you could marry the Wicked Witch for all I cared, you were made for each other."

"Fuck off!" He laughed, wrapping his arm around her tightly, placing his hand on her hip and pulling her close. "The only person I'm made for is you." He kissed her on the top of the head, and she couldn't help the warmth flood through her. This was really happening. They were really together.

"You're mine forever now. I'm going to propose to you next week." She sighed happily.

"Well, I'm going to propose this week." Adrien retorted.

"I'm going to propose tomorrow."

"I'm going to propose today."

"I'm going to propose that you both shut up and get on with the story." Plagg appeared through the roof, quickly followed by Tikki, both coming to settle in front of their holders with stern looks on their faces.

"We haven't waited three years for you two to mess around, plus he's still married," Tikki added, her arms crossing over her chest.

"Rub it in, why don't you?" Adrien huffed, moving his arm away from Marinette, breaking the contact between the two.

"Fine!" Marinette sighed, lifting her head from Adrien's shoulder and twisting to face him. "So, yeah, I'd just returned to the bakery and was getting ready to come and find you, Tikki had the address and everything ready to lead the way, when the first message came. It was as if whoever had the Miraculous knew what was about to happen, making sure they stopped me."

"Can you remember what it said?" His eyebrows had dropped, his eyes glistening with a mix of fear and apprehension.

"If you want him to live,
There's only one choice for you,
Because last thing you'd want
Is for his body to turn blue.

I'm watching you closely,
I know who you are,
Fear me Miss Ladybug,
Because for me, nothing's a step too far."

"That was after the battle with Lila though. The Butterfly Miraculous was missing, we didn't know who had it." Adrien looked between her and the kwamis, his expression curious.

"Which proves whoever this is, is certainly not Lila, but it also means they know who I am. Adrien, I need you to tell me, who was it that knew my identity?"

Adrien took a deep breath, running his hand up and down his neck as his eyes closed shut in pain, the start of a migraine kicking in. Marinette couldn't help but want to cuddle him. To pull him close and let him know she was there for him, that whoever this person was who'd sent them to hell and back, they could be defeated; that they could do it, the two of them together as one.

"It was my father and Nathalie."

The gasp leaving her lips was automatic, she didn't want to sound out a reaction to panic him or make him fear her knowing but hearing it was Gabriel Agreste that had put them in this position only made her hate the famed fashion designer even more.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that."

Adrien's weak, broken laugh had her reaching out and once again bringing him into her chest, wrapping her arms tightly around this man she adored. They were in a mess, a complete and utter mess and again it came down to the point where they couldn't be together properly until this was ended, until the Butterfly Miraculous was firmly back in her hands. God, she couldn't wait to walk down the street hand in hand with him.

"No, believe me, you reacted better than I did. I smashed my room up to the point of no return."

"Tikki said." Marinette laughed. "I'm glad you felt that strongly for me."

"You have no idea." Adrien lifted his head to face her, dating forwards and kissing her lips briefly before moving away.

"If I have this right, the deal was you married Vivica and my identity remained safe?"

"Safe? I suppose. It was basically so that my father didn't release your name to Hawkmoth."

They sat in silence, both looking out over the horizon listening to the gentle sound of the windchimes fill the void left by the lack of their voices.

"Is there any chance Hawkmoth could be your father? Or even Nathalie?" Marinette asked, her hand automatically heading to her pendant and passing it through her fingers, before she placed it in her mouth moving it between her lips.

Adrien's hand came up and held over her own, moving it from her lips and taking her hand in his once more.

"I tried to catch my father out, to find anything that would link him to Hawkmoth; but it seems if he was the original Hawkmoth, he lost the brooch to Lila. Though, this could be the reason he was being blackmailed in the first place."

"Why did he have to bring you into this though? Why not just come straight after me?"

"Because the psycho wanted you both to hurt," Plagg responded, the heroes turning their heads to look at him. "Adrien, everyone knows the way to hurt you is not to attack you, but the ones around you. Your father figured out pigtails' identity and then by attacking her heart, he weakened her as much as possible. If he had any idea that you were Chat Noir he probably thought he hit the big time, ripping the two of you apart."

"But instead you didn't show any weakness on the outside, Gabriel probably concluding he was wrong," Marinette said, the whole picture starting to build in front of her.

"He needed to hurt everyone around you to try and bring down Chat Noir. I think your father was working against you," Tikki said, only for Adrien to sit up a little straighter.

"He thought I was weak, didn't he? He thought he could do what he's always done—fucking knock me down; his aim was to destroy me."

"Or, if not destroy, use you." Marinette looked at him, her eyes widening as it began to make sense. "If he was Hawkmoth and he wanted to send the ultimate akuma it would be to me or you, and I'm sorry but I would go for endless destruction over creation any day, and I'm sure he would too. Who would want an unlimited supply of forks when you can destroy the -" Her mind began to link together fragments of the past. If Gabriel wasHawkmoth then he was the reason for Chat Blanc. It was nothing to do with their love, just the broken heart of a lonely old man. "World."

"When you fell in love with Marinette it bound your hearts together," Tikki said. "It's the ultimate love which becomes an unbreakable strength, the reason why you both could carry on. The love you both felt for each other protected you against the akumas."

"But why didn't it work in the past?" Marinette questioned her kwami.

"Because we didn't fully love each other." Adrien turned to her, his mouth stretched out to match the frown creasing his perfectly smooth forehead. "Adrien wasn't in love with Marinette, and Ladybug wasn't in love with Chat Noir."

The kwamis nodded, Marinette gulping down a thickness in her throat, her voice coming out small and weak. "I always loved you though, I just wasn't in love with you."

He lifted her hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to her knuckles. "It's okay Marinette, we were both in the same position. This brought us together, as shitty as the whole situation is. You can't help who you love and when."

"But if I'd loved Chat Noir this wouldn't have happened."

"You're blaming yourself again, Sweetheart. You did nothing wrong." Adrien calmly said to her.

"Neither of you did," Tikki added on.

"Okay, so Gabriel was the original Hawky. Lila found out, bribed Gabriel to what? To get back at you? I don't know, it all seems a bit petty," Plagg said, only for both Adrien and Marinette to scoff.

"You have met Lila, right?" Marinette said, looking down at the small black kwami.

"Fine, let's go with her being a psycho bitch. Anyway, Lila finds out about Gabe and what? Steals the Miraculous? Teams up with Félix and attacks you both at what they believe is your weakest point? Maybe your pops told them he had taken down Ladybug only for you both to develop your love into something stronger and unbreakable, and 'pow' you come out and kick ass."

"Which brings us to Lila throwing the Miraculous," Tikki said, turning to her counterpart and adding to the story.

"Marinette, what did Lila say before she jumped?"

Marinette clenched her jaw. She'd tried to forget about what Lila had said, and the way she had said it. The look in her eyes as she fought against a Ladybug with nothing left to lose. Marinette knew she was going to win, Lila was inexperienced and cocky, but the way she'd looked into Marinette's eyes and spoke those words...it terrified her.

"I've won." There was no tone in her voice as she spoke, speaking the words factually and without any meaning.

"I've won?" Adrien questioned, only for Marinette to nod.

"When we were in collége, she cornered me coming out of school one day, she threatened to take everyone away from me, including you - personally. I didn't know whether she meant the battle, or the fact she had me unmasked, but the look in her eyes, Adrien." She shook her head, trying to bring her thoughts around. "It was terrifying."

Before she knew what was happening, he had his arms wrapped around her, bringing her into his body as he cradled her head. "I should have left her to fall to her death." His voice echoed from his chest into her ear, the vibrations as soothing as his usual super powered purr.

"You did what you had to do. We're saviours, not murderers. You were right to save her; I couldn't have lived with myself if you hadn't."

"But it still doesn't answer the question of who's Hawkmoth now? Who picked up the Miraculous?" Tikki asked, the two heroes still tightly holding each other in an embrace.

"It can't be my father, he's lost his mind to the point he doesn't even know who I am anymore. Lila's still an option, she's well equipped and a lot smarter than we originally thought," Adrien began, listing off names as Marinette considered each option.

"Nathalie?" she questioned.

"Possibly. She knows as much as my father so I wouldn't skip past her just yet," Adrien replied. "Same goes for Vivica, and maybe even Dominic. They both appeared at the same time, there might be something there."

"What about Félix?"

"I know you probably don't want to hear this, but he's been a big help, Mari. Him and Nino have been my biggest supporters."

"I still fucking hate him," she said, her voice harsh in tone. She would never, ever be a fan of Félix Graham de Vanily, the villain role just suited him too well. Suddenly her mind went back to the previous interactions with Adrien. "What was the video Félix sent you?" she asked. Suddenly something was niggling in the back of her mind.

"Oh, it was a video of him and Vivica having sex." Adrien stretched up and rubbed the back of his neck. "He wants me to watch it, apparently something is wrong with it."

"Give it here." Marinette held out her hand for Adrien to place his phone in. She looked up at his face only to see the cutest pout on his face. "I'm not going to make you watch it, Minou." She rolled her eyes before flapping her hand up and down, hinting for him to put the phone in her palm.

"Please, don't do this to yourself."

"Adrien, I'm not going to go all body conscious because of seeing your wife naked."

"Do you realise every time you say the 'w' word my balls shrivel up inside me?" Adrien moved around reaching for his phone from his back pocket. "If you want some action tonight you need to stop saying it."

"Fine!" She laughed. "Now just give me the fucking phone."

He pulled it out and placed it in her hand. "You know, if you're staying here with me, I'm opening a swear jar. I'll be rich by next week."

"Sorry to tell you this, Kitty," she said, hitting around the buttons on his phone, "but you're already fucking rich. Aha!"

She found the video, amongst many naked pictures of herself, and pressed play, looking for the volume switch and turning it up.

"I can't do this." Adrien stood up, collecting his things, i.e. Plagg, and heading towards the skylight. "I'll see you back downstairs."

Marinette ignored him leaving, instead going into full Ladybug mode and clicking the play button.

The screen lit up, Félix front and centre with Vivica already lying naked on the bed. Félix began to strip down, showing that he wasn't as well endowed as his cousin, and climbed onto the bed, the two starting to make out. They were chatting about random shit, and Marinette was starting to wonder if this was literally just a video to get Adrien out of the prenup, after all, if you knew Adrien's naked body you knew this wasn't it. Though Félix had muscle, he was definitely no Adrien. He was missing the biceps and Adrien's fucking gorgeous abs, but also the little birthmark Adrien had on the inner of his right thigh, the one she'd kissed and licked time and time again.

The two started going at it on the video, the muffled sounds of groans and moans taking over the sound as flesh on flesh struck against each other. Though this wasn't something that turned her on, per se, she couldn't help but want to create her own video with Adrien, something about it heated her up at the thought of watching the two of them back.

Shaking herself out of her Adrien filled fantasies, she continued to watch the video.

'Say my name. Come on, say it!'

Félix was as clear as day, his voice begging Vivica to let the world know who was doing this to her.

'I can't.'

'Come on, Vivica! Just once, say my name.'

'Oh, fuck!'

'Say my name, now!'

'Oh, Félix!'

Rewinding the video she watched it back again and again. Something wasn't sitting right, a churning in her gut telling her to look closer. Pulling out her own phone, she airdropped it to herself before heading back into the apartment ready to hand Adrien his phone back.

'Come on, Vivica! Just once, say my name.'

That line struck her as odd. Why was he so adamant that she said his name? Was it a power play against Adrien? A way to shove it in his face? Or was there something else there? Something Félix was hiding, or maybe something he knew?

Adrien's phone buzzed in her hand, Nino's name flashing on the caller ID. Hurrying down the staircase she headed straight for Adrien's room when, much to her delight, he was topless in the midst of getting changed.

"Adrien, your boyfriend's calling."

"Oh, goody!" He took the phone from Marinette, accepted the call and placed it on loudspeaker.

"Adrien, oh thank God! I need your help."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm going to see Alya tomorrow, she wants to meet up, but she asked if maybe you and Marinette can be there too."

Adrien looked up at Marinette who enthusiastically was nodding her head.

"Yeah sure, do you two want to come here or -?"

"I've already spoken to Juleka and Rose. They said we can meet on The Liberty as it's mutual ground."

"That's great man, text me the deets and we'll be there."

"Thanks man, it means a lot. Say hi to Marinette for me."

Marinette folded her arms and raised an eyebrow at him, a clear sign of are you kidding me?

"I had to tell someone," Adrien replied. "I've finally got the girl of my dreams."

"You're a doofus, do you know that?"

Walking into the ensuite bathroom, she slammed the door shut and rested against it. A huge smile stretching across her face.

She was the girl of his dreams.

•••••

'Say my name. Come on, say it.'

'I can't.'

'Come on, Vivica! Just once, say my name.'

'Oh, fuck!'

'Say my name, now!'

'Oh, Félix!'

Marinette shot up in bed, the moonlight crossing over the bedsheets and Adrien's faint snoring echoing around the room joining in with her crazily beating heart. Grabbing her phone from the side table, she turned the volume onto low and pulled up the video of Félix and Vivica again.

Pausing the video half way in, she used her fingers to zoom onto Félix's hand. He was holding something of Vivica's, a necklace or a bracelet. The quality of the video was not quite clear enough to see. She rewound and watched it again, and again, and again her heartbeat increasing with each playback.

"Fuck!"

Grabbing Adrien's arm she began to shake him, only for the damn man to not budge.

"Adrien, wake up. Come on!" She shook him again, this time managing to get a couple of words out of his mouth.

"Oh, Multimouse, just lie down and let Aspik take care of you."

Where usually this would have been a moment she'd hold against him to tease him forever, maybe even get her phone ready to film him saying it again, but right now that wasn't a priority.

"Adrien, wake up!" she said with a little more force, still nothing but a little snicker leaving his mouth.

Grabbing the pillow from behind her, she raised it and hit him across the body causing him to shoot up straight gasping for breath.

"What the fuck, Marinette?"

"Watch this!" She grabbed her phone again, rewinding it to the exact spot she'd been watching non-stop. He moved closer to her, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"I don't-"

"Watch the fucking video, Adrien." He stretched to his bedside table taking his glasses and placing them on the bridge of his nose. Pressing play, they watched as Félix demanded Vivica say his name. She refused time and time again until he grabbed the pendant from around her neck and demanded one last time.

'Say my name, now!'

'Oh, Félix!'

Suddenly they were both wide awake; Adrien took the phone from Marinette's hand before scrolling back and watching it again, his expression changing, as he looked at Marinette, his hand cupping and pulling on his lips.

"You're fucking kidding me!"

They watched it together one last time as Félix demanded his name to leave Vivica's lips at the exact moment he grabbed her pendant.

That he grabbed her amok.
